2 things 1: I landed that jet with only 1 engine working and 2: the VAM (Vertical Attack Missile) I think that's what it's called in vtol vr has a approximate range of 12 nm (nautical miles) from my experience at least
@@TheFerretsWheels I finally dipped my toes into jamming and had to come back and watch again. The learning curve is steep. Did you create this mission or do you recall the name of it? I miss your content man, it's really good.
I think what I might try for single player is setting a bunch of waypoints and making that into a path for the autopilot to follow while I'm in the back with more EW screens and control
3:43 do you need something turned on or installed for that screen to work as mine looks blank when i go into it. theres no bands noise or green bars or anything i can interact with on that page.
I think I got high and low mixed up at that time. The best method to check what is pinging you is the FRAZ screen. That shows the azimuth (direction) which you can then reference using the compass points on the TSD
DRFM basically copies the signal it receives and sends it back. So the first signal it sends could be in the medium or the lower end of the high band and when the missile goes pitbull the tracking moves from the missile launcher to the onboard radar. This could change the frequency but as DRFM returns the signal it receives it automatically changes signal to match
The MW in the mission Dead Island is behaving kinda weird tho. Even when jammed fully it tracks the missial and shoots it down. Even when fully yamming the EW as well. Dont know why that is.
Possible that the jamming is causing it to miss slightly. The IR launchers also have their own short range scanners so cooking the MW truck isn’t 100% guaranteed to stop them shooting down your missile. Finally, when selecting a target on TSD the info box in the lower right will have a coloured bar at the top. The fuller the bar, the better the lock on target. Snapping the TGP to the target (within 25 miles) can help get a better firing solution. Shooting from long range with a poor solution can make you miss the target slightly
If you turn to the side (reasonable, to avoid getting close) you move the jammer, and thus the jam corridor, to the side. The further the weapon gets out of the jam corridor, the easier it is to detect.
I had no idea lock-on-jam missiles were a thing. I was so confused how I was always getting shot down by missiles without any RWR lock warning. Great video! On a side note, AGM-88s (and HARMs in general) seem to be bugged. They will ALWAYS give a "SHOOT" indication, regardless of range. Further, the range indicator in the HUD doesn't always appear. This happens primarily when selecting targets from the TSD. This seems odd to me, and no other weapon appears to work this way. Is this a bug, or is there something I'm not understanding?
I tend to ignore the range indicator for ground target. The AGM145s for instance can get a kill over 60 miles if you are high and fast enough yet the range indicator shows max range of about 15 miles
Additionally, why do you jam EWs? My understanding is that they cannot guide sams and therefore pose no threat, but are more of an objective. Correct me if I’m wrong, comprehensive strategic-level info seems to be very scarce.
When doing some testing I found that the AGM188s would sometimes stray off target slightly. With jammers off I didn’t see the drift. My logical conclusion was that the noise the jammers were sending was effecting targeting
Depending on how you set up the mission you can still have EW radars as a detection method. There is a trigger in the mission maker for on detection so even if there is no direct connection to a SAM launcher it can still trigger enemies to hunt you down
@@TheFerretsWheelsthanks for your reply and the helpful information. I was noticing similar issues with 188s and recently stopped using them. I’ll give them another go with your advice.
Do you have to toggle the DRFM jam off and on in between incoming missiles? I'm curious what would happen if it stayed on between two missile shots. I was making the mistake tonight of thinking I had to DRFM jam the missile itself. That made things very difficult and I wasn't a very good EWO. And does DRFM jam work the same on enemy air units? edit: from the manual for the EF-24G "Optimal strategy to go jam (post-launch DRFM specific): 1. Ensure in EW Master Mode (RECOMMEND EWO TASK) 2. Set a pod to DRFM, max power, one antenna 3. Select the missile using one of the following: 3.a. TSD 3.b. FRAZ Note: the FRAZ is the easiest display to select missile on as they will be shown at the very top of the high band section 4. Start jamming 5. Perform hard maneuvers to exit radar FOV if ARM" So I'm wondering if you got lucky in your video when you pulled off or what. Problem is, it feels like the missiles are hard to see to snag on the TSD/FRAZ before it's too late.
If you are jamming the same unit then you shouldn’t need to reset the jammer. If the unit tracking you is different then you will need to switch. Jamming using DRFM just spoofs the return signal slowly moving the radar return off your aircraft. The greater the distance, the longer the jamming has to spoof your position and the higher the chance of evading. If the missile is active radar guided then it still has the potential to require if it is close enough for “burn through” which is why heavy manoeuvring is also advised the throw off potential reacquires as the missile is going to be heading to where it thinks you are. By moving as far away in 3D space from your original trajectory you increase your chances of surviving
Question, when i bring up the XMIT tab, I do not have access to the pwr option, and the screen stays blank except the outlines. Am i not turning something on?
How to set autopilot Speed? In previous models u just turn the button and adjust till your desired speed. In the EF-24G u can only press a button for current speed. I just cant find it. Do I have to click AP ON/OFf and then where to adjust speed?
@@TheFerretsWheels Thanks Bro! But isnt this a downgrade. If a bandit or friend is changig his speed slighty I could just turn the button to adjust to exakt speed. In the mieschief these small adjustment are not possible anymore. U would have to use the throttle and "wait" till u have the desired speed and push the button SPD again instead of just turning the damn button :)
The king is back
Radar operator: "ummm sir.... theres several animals incoming"
This is the best Jamming video by far. You always explain just enough.
I’ve been waiting for this lol
Also your bird talking at the beginning is very cute btw
Thanks gamer. It’s been much too long since I posted something useful
Only found your channel recently after watching the live with Spicey Gavino, would be good to watch from the pilot point of view. Great videos.
Maybe one day we will get a dual stream going
Finally I can figure out how to play this game again
I love your videos. You’re my favorite TH-camr right now keep it up

thank you kind soul.
Ok, didnt know that the X on the Jammer screen ment that the Jammer is blocked, good to know.

The XMIT page shows your jammer pods so if you have no pods equipped you would get nothing in that screen
Большое спасибо. Многое стало понятней.
Happy to have helped gamer
23:17 Is the colored lines on the TSD the colors he actually says it is? I just want to make sure I know whats picking me up.

I've heard the DRFM switches to high noise mode automatically when the target gets too close. Do you know if that is true?

Why do you turn off all jammers shortly before missile impact? Does noise jamming interfere with anti radiation missile accuracy?

If you have jammers mounted/equipped and you’re in the air then I’m not sure without seeing myself.
how do i get the XMIT menu to actually work? every time i try it the transmitter settings are gray and i can't do anything with it
Each column on the XMIT screen is for each jammer position/hard points. If there is no jammer pod on the hard point then it will be grayed out

There is no speed adjustment for the mischief, it’s more of a speed hold. It also only works up to mil power
