A quick note that I forgot to mention; Each time a boss gets staggered, the stagger they take is reduced. At first, they take 100% stagger, after the first stagger they take 80% of the original stagger, after the second they take 60% of the original stagger and finally from then on it is always 10% of the original stagger.
This is exactly what I was going to ask, thank you for adding this note! I'm curious about Stagger builds: once they hit this 10% wall, how many "staggers per minute" (or whatever makes sense for measurement) could one achieve on a high-end build? This is relevant for considering uptime of CC-dependent damage bonuses in the latter part of longer encounters.
@UTNPB with certain very silly setups for rogue, I think Xarrio managed to get it sub 30 seconds after you get to the 10% stagger phases. It really does depend on your build though!
Oh my goodness! How could I have possibly missed such an incredible event? Ava started filling the channel with content. It's like Christmas and a birthday on the same day! Ava, you are an absolute legend. Your contribution to the rogue community is unrivaled. Keep up the amazing work and don't look back, your work is priceless!
You are far too kind, making a grown man blush! Thank you so much for dropping by! Hopefully, I will have the time to continue filling this channel with all the information you guys need.
hey Ava, thanks for the in depth content. Loving all these math even though my brain takes a while to process them all. I just want you to know you are a much appreciated content creator for D4. I hope in the future we can have tools like Path of Building, it'll make your job and our game so much easier to min-max a character.
I appreciate comments like this so much, all I want to do is contribute to the knowledge of the community. I hope that we can make a tool like that soon as well!
I recently made a poison trapper build, to stack as much poison (2 million per trap) and poison duration as possible. Using stealth and laying four traps at once. On the third lot of 4 I have noticed stagger occurs. I have stacked close to 200% duration on poison triggered from traps, there doesn't seem to be a cap on duration. I want really long duration so I can spam traps on top of each other. My build is only half optimized hoping to double the poison output and duration when I have finished masterworking. I have tested on dummies and helltides Boss and everytime I add third set it staggers every time. I am also using stun grenades via going into and coming out of stealth and evades. This is a seriously fun build. Got serious movement speed and dodge so I lay traps as a square overlapping in centre. Then proceed to get surrounding monsters agro and run them through the poison. Watching them melt before they leave the poison pool is so much fun.
Thank you. This is very helpful. Is there a way to slow down the depletion of the stagger bar once it turns blue? Also, it seems some bosses recover from stagger faster than others, i.e. their stagger bar when blue goes down very quick.
Glad it was helpful! I would have to do some testing before I could say exactly how it works, but the stagger duration should be the same with no way of slowing down the stagger depletion.
Also Ava, I can stagger pit 130 bosses about 3 times before they become incredibly difficult to stagger just like your comment below. What would be a tip to help combat this and push it a little further? I'm a HS Rogue, with LH stun/immobile/slow on affixes, concussive strikes aspect and smoke grenade are my main sources of stagger.
I would suggest swapping the LH: Slow to something like LH: Daze or Freeze as LH: Slow adds very little stagger compared to the other options (1.7 per 1 sec vs 5.1 or 7.65). Unfortunately, the 4th stagger onwards is supposed to be slow due to how the game works and it is hard for heartseeker to really get fast staggers at that point. :(
@@Avarilyn thank you for your feedback, i'll try and fix what you suggest because my stagger build up is a little slow compares to other. Stagger speed on my Andies Poison TB is so fun though.. I'll do my best to support future content :P Edit: I also read your "academic paper" on how damage works on maxroll. I felt like I was in a pre calculus class all over again lol.
Bro deserves a trophy. I love nerd math. Question do all lhc tempers share the spam protection? Like lhc stun lhc freeze? If that question didn't make sense, is it better to mix your lhc crowd control tempers.
@spencercurtis86 so each crowd control type has separate spam protection within the same source/bucket. What this means is that LH: Stun and LH: Freeze do not reduce each other at all because they are separate types of crowd control. So yes, it is better to mix them!
Thanks for the explanation. With Tempering, if i apply LHC to stun on one armour piece, and LHC to freeze on another piece, is the overall stagger time less because they are in the same CC bucket? Or is LHC different because each LHC is calculated separately?
Since they are two different types of crowd control i dont think it would matter if they are of the same bucket. I believe they need to be of the same bucket and the same type

Seems like adding damage to cc might help more so u can do more damage with the 3 staggers you already have

Hi great vid. Im using a rogue heartseeker. I have Lucky hit 2x freeze, Daze and stun in my armors. Is that ok? Whats your recommended setup? Thanks
@qutiephoebe2154 for more stagger, I would change one of the lucky hit freeze rolls to lucky hit immobilize.
