I haven't even finished watching yet, but want to say thanks in advance. Phenomenal instruction! You give details, warnings, and the reasoning for them. Probably the best car repair video I've seen, and I'm cheap, so I always look for the DIY option.

Very well explained..easily understandable...a notch above what we often see on TH-cam. Keep up the great work

Thanks. You got me through the job, no problem. My car has been garaged so I didn't have any rust to deal with.

so my only question is, how hard was it to get that tension bar seated back into the bracket on the back of the caliper? was it a pain to get seated and would you say it would be a more difficult job if done on jackstands?

I'm going to doing the same for my 2008 kia Rondo and removing that bolt - hopefully I won't need a air tool - my question is - what is the torque value for that bolt ??

My Rondo is a bit newer (2015) but the only way to get the piston back into the rear caliper is to turn it in. (I had a chevy with the same set up on the rear caliper once and I wasted a lot of energy trying to push it back in, very frustrating!) I just thought I'd mention it in case someone else who watches has a newer Rondo...if the piston won't go back in it could be because it is meant to twist in.

    Hi Jim,
Turns out one of my rear rotors/brakes has seized. Rotors have been rusted suggesting the brakes aren't engaging and cleaning the rotors after use. What are my options?

Most of the time if the brakes are not grabbing there will be a lot of rust were the brake pads fit into the caliper bracket. If you can send me a picture I can tell you what to do.

Great video Jim, i ve a question and appreciate your reply, does same steps apply to 2012 in terms of removing that axle behind to reach the caliber bolt?
