Watching Trey play guitar is like watching someone type on there computer properly. Knows exactly what each note is going to sound like before playing it and doesn't have to think about it. It's just so effortless, it's insane to watch.
The "groove" as they would call it. It's an amazing state where you are all connected as one, at an insane level to where music flows from your soul during musical improvisation. No idea where it comes from but it's very very spiritual and real. Phish has songs and riffs but when played live it all comes from their body/soul without thought or reasoning and that's why Phish is one of the best. Maybe a vibration or frequency? Lol. This is what space smells like

Especially with treys Facebook post prior to nye about the book Bella gave him. There’s no other act that comes close to the level of appreciation and dedication between both artist and fan. The new material rocks and is super catchy, the band is clearly loving it & we can only hope that continues for a long, long time
That shit eating grin at 15:48 says it all, its amazing that after all this time, after upteenith million shows, and coming up on 5 different decades that they are all still having so much, keeping it fresh and creative and actually enjoying being Phish. So few bands are still playing together 30 yrs after coming together and of those who do, only few are still creating new material and are excited about it.
Ya, Trey has always been a super smiley guy though. I've never seen anyone have as much fun making music as he does. I think it's a big part of their success. It's contagious.

Let me just say that the energy and vibe on the floor during this (really the whole night) was easily one of the best I’ve ever felt. I’ve been to a lot of concerts, but nothing brings more bliss than a phish show. Never stopped grooving or smiling the whole night. Till summer tour!
Really was priceless.....i was at the back of floor watching treys wife and daughter with their mouths wide open when trey and Mike where dangling from the air....priceless ..wish i would have videoed there reaction..fall tour,vegas,and nye run was more than i could have expected...phish on phriends !!!

I actually have been a long-time Phish critic. But I've come around. I listened to this New Year's performance on XM, and...it was really superb. And now, seeing the visual feast that went along with it...Kudos. It really doesn't get much better than that.

Saw a HORDE show with them on the bill in 1994, a Greek Theater show with JJ Cale warming up, 2001 at Shoreline, and most recently in 2010 at OutsideLands. So I wasn’t critical due to unfamiliarity - it was deeper than that :)
I know I'm clouded by my presence at this show... but I can't freakin stop watching this! So happy to have been a part of a celebration that caps one of Phish's greatest years in 3.0! Way To Go BAND. You guys are the best at banding.
Thank you Phish for putting this out for the universe to witness. Thank you Phish and the crew for continuing to push your own limits and strive to make these experience phresh , anew, and ever expansive. This years nye seemed to blow many minds and hearts

Jason- Im newly sober. I don't like Phish any less. Prob more actually. I've seen them roughly 40 times since 2000. Cant wait to do it sober this summer
they also edited auld layne quite a bit. it actually had a false ending where they bust back in. and also many bad notes were played by trey. noticeable flubs. In fact, I'm wondering if he actually overdubbed a new solo because I don't remember any of it being this tight. But you can't blame him with all the balloons, confetti and crazyness. If it's not a new overdub, they edited it down to the ONE verse that wasn't botched. Not complaining just happened to notice.

I've been saying that for 30 years now. I've been to over 60 Phish shows, but never New Years. I'm finally going this year and with my oldest and best friend. We're going to all 4 shows actually. 3 weeks from today! Super stoked.
