These are surprisingly similar to discovery brakes , be glad they dont have all the auto adjuster junk in them too ,, nice to see the removed wheel under the sill ,,, great job.
When my shoes fell apart it was locking the wheel in reverse. I just removed the pads that fell off and adjusted them so the brake would lock when i pull the handle. Easiest cheapest way to repair it. Works fine now
@@richg.2579 this did that, I just took the drum off and let the bits fall out as it’s an auto and the handbrake is never used. Had to fit the new shoes for MOT though
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos If it is not your car forget it, but if it's your, you treat it really bad and missed a lot, like not using brake cleaner, no greasing behind the pads, no grease on those springs you move out and put back, etc. For me was a really bad work.
@@HeydaCarreras sorry it wasn’t up to your high standards. You shouldn’t really use grease inside the drum. Usually does more harm than good, I did gave it a quick clean with a wire brush which I didn’t really show on camera and no amount of brake cleaner is going to wash the rust off which is probably what’s making it look dirtier than it actually is. Not to a detailing level of clean, but clean enough from a functional point of view.
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos Well, if I were you trust me, the video will be 100% sure the best on the internet. First those parts inside are stationers, doesn't move too much, just the shoes, so a little grease or spray will be good, and nothing hurt at all. I wish you can see my Kia soul 2012 rear or front brakes, don't look like that at all.
As ever sir, you come across like a professional 😁😁

Good job done 👍
Thanks mate
one question, the parking brake for this car is on the 2 rear sides wheels or only on ne side.?
It is on both rear wheels
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos thanks
Lucky my soul is intact and holds the car well
No new soles needed on your shoes then?
Good video 👌
Cheers G
Here for the algorithm
Thanks mate, gotta keep chasing that algorithm
You forgot one thing those high spots on the backing plate requires grease to make the shoes glide on the backing plate.
I would always recommend replacing the springs also they are cheap
Why aren't disc brakes used all round? 🤔
They are. This is just for the handbrake
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos Yes, I realised later in the video. Thought they were drums like on C1 to start with.
@@AC-um2mk speaking of which, the rear shoes on that are still on the list of things I’ve got to do…
@@StupidBlokeStupidVideos Mine always seem to stick a bit after being stood even just a day or two 🫤 Seems like a bad design to me.
