- This 2200 mile 1970 Camaro SS 350 ci that is receiving its first wash in years after sitting in storage in Pennsylvania. By disaster detail standards, this is brand new. Untouched. The owner drove it once ...then put it back in storage. The Camaro is the lowest miles Chevy of that year I have seen. I performed a "preservation detail" to keep the condition authentic to the day it was picked up from the auction. After a proper car wash and light polish, I added Blue Collar 2 paint sealant instead of a paint coating (Blue Collar 1) to allow the new owner flexibility in how they choose to protect the paint in the future. The before and after is wildly satisfying and the final result is amazing. . Thx for watching!

What is your favorite car or truck from the 70s?
'71 Cowl induction 401 Javelin AMX.
1971 Chevelle
Mine! 1973 camaro. Same orange, but with black stripes. Mines is not quite as nice as this one. Needs interior redone. Me and puppy agree. That one is nice!! Thanks for this car Brian!
Dodge Demon and Dodge Little Red Express are about tied. In reality too many to list. My mom always had AMC Gremlins.
1970 buick GSX or GS
Man, that Camaro brought back some great memories! In 1970, I paid $4000 for a 70 Plymouth Cuda 340, pistol grip shifter, Lime LITE green with a black vinyl top. Today, I have seen that car sell for $50,000 to $70,000+! Great video and thanks for the memories. Oh...here's one for ya...to make the tires shine back then, we used Joy liquid soap!!😉
Can’t wait for the rest of the series on this bad boy!
My all time favorite Camaro in my favorite color combo... My God what absolutely beautiful car. Please make her glorious...
For me personally, I would rather drive it and enjoy it while I am alive. Look after it well. Nice looking classic!
Agree drive that thing it’s already been molested.
Nice split bumper! First time seeing the Shop Manager that interested in something that wasn’t a Corvette.
Great start Brian, had this 70 1/2 Z/28 in HS with a BB and 4:56's, Turbo 400 worked, was a lot of fun. Scoop, the same spoiler as this one, Imron Fire Mist Red paint and drifting decades before it was a thing. Great fun. Always say Yes Sir and No Sir to the DPS and they'll cut you a lot of slack.
Now THAT'S a car!! From a much better time. Beautiful time capsule. Beautiful job but suprized that you didn't touch the reverse side of the hood ..always loved hugger orange!
Brian, this car is astounding. Brings me to my youth. The car and design have aged gracefully. 2200 miles...sheeesh!
Gorgeous colour scheme, lucky dog, Malibu SS ,and also the Monte Carlo
Sweet 2nd gen Camaro!👍
Absolutely gorgeous car.
What an absolute gorgeous car and color Brian, look forward to the final results.
That's an awesome antique toy brian love it..❤
What a beautiful muscle car - great memory as I had an orange Dodge Dart Demon (Mopar)..
I bought a 1970 Camaro with a 350 and a 4-speed for $1500 back in 1992. It wasn’t numbers matching but I didn’t care about that. Loved that car. It was brown outside with tan interior.
Unreal! Wow.
Man, that is sharp!!!
What a beauty!!!!
Pretty awesome car !!
Beautiful car and I'm a Mopar guy.
Great video, Brian. It's hard to believe the low mileage on that car. Looking forward to seeing it all finished. BTW...that color is called Hugger Orange in Chevrolet lore.
Correct… just picked up a quart for minor touch up.
Awesome video and content good friend
Mint condition!
Great video buddy tfs
The Plymouth Barracuda! Nothing like a 383 Mopar!
I really like that one👍🏻 I had a 78
With CA and the Feds putting pressure on car buyers to purchase EVs by ~2033, the prices of old normally aspirated cars will go through the ceiling!
CA needs to just fall off into the Pacific
Beautiful car. 70 chevelle 454. My dad had one when I was a kid. But he sold it to buy his first Jeep. He kick himself every day
Was hoping (and figured) this one would make the cut after posting on Instagram. Love me some old gems
Beautiful car! We need more color on cars these days! They’re all black and white or silver
I like the Chargers and Challengers from the 70s. Would love a original with a 426
Wow. The perfect second gen... a split bumper ss 350 with a muncie in Hugger orange.
I'd trade a limb for it, seller's choice.
Wow super nice Brian is this going to be a series that would be great thanks
Trans Am from Smokey and the Bandit. Or a 74 Chevy Truck for me
What is a dry foam? You had mentioned it during the engine bay detail.
70 Cuda! I had a 72 Challenger w/440 Magnum!
1970 Chevelle ss 396 with cowl induction.
I had one. Had black vinyl top.
Might be number matching but that’s not the original cam
2200 miles with 1 season drive in later 72? So someone modified the engine put stereo in, different exhaust, possible cam, has incorrect white emblems on fenders just for the heck of it and its still original....i smell BS
The hammer price definitely reflected that according to the paper work.
Love those Gen 2 Camaros, but you still can't beat the beauty of a '69 Z28. That said, how do you create a dry foam with a MJJC foamer? Is it filled only with Apex Auto Wash and no water? I'm on the lookout for a 1972 LT1 so I'm closely following your detailing techniques for single stage paint, distributors, carbs, etc. Keep these great videos coming.
A 50/50 mix.👍🏻👍🏻
Beautiful car/ How much dry rot would there be on a car sitting so long?
Great question. Subjective to where it was stored.
🤩
1968 Pontiac GTO 4 speed convertible.
Hey Brian, great video. Wondering what product, you use to clean the white letters? Back in the day we used Westley's Bleech White. Awesome car, I am one of the very few that likes the full bumper better than the split bumpers. 70-73 Camero's are one of my favorite cars of all time.
Scrub pad and Phoenix EOD Kraken.
This may be the coolest car you have had on a video. The sound system would have to go because the real music is from the engine. It has been so long since I worked on a carburetor or points I would have to google to learn how again. Thank you as this will be a fun series. Any idea how much horsepower the engine is making from the flywheel?
Edelbrock sells self learning carbs. Much more reliable.
Whoa! I almost bought a '73 green Camaro SS w/396 and the rally package. I think ~20K miles... then the gas crisis hit! 😮
Nice. My favorite has been the Volvo 145s manual transmission and the Camaro 454, as a truck Chevrolet C10 manual transmission in the column wheel.
Too bad the original blue door vin sticker is mysteriously gone (on a 22 k mile car)The door sounded like it was dragging on the striker too (and rattley )which is weird. Not to mention all the changes to the engine /incorrect hub caps (and ralley wheels)
Unusually for Brian, this video delivered less than it initially promised. Prefer to maybe have less foaming and rinsing footage, and show the whole detailing process in a single video. Still looking forward to part 2 though👍
As the title mentions only a wash. … it was spot on.
Not stock. Has a high lift cam. After market air cleaner. Would like to see the under carriage. 2200 miles.? 1/4 mile at a time. Time to beat the snot out of it. Waiting to see the finale. 😇
I think I know the owner....Wolfskill?
I love this machine but in 1970 🤷🏻♂️ charger r/t
Was this a Van Nuys CA or a Norwood OH car? I grew up within 20 miles of the Norwood plant which closed in August 1987 because of the absenteeism and other UAW union problems which made GM close it
the 7th digit in the vin # is an "L"...so it was built in the Van Nuys plant. If it were an "N"...it would be a Norwood OH build.
I always feel sad when there are so few miles on a car. The owner didn't get any use from it. I understand they could still get enjoyment with it sitting there but it certainly isn't the highest level of its function.
Yeah skipped right over that tub of armor all wipes in the trunk 😂
Lol… it’s at the bottom of my dumpster.
First thing I would do with a classic like that is drop a couple massive Bazooka subs in the trunk to scare the kids in the 7/11 parking lot with my loud Bob Seger. Huh?
😂😂😂
Brian, You've been lied too or otherwise deceived. 1) Camaro SS didnt come with Z28 Stripes 2) The CAUTION FAN Fan Shroud wasnt correct in 1970 3) The Complete Exhaust System is Aftermarket, NOT OEM 4) The WHITE Colored SS Emblem on Fenders is wrong...They were BLACK from Factory 5) Trunk Spatter Paint is NOT Original 6) Wheels/Trim Tings are 1st Gen Camaro [1967] , 7) Stainless Trim around Pedals Wasnt OEM 8) Radiator Overflow Bottle wasnt avail 1970 9) Air Cleaner is Aftermarket.....Im just writing to say this is NOT a Unrestored Survivor.........It is a INCORRECTLY Restored 70 Hugger Orange SS...........
And the panel gap on the hood was terrible. What builder would walk off and leave that. The owner must have to many cars to properly maintain them, sad to see.
This car has been restored and has at least 102K miles on it. Give me a break!
not original 1979 washer jug 79 brake booster late model engine
Lots of cobbling for a 2200 mile car. Under hood is a mess.
I understand that Brian isnt into Classic Camaro Restoration, but for him to gush over and imply the originality of this Orange Camaro is just SO WRONG !!!!!!!!!!
What is so wrong is your statement. There was NO mention of originality. In fact … otherwise. If you have a hard time following along with English… I apologize. It’s the only language I know for now.
@@apexdetail85 What does "ONLY 2200 Miles" mean the Header of the Video....First Wash in Years ......Implies What??? Car is obviously not a "Barn Find" Unrestored Original........My only intent in writing was to inform You and your Mega Viewing Audience that this Camaro is in no where near Original ....
@@chucksharin588 there was no mention…. Anywhere of a barn find. And for someone that presents himself with a keen eye also missed the question mark in the title. And again… in the beginning of the video… I sarcastically hinted to the outlandish additions. All this without potentially ruffling feathers of a regular customer that regularly watches the channel and is already aware of what he has. You have made your point… now numerous times… we get it sir.
@@chucksharin588 Not to worry, He's video header really meant " Only 2200 miles!!! "... since last spark plug change.
