old video, but is the rear spring necessary? I don't overland or off-road not even haul anything heavy, so can I get away with just coilover and rear shock or just buy the kit? I'm running KO2 275s, my goal is better ride quality, slight lift and level the car. Thank you.
We didn't initially but recently upgraded to the Dr KDSS BOTCK and it made the rig way more stable in the rear: drkdss.com/products/bopck-bolt-on-pan-hard-correction-kit
Did you have any rubbing issues with the 285s ? Also what's the max tire size can you go with this set up? I'm looking to order the 2R kit for my runner and I don't want to do a body mount chop.. trying to stay within my budget here not having to touch anything else.
Yes BMC required to clear this offset (-38) wheel. Maybe not if you crank up the coilovers all the way but it'll be super stiff. Even with an additional 1" body lift the BMC is required. Stick to 0 to -12 offset to stay somewhat conservative. No rub at all if using stock wheels. Hope this helps!
Greetings, I would like to ask you a question....with what elevation height do the shock absorbers come in the box already preset, without modifying their height....I ordered a kit and I would appreciate your answer, it is of great importance to me,,,greetings, good video
GREETINGS, I NEED TO ASK YOU A QUESTION, AND AT THE END OF THE VIDEO I SEE YOU DESCRIBING THAT YOU HAVE LEFT YOUR 4 RUNNER IN THE SAME SIZE OR IS IT THE MARK WHEN YOU TAKE IT OUT OF THE BOX. I PLAN TO MAKE AN UPGRADE WITH THEM BUT I DON'T WANT TO MODIFY ANYTHING BEFORE PUTTING THEM ON, I JUST WANT TO INSTALL THEM AND THEN SEE WHAT RIDE HEIGHT THEY ARE REMAINING FROM, SO I CAN SEE YOU HAVE AN EXCELLENT HEIGHT ON YOUR 4 RUNNER IF YOU HAVE IT CONFIGURED AS THEY CAME IN THE BOX IS EXCELLENT THAT WAY IN ITS CONFIGURATION. Sick runner🤙🏽I have the stage 1 right now set on the lowest clip on my runner and after a while it settled down and now it sits lower than some 3 inch. You think the stage 2 would provide that fully 3 inch lift? I also live on the big island so mostly just a cruiser and weekend beach with the family
I like the 4runner for what/all it is. It isnt the biggest or baddest out there. It has its place, and should maybe remain in its niche. Jeeps have fenders outside their bodies, and even those have become monsters. UTVs also have a niche.
I have this kit on my 20 ORP and it’s a big disappointment, after 6 months the noises keep coming from rear back and I tried many ways but still couldn’t fix it. Wish I went with something better.
Sorry for the delay Mark. Not it doesn't. I know the non-KDSS models will include a sway bar drop bracket but not needed for KDSS since it has more down travel for better off-road capabilities!
I have their coilover kit, stock in back for the "level" look. Going to put a shocks and springs in the back to get more height and bring back to factory rake while lifted. any suggestions?
I'm looking to get a 4runner but not sure if I should go KDSS or non KDSS with aftermarket suspension upgrade. I'm concerned about possible KDSS lean and possible extra maintenance. Will aftermarket suspension upgrades handle body roll as good as KDSS? I'm looking for a max 2.5 inch lift.
Great questions. I've lifted both and KDSS definitely helps the 4Runner handle WAY better, particularly with body roll and cornering at speed. The lean also is easily eliminated by opening the KDSS shutter valve during suspension installation. This is something we recently learned about and purchased the KDSS correction spacers. I personally prefer KDSS over non. Also using an adjustable coilover is recommended to get it exactly how you want the 4R to sit. Yes JBA. The quality ride is very similar. Settled at 2.75" after the adjustment when we cranked it up too high then lowered it back down. You have to trim the inner fender liner plastic and BMC
@@everydaybettereverydaystronger Hi, great video I purchased the OME150PR10 trim pack, never knew they existed before watching your video :).
