I'm just getting into VTOL VR (and kicking myself for waiting so long) so I've been watching a lot of tutorials. I can confidently say that yours are the best I've seen by solid margin. I watched your video on carrier landings before this and wow, that really simplified it for me. I was having trouble controlling my speed and your video reminded me that I forgot about the damned air brake!!! LOL! Thanks for putting these videos together for us and keep up the great work!

Thanks, that helped a lot. I've been playing DCS (in VR) for many years now but I got VTOL a couple of days ago for a change of pace and it's a lot of fun. I picked a lot of thing by just trying but the TGP confused me a little.

I've been sim racing in VR for years, and I've always wanted to get into DCS. The learning curve was just too steep for the amount of time I had to put into it. So I'm starting with VTOL and plan to switch over once I get more comfortable with the basics. So I wanted to ask, for a VR player, would you recommend starting with the low fidelity aircraft or might it be easier to jump into a high fidelity module? My thinking is, since I can't see the keyboard or other out-of-game controls, it might be easier to use the switches and controls in the in-game cockpit. Any advice you care to give is greatly appreciated.

@@angryginger791 Personally i would recommend the Heatblur F-14 Tomcat. Since you get an AI Backseater (Jester) it is surprisingly easy, of course if you find someone to hop into the back seat in Multiplayer it's even more fun. But jester takes care of your radar and also can guide GBUs onto ground target, you only have to fly the thing. The startup is also very short and easy (Jester aligns the INS and can add waypoints and stuff). The flight model is a little harder since there is no fly by wire but when you can fly the Tomcat, something like the Hornet is kind of easy. Also it is from a fidelety standpoint the best module that's out there by a long shot.

This is amazingly good! (Beats the pants off the other TGP tutorial I found.) Hard to believe you managed to pack so much info into a video less than 10 minutes long, and yet perfectly understandable.

Brilliant tutorial!! I wish it was possible to zoom in/out using joystick, without using head tracking mode. Effectively flying a plane, aiming TGP and zooming in with the other hand at the same time is an art by itself:)

You just use the thumbstick on your throttle. Left and Right chooses which MFD sensor is SOI, forward backward zooms, while TGP is SOI, or while it's displayed through HMCS.

@@michaelwestmoreland2530so this works on the newer planes but the last time I played about a 2 months ago you couldn’t do it with the wasp. Did they recently add it

it is possible. i believe it only works on non-VTOL planes as the left thumbstick controls VTOL there.
