I want to live in this video. Watched it again today (after 2018 NYE couch tour) and fell in love with it again. I think my favorite part is when the Scandinavian ski bunnies go and grab the band and bring them out to dance. The one who grabs Trey is so adorably excited the whole time and is an awesome dancer. I just noticed this time that after the countdown the hotdog guy lays a midnight kiss on her, lucky SOB! Then when the first notes of After Midnight start she's still jumping up and down with joy as they walk off the stage. Love.
The energy that is displayed between a clean and sober Phish along with the unity of different nationalities and a crowd that has to be in awe has never been done at this level. I have tears coming down my face as i am witnessing in my opinion the most amazing Meatstick ever. The sun might have been coming up at Big Cypress on 1-1-00 during Meatstick but on 12-31-10 Phish took things to a level of joy that is only dreamed about at times.
I feel so lucky to have attended this show. one of the most joyful experiences of my lifetime. holy fuck that After Midnight hits so hard even after 12 years.
As far as Rock n’ Roll concert history, absolutely. Beatles Don’t Let Me Down on the Apple roof... Hendrix Monterey 67 lighting up his axe... Both are Rock N’ Roll concert moments that will likely live forever. Legendary live Phish pieces slam all the senses massively harder. Talk about 4 dudes whom have made as awesome as possible of positive impact on the world... Fuck n a.
One thing I always love about seeing Phish, the GD, and some other bands is the incredible joy that fills everyone, dancing and smiling and being part of a big positive communal feeling. It's different than when you see a pop, heavy metal, or country band and everyone is having fun. Especially when they go off the rails and veer into the abstract and everyone follows them into the rabbit hole out to another universe and back again. I love the mindfk. Our jam-enjoying culture takes joy to a whole 'nother level. Glad I've been part of it for the last 50+ years. We are lucky to live right now.
I was there.....I still get chills. It was an incredible display of talent and camaraderie. We all felt it that night. Shocks my brain! Happy New Year 2019!
0:22 -- Well, that Phan who brought the "Meatstick" sign was certainly happy! (Lower right) Sometime during the third set, Trey should've had some fun with that Phan and said the sign inspired the entire gag ... that they went into the concert with no idea what they were going to do until they saw the sign.
Wow, loved those balloon drops! Especially the 646q "hot doggy" balloons (one of my favorites). It's sooo UPLIFTING, UPBEAT & VIBRANT! AWESOME! I watched this video along with my cat & it always keeps my cat's ears up like an owl 🦉. LOL. Cheers! ❤️👍✌️🦉.
Love the meatsticks! HOLY white puffs! I never knew there were actual prescribed dance steps to go with the lyrics. I love these guys, and I'm an old geezer, lol.
This is the coolest thing ever. Also extremely cool is your posting these vids. I'm an old Deadhead but haven't really gone Phishin' until 3.0, first show Hershey PA June '10. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing, and for having a really scary-good camera.
@ilovealexjones1 You need to research this stuff yourself that way you can tell people about it like me. I was once using drugs and drinking and became sober and it is the most amazing feeling. I know for a fact Trey was using because i could see it in concerts. Eventually Trey got arrested and went through Drug court and is now a clean and sober person who is playing with a clear mind and is enjoying the shit out of life im sure. I am so proud of him and can feel his joy with him
Trey tore that After Midnight to absolute shreds!! Love it!!

So over the top but also strangely touching! Wish I'd been there - not sure how this could ever be exceeded!

It's one of my greatest music memories, being at MSG that night. It gives me the chills. Happy 2019!
just holding a crowd of thousands in tune for that long is saying something for how well they are loved by their fans ... AMAZING
greatest moment in concert history?? Def debatable.
right up there with david gilmore showing up on top of The Wall to do his comfortably numb first lead! goosebumps yo!!!
Yeah. Just like "what?!" So charged as always

By the way, this summer phish has a very special guest
Those were the days. All out of FREEdom and Capitalisn in Hillsborough....Hows Vermont, rancid like Bristol and Plymouth (Vermont).
Cheesecake MP3 playas. Check out IPNA, the Continentaly deaf!
i think it was perfect
@FluffityAntelope Its around 6:20. Or I could just be hearing things. It isn't like I speak all those tongues.
Thumbs Up if you came here b/c of Marco :)
@TheDanification Only the ones you can't understand. I lost track of how many languaghes they were singing at once.
hahahahaha yes!
Where and when do you think they recorded the loop. Pretty smooth transition. Or smooth enough for me not to notice when it switches.
So I'm still a bit curious, does anyone on stage have any interest in either taking out or burying the meatstick?
CRABINMYMEATSTICK!
