I've decided to do a new and longer version of budgie body language because I made many mistakes with the last one. I hope it will teach you something new about budgies and will help you to understand your pet better ♡

If you pull the tail feathers out so there is no longer any tail on your little birdie, then pull the long outer feathers out so he/she can no longer fly, you then have what looks like a "half bird"! 🤣🤣

Glad to say that my birds have only ever exhibited the happy emotions while I’ve had them!
I remember back when I was training them to come to my hand, one of them was brave enough to fly across the room for the millet. The other would just stand on top of the cage frustrated that I wasn’t coming to her. When my other lil guy flew back over - he would regurgitate in her mouth. I thought it was the most adorable thing!

    Love your channel 😍 !
When Budgies sleep with their head by their wing or on their back that is normal sleeping positions. The 1-2 millimeters difference of wing and back is specific. If the bird is talking, head bobbing, eating, playing, flying, chattering, kissing, etc he is healthy and it is just a sometimes preferred sleeping position. If the Budgie is constantly borrowing and quiet, lethargic and tail bobbing that is a concern and an avian vet can possibly help easy your worries. My Budgie puts his head on his back to sleep when he’s over stimulated by the day and takes a quick nap.

I realized recently that don’t deserve a budgie. I won’t own one until I can give it the best life possible. But, I will visit my local bird shop and visit the friends (budgies) that I have met this week very frequently. I will be very sad to see them go to a good home but I will be happy to know that I haven’t taken one to an insufficient habitat. I am building a room/mini aviary that may be home to one someday. Every day I learn things about them that may challenge my lifestyle. I think every aspiring bird owner should try maintaining a habitat that could easily accommodate one of these beautiful souls before buying one. If you don’t have the time to set up a home for them, I don’t think you will have the time to bond with one.

Have you done anything that might have lost any trust the bird had in you? If so it’s going to be really hard to gain it’s trust back, I’d recommend starting off by sitting by the cage for a while so they recognize you better and get use to you, once they get used to you being near them you can try feeding them by hand, once your bird steps onto your hand you’re bird still might not be ready to leave the cage yet so continue letting your bird go on your hand and once you know they trust you, you can take them out and spend time with them. Hope this helped but also remember training a parakeet can be different for everyone, example: It took me a month to train mine but it took a week and a half for my friend to train hers.

Well, is it normal for them to pluck out their own feathers every now and then?? I heard they do it out of boredom so I bought a toy for my bird, it seems to do it less but I just want to make sure.

I've had my budgie for about five months now and he refuses to eat any fresh foods. I know it's important for them not to just consume seeds and such so does anyone have any advice on how I can get him to eat some? Whether it be specific foods I haven't tried or a technique I'd really appreciate it. I've tried apples (slices), blue berries, raspberries, carrots, spinach, cilantro, and lettuces. Anything would be helpful:)

My girl Buttons has recently started bringing up food from her crop to try and feed my fingernail... Is this just her way of showing that I'M her "mate", or perhaps (since she's just about 2 years old) a sign of developing mothering instincts?

A question why do budgies mate with hand and other things, my male one has done it to my hand almost ever since he learned to step up, my brother's, and other objects kinda worried

my dad was very upset when i told him what tail wagging meant and that my budgies do it whenever they see me xD He always thought he was thier favorite. Also, my birds are very attached to each other and cant stand to be apart, if they are they start chirping as loud as they can without stopping until they are together again.. is this bad?
