Thank you for another great video! The wreath card is my favorite, but they are all great. I use my Gelli plate to hold die cuts while I'm coloring them. Then, I can use the residual ink for a background on either the same card or another project.
I use my old Cricut mats too! I give them a cleaning and let dry. I cut them into 4 pcs...and I cut the clear sheet as well into 4 pcs. I then die cut leaves, flowers, sentiments, etc. in advance. Place them on the Cricut mats and cover with the clear sheet, which keep the dust off. I scotch tape the clear sheet along the top edge, so it stays with the mat. These fit into a showbox for easy storage. Also, I just bought an embossing folder that has a linen texture.
Oh, this is NOT too long! So many cool cards you showed, adding texture to die cuts. These tips will add pizzas to my handmade cards! Thank you so much! By the way, you have such a pleasant voice for videos, and you have everything ready, and are not running to get something you’ve forgotten in the middle of the video. I imagine that you do voice-overs and edit, which takes effort and time, but is greatly appreciated! Thank you!
A tip for your water. After you fill the bottle, leave the lid off for 24 hours. The gases in your water will evaporate. My husband is an environmental scientist and we do this for the water we use for our coffee and tea.
Great tip...especially if you don't have water filtration for it! Chlorine and other disinfectants on city water, or sulfur and other gases on well water!
Such lovely cards, I think your first is my favourite. Although I don't have any of those dies I will try the formula with dies I do have. Thanks for sharing 😊
Thank you! I will always encourage you to use what you have. Sometimes, you can recreate something close with other things hanging around your craft room. 🩷
Love your cards!! I found a sticky mat on amazon that is close to the waffle flower one and it is a lot cheaper!!! That is a great idea to use your circut mat!!

@@villagecardandcraftsI found it. Then saw it was linked below. While I love to save money, ( who doesn't), it looks Iike design theft from Waffle Flower. There is TONS of it on Amazon and not just from T - - - and similar companies. For me that's a deal breaker. To each their own but I want to sleep peacefully with a clear conscience LOL. ❤
@raehenderson if it is a ripoff of Waffle Flower then it’s an absolute no from me. I do not support T… in any fashion. People work far too hard to create their designs for them to be stolen. Thank you for looking into it for me. I think I’lll eventually buy the grip mat, or I’ll stick with mt old Cricut mat.
@@villagecardandcrafts I recently watched a video of Jennifer McGuire showcasing incredible card designs using those particular inks. Being new to crafting, I am currently learning various techniques and determining what supplies to invest in. I have followed your videos and implemented some of your creative ideas. Thank you!
@angelag6156 how kind of you to say that! Choosing ink is a big decision especially since there are differences. You have to like the look, what they can be used for, and how easy they are to use.
@@villagecardandcrafts, I like using distress oxide inks because they are easy to blend and versatile. I also have some Catherine Pooler and Altenew inks. Crafting can be expensive. The price of my current cardstock, Accent Opaque 80 and 100 lbs, has increased from $13 and $15 to $35. I'm looking for good quality cardstock that is not overpriced. Do you have any recommendations?
@angelag6156 crafting is so expensive! I do use Accent Opaque 100 lbs cardstock. It’s far cheaper than the 120 lb. Here’s what I use so you can compare. amzn.to/3qNFucB
I refuse to buy these expensive sticky mats. I also kept my cricket stickies but I did ,some time ago, buy a Gelly pad..sticks great to stencil, wipes off easily and is always sticky but doesn't misshapen the card.
Which card was your favorite?
The wreath card...though I've also had my eye on the JOY die. :D
They're really all lovely, but I think I like the wreath the most. Thank you!

Don't fret over using an old cricket mat! If it works, good for you! Waffle flower grip mats are pricey! Thx for being real!!😊
Oh I’m real alright 🤣. I call it the way I see it (sometimes a closed mouth gathers no foot 😂…geez if only I could remember that! ).
Love your ideas.
Have you seen or used the Lisa Horton Cloud 9 interference ink?

I'm wondering by the direction of the labels on your ink pads, do you store those upside down?
Good question! No they are stored in the Tim Holtz storage bins which puts them on their sides.
