I've been playing P5S on my Switch handheld in different places around the house for the last week and now everybody in the house is bopping to this song. They don't even play videogames or know what the hell I'm playing but when I ambush some shadows everybody starts bopping with me and the bois lol.
I also play Haru primarily because I find her crowd control combos to be the most effective out of any party member. Well she’s my favourite persona 5 character too but it’s an awesome coincidence for her to be so cool and have such a wonderful skill set.
Considering how graceful this song is, I'm hoping that this plays if Haru gets her own moment to shine or something. I mean, it suits her too much to be a coincidence.
This song is quite appropriate for Strikers, as the Phantom thieves are basically metaverse professionals by the time they fight in the jails, they know what they’re doing and they’re doing it good. Axe to Grind is basically a flex of confidence and badassery. Love it.

I hope Atsushi Kitajoh gets a major project at some point, he mostly just does persona spin offs, so i hope the next main game will be like half meguro half kitajoh or something like that
i love this song for multiple reasons, its my favorite battle theme across p5, r, and s subjectively, its english lyrics are very thematically fitting for p5s specifically "i change hearts but not the mind" speaks to the fact that the phantom thieves only affect one person at a time and they never seek to manipulate people for personal gain, they change just make people admit toxic behaviors and change them. on top of that, its my favorite song of the persona 5 catalogue to drum to, although Sae's palace theme and the various boss battle songs are also v fun to drum to.
I mean, if you wanted to stretch it and run it has a little bit of the Steam Gardens funkiness and the rock groove of the escape song, but that's about it.
Songs like this makes me wish there was a persona 5 arena like with this song in the background while i don’t know, adachi from persona 4 and haru are fighting in kamoshida’s palace (i know it sounds like a fanfic but it’s the same thing as junpei iori vs rise in junes and that’s a real game)
