I might have missed this but, what video file formats work with the new units? AVI? MPEG? MP4? I cant seem to get anything to work on my thumbdrive besides mp3 files. Thanks in advance

Thanks for the video. I have a Pioneer AVH-25OO. I did everything you've explained in this video. Once I've inserted the USB flash drive, I've noticed the music will play perfectly, but the video or photo files will not display on the double DIN head unit. When I play a video file, the caution notice pops up and will not allow me to hit the OK icon the Pioneer head unit. Could this issue be the head unit or the wiring?
You’ll need to engage the vehicle’s Parking Brake in an ON-OFF-ON operation in order to access see video on the receiver screen. This might also be known as the Hand Brake or the Emergency Brake. You can see this demonstrated in the video here: th-cam.com/video/KWaYfYk90IU/w-d-xo.html If you engage the vehicle’s Parking Brake and still can’t see the video, the in-dash receiver’s Green Parking Brake Wire may have an incorrect connection to vehicle. I just got the 4500nex and I have 2 320gb USB sticks loaded with movies music and music videos and nothing happens when I plug them in. They are fat32. I didn't format them. Is it because they're too big in size? Or should I contact my installer?
There are a few different issues that may be going on. 1st. When a drive is plugged into the receiver's USB port, and you change the receiver to the USB1 or USB2 Source, if there is a problem with the drive, the receiver will usually display a message similar to " incompatible USB" This tells me the USB port you are using may not be connected to the back of the new receiver. Are you plugging in the USB flash drives to the back of the in-dash receiver? Or, are you plugging the USB flash drives into a USB port in the vehicle? If you're attempting to use a USB port in the vehicle, are you certain that it has been connected to the back of the new in-dash receiver? Just because you have a USB port in the vehicle doesn't mean it's been connected to the new in-dash receiver. You can see the USB ports on the Pioneer AVH-W4500NEX here: th-cam.com/video/-JidsPPVKnA/w-d-xo.html One USB extension is included in the box with the receiver. I recommend to plug your USB drive directly into the USB extension that came with the receiver for best operation. And by the way, there is an SD card slot behind the screen of your AVH-W4500NEX that can be used for playback of digital media as well. 2nd, For a drive larger than 32 GB I recommend formatting the drive as NTFS. When using an NTFS formatted drive, there is no particular limit to the number of folders or files that can be accessed by the receiver. You can find a full playlist of How To videos about Pioneer NEX in-dash receivers here: th-cam.com/video/GX8bETHjZkg/w-d-xo.html and you can find more videos on Pioneer's TH-cam Channel here: th-cam.com/users/pioneerelectronics
Would it work to plug a USB hub into the AVH-1330NEX USB port to allow multiple USB devices to be connected at once, for example to use CarPlay on an iPhone and at the same time listen to FLAC audio from a UBS stick? Thanks in advance for info you can provide on this!
A USB Hub will not work with the AVH-1330NEX. Other products are available with two USB ports. Check out this video: th-cam.com/video/g5juaKNXr90/w-d-xo.html
i tried that no luck, must be a voltage deal, so what i did was got a HDMI-RCA-USB cable, put the RCA in the back, hook up the USB to a butt plug cigarette lighter hole, and turn on AV input. Use the main USB on the back the radio, for Carplay, and unplug it to add a USB flash drive to it.
Hello. I have AVH 2300. On my drop down menu I don't have the USB source shortcut. Do you have to have a USB stick on the USB extension to be able to view it on the drop menu? Thank you.
When you plug in a USB thumb drive with some music or movies on it the USB source will appear. You can find more videos about AVH-2300NEX here: th-cam.com/video/kpKYks-17gM/w-d-xo.html
Hi, I have an AVH-13300 NEX. Nice unit, but I use it a lot to play movies when driving long distances. But I have a couple of issues. The first thing here is that when playing some files around minute 50 the movie looses sound, If I go back and play the same file earlier, then I get sound again. If I open that file in my computer or in my plex server I have no problem. The other issues are that I can not select other audio tracks or subtitles. Have you had some issues like this one? I tryed upgrading the firmware, but it gave me the same result. Thanks.
On the files where you lose the audio at 50 minutes, what is the file size of those files compared to the files that play through with no issues? Is it possible, the max file size limit is reached on that file but not on others that play through OK? Also on the files where audio is lost at 50 minutes, if that file is rendered as 2 separate files (for example: the first 45 minutes of the movie as file 1 and the 2nd 45 minutes of the movie as file 2) does that same issue occur at the same point in the movie? Or will it play through? I know it's not perfect, but it may be a work around for the issue. As for other audio tracks and subtitles. Please be sure your encoder is including other audio tracks and subtitles to the final video. Does the AVH-1330NEX show a 2 or 3...in the audio track button? Does it show a subtitle button? If not, it may not be able to read the audio and subtitle data, or it's not included. A work around here may be to encode the movie audio with the main language you want instead of trying to change the audio with AVH-1330NEX. You can find more videos about Pioneer AVH-1330NEX in this Pioneer Playlist: th-cam.com/video/OhxjLAeSSTU/w-d-xo.html and you can find more videos on Pioneer's You Tube channel here: th-cam.com/users/pioneerelectronics
@@deckerdotto6035 Thanks for answering. All the files are less than 4 GB (between 1.2 and 2 GB) I knew 4 GB was the limit. I will give a try and divie one of those files to see what happens. Regarding the audio tracks I am not sure, but I think there is not even a 1. Can I reach you through e-mail? So I can share you some pictures and 2 movie files, one that plays ok and other that looses sound. Thanks a lot!
If you have Pioneer AVH-2300NEX, you have a very powerful in-dash receiver with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and built in Bluetooth. Say I have some mp3 files encoded in mono, or various sampling rates. Are there any sampling-rates or bit-rates that the Pioneer AVH-3300NEX has difficulty with? Also, does this unit support long audiobooks of 80+ minutes?
The AVH-3300NEX can playback mp3 files with bit rates from 8kbps to 320kbps in both constant or variable bit rates with sampling frequencies from 16kHz to 48kHz. Long audio books work fine. Press and hold the arrow buttons for fast forward and rewind within a track. Folders can hold multiple files with different bit rates. It is not compatible with MP3i, MP3PRO or M3u playlist. You can find more videos about the AVH-3300NEX here: th-cam.com/video/ibWu0o2hW24/w-d-xo.html
To delete a file from the USB flash drive I recommend to use a computer. As of 2019 October, Pioneer NEX in-dash receivers do not recognize playlists on a USB flash drive. They can play and repeat all songs inside a folder on the USB drive. Any playlist on your phone can be played back through USB with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto depending upon your system. I have an older 4 runner (gen 4) and they make a product that I want to ask if it will work. It is MICTUNING USB Car Charger with Audio for Toyota with 6.6ft Power Wire 3.9ft Audio Wire (Stereo USB Connector Needed). It would plug into the USB, give two USB inputs but you have to hook it to a power source. One is a charger and the other is the plug in to the back of the unit. Thanks
I'm sorry, I'm not familiar at all with the product you are describing. The in dash receiver will charge a USB connected phone. 2017-2018 Pioneer in dash receivers do not support any type of USB hub with multiple USB inputs for data. If you are looking to charge a 2nd device, it may be easier to find a simple USB charger. You can find more videos about AVH-2300NEX here: th-cam.com/video/kpKYks-17gM/w-d-xo.html

Yes, selected Pioneer in-dash receivers are perfectly capable of this through USB however not every receiver. This very much depends upon the model number of the Pioneer receiver. Some Pioneer receivers have no particular limit to the number of files and folders or size of the attached USB drive. For example: DMH-WT8600NEX seen here: th-cam.com/video/QrvNkGgRo7E/w-d-xo.html or Pioneer DMH-WT7600NEX seen here: th-cam.com/video/O9yXjfuZPtM/w-d-xo.html The Pioneer receiver models show in the video above have a limit of 1,500 folders and 15,000 total files as clearly shown in the formatting section of the video above. You can see it here: th-cam.com/video/KWaYfYk90IU/w-d-xo.html After allowing the system to create a music database, you'll have access to Song, Album, Artist, and Genre search, if that data is carried by the files on the connected drive. You can see it here: th-cam.com/video/KWaYfYk90IU/w-d-xo.html If you want to use something like a 2TB SSD you'll need to consider a couple things for the installation in the vehicle. What are the drive's power requirements. The DMH-WT8600NEX/DMH-WT7600NEX has a USB type C connection with a 5 volt 3 amp current limit. If the drive's power requirements are outside of that, you'll need to find another way to power the drive. Additionally, If you plan to leave this 2TB drive in the vehicle, I strongly recommend to get a drive that is designed for in-vehicle use. The temperature changes and humidity ( think Miami in the summer, and Minneapolis in the winter) changes, dust and vibration in a vehicle can limit the life span of products not designed to be used in a vehicle. If anyone can help I have a AVH-2330NEX and I’ve pretty much tried everything they are doing above but it still doesn’t give me the option to pick a USB. I’m trying to update the firmware and it’s saying that there is an error with USB memory and it’s empty so I’m not sure what’s going on
There is a USB port on the back of the Pioneer AVH-2330NEX. You can see it in this video: th-cam.com/video/s-RuRzsRfE8/w-d-xo.html Are you plugging the, properly formatted USB flash drive, into the back of the Pioneer in-dash receiver? Or are you plugging into a vehicle factory USB port? Are you certain that vehicle factory USB port is connected directly to the back of the AVH-2330NEX in the dash? If not, it won't work. I have a pioneer SPH-DA130DAB and when I play videos the sound only comes from the phone, how do I get it to come from car? Everything else works fine. Thanks
I recommend to playback videos from the USB source. If you are playing videos from an Android Phone, I recommend to check the Auto Mix setting and set it to ON. Also, under the Input/output Settings set AppRadio Mode Sound to AVH. You can see those settings here: th-cam.com/video/OMJ5yJ6157g/w-d-xo.html Please note: Some Android Phones, because of the software design of the phone, will not output audio to the in-dash receiver. You also have the option of running audio and video in through the RCA AV inputs on the back of the in-dash receiver. For this you'll need to choose the AV Source. And you can also choose the Bluetooth Audio Source when playing a video. You can find more videos from Pioneer here: th-cam.com/video/ObpKXwrN8us/w-d-xo.html
No. FLAC will only playback from USB. DVD-R playable file types include: MP3, WMA, AAC, DivX, XVID, MPEG1, 2, 3, and 4. You can find more videos about AVH-2300NEX here: th-cam.com/video/kpKYks-17gM/w-d-xo.html
Deckerd Otto I have a Samsung Galaxy S8 so I can pull up videos but there is no sound because I do not have MHL capabilities. Is there any way around this? I have a AVH 2300 NEX it only has one USB port. Obviously you cannot use AppRadio without a usb connection, would a usb splitter and a Miracast dongle work?
A USB hub is not supported. Both RCA A/V Input and AUX A/V input are available on the back of the in dash receiver. You can see them in this video: th-cam.com/video/s-RuRzsRfE8/w-d-xo.html AppRadio mode will playback videos stored on your phone via USB. When a phone is connected through USB, you can switch back and forth from Android Auto to AppRadio Live by touching the "Galaxy" button on the in dash receiver from the home screen. You can see the in dash receiver home screen with a phone connected in this video: th-cam.com/video/kpKYks-17gM/w-d-xo.html
Deckerd Otto AppRadio plays videos but they have no sound so that's kind of useless. I'm guessing my only option is a aux to AV or a AV connection. I have a galaxy S8 no mhl
This video will show you how to connect your phone for Apple CarPlay: th-cam.com/video/_P3_aPDLK2E/w-d-xo.html Apple CarPlay can also work wireless. Check out this video for Wireless CarPlay: th-cam.com/video/MkWffv3vB6Q/w-d-xo.html
Can anyone help me for AVH X2690BT Pioneer music system. Which format of USB will be played to watch video files. How to mirror Android phone on this system. What accessories requires.
To watch video on AVH-X2690BT you'll need to engage the parking brake. Check out this video for more information on the Green Parking Brake Wire: th-cam.com/video/-bF3uzzaT30/w-d-xo.html Format your USB drive as FAT32. MP4 files at 320 X 740 res. 30 FPS or less. The in dash receiver has RCA input on the back. Video out from your phone will mirror to the screen.

There are a handful of possible options. I recommend to try a different USB Flash Drive, or to try and format the drive again. Also you can try to format the drive on a different computer. When rendering videos, you can experiment with a different frame rate and resolution. The video shown above is 1920 x 1080 at 29.97 fps. You need to have the Parking Brake engaged. This might also be called the Hand Brake. If you engage the Parking Brake and still cannot see video it's possible that your in-dash receiver has an incorrect connection for the Green Parking Brake Wire. You can see more information about the Green Parking Brake Wire in this video: th-cam.com/video/-bF3uzzaT30/w-d-xo.html and you can find more videos about Pioneer AVH-2330NEX here: th-cam.com/video/kpKYks-17gM/w-d-xo.html
In order to watch video on the in-dash receiver screen, the vehicle must be stopped with the Parking Brake Engaged. There are a couple potential issues. First, please be sure to format your videos as shown in video here: th-cam.com/video/KWaYfYk90IU/w-d-xo.html lowering the frame rate or resolution can correct this type of problem. Second, please be sure to install the latest firmware for your Pioneer receiver. Any time you plug in a USB flash drive, the in-dash receiver will attempt to read the drive for playable files. While it's reading the drive, you will see Format Read on the screen. If you have a large drive with thousands of files on the drive, this process may take a few minutes. You can find more videos from Pioneer here: th-cam.com/users/pioneerelectronics
Please be more specific with your question. What is the model number of your Pioneer in-dash receiver? You can find more videos on Pioneer's You Tube Channel here: th-cam.com/users/pioneerelectronics
In most cases yes. It depends on the parameters of the video you download. This is explained in the video above in detail. You can see it here: th-cam.com/video/KWaYfYk90IU/w-d-xo.html You can find more videos about AVH-2300NEX here: th-cam.com/video/kpKYks-17gM/w-d-xo.html
You need to engage the Parking Brake. This may also be called a Hand Brake. Does your car have one of those? As of 2020 February, Pioneer receiver's do not display gif images. If you're attempting to use a USB port in the vehicle, are you certain that it has been connected to the back of the new in-dash receiver? Would it work to plug a USB hub into the AVH-1330NEX USB port to allow multiple USB devices to be connected at once, for example to use CarPlay on an iPhone and at the same time listen to FLAC audio from a UBS stick? Thanks in advance for info you can provide on this!
A USB Hub will not work with the AVH-1330NEX. Other products are available with two USB ports. Check out this video: th-cam.com/video/g5juaKNXr90/w-d-xo.html
i tried that no luck, must be a voltage deal, so what i did was got a HDMI-RCA-USB cable, put the RCA in the back, hook up the USB to a butt plug cigarette lighter hole,
and turn on AV input.
I'm happy to help. Communication through this site is best for me.

If you have Pioneer AVH-2300NEX, you have a very powerful in-dash receiver with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and built in Bluetooth. You can find a full playlist of How To videos from Pioneer about AVH-2300NEX here: th-cam.com/video/_P3_aPDLK2E/w-d-xo.html

Will these units play video from Internet like TH-cam Ect?do any of them have 2 back up camera capability?
2 camera inputs are available on AVH-1330NEX and AVH-2330NEX. All have AV input and AUX input for Audio and Video. You can find more videos about AVH-2330NEX here: th-cam.com/video/uympbLEIOsc/w-d-xo.html
Whoah!!! Thank you for the excellent response and speed. This unit pretty much covers any file type that we can throw at it. Pretty awesome!
can you delete files and make play list on one of these units?
To delete a file from the USB flash drive I recommend to use a computer. As of 2019 October, Pioneer NEX in-dash receivers do not recognize playlists on a USB flash drive. They can play and repeat all songs inside a folder on the USB drive. Any playlist on your phone can be played back through USB with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto depending upon your system. You can learn more about Apple CarPlay on Pioneer NEX in-dash receivers here: th-cam.com/video/_P3_aPDLK2E/w-d-xo.html and Android Auto on Pioneer NEX in-dash receivers here: th-cam.com/video/kpKYks-17gM/w-d-xo.html You can find more How To videos about Pioneer NEX in-dash receivers here: th-cam.com/video/GX8bETHjZkg/w-d-xo.html Please be sure to install the latest firmware update on your Pioneer AVH-2550NEX. You can see it here: th-cam.com/video/7LU2GxhRGrQ/w-d-xo.html The MVH-300EX has an AUX input on the back. The AUX input can be used for Video and Audio input. Can i have various types of media on the same USB stick?
Yes. As shown in the video above with Pioneer AVH-2300NEX you can change between Music, Movies, and Still Images from the same USB flash drive.
Mi manderesti un video di come devo fare per fare funzionare la Pioneer avh-A 320DAB che non ci capisco niente di come funziona

Is there any way I can hook up a 2TB hard drive with over 10,000 albums to this stereo? Thanks.
Yes, selected Pioneer in-dash receivers are perfectly capable of this through USB however not every receiver. This very much depends upon the model number of the Pioneer receiver. Some Pioneer receivers have no particular limit to the number of files and folders or size of the attached USB drive. For example: DMH-WT8600NEX seen here: th-cam.com/video/QrvNkGgRo7E/w-d-xo.html or Pioneer DMH-WT7600NEX seen here: th-cam.com/video/O9yXjfuZPtM/w-d-xo.html
The Pioneer receiver models show in the video above have a limit of 1,500 folders and 15,000 total files as clearly shown in the formatting section of the video above. You can see it here: th-cam.com/video/KWaYfYk90IU/w-d-xo.html
After allowing the system to create a music database, you'll have access to Song, Album, Artist, and Genre search, if that data is carried by the files on the connected drive. You can see it here: th-cam.com/video/KWaYfYk90IU/w-d-xo.html
If you want to use something like a 2TB SSD you'll need to consider a couple things for the installation in the vehicle.
Hi can we download into dvd flac files to listen song hence playing the song from the dvd ?

You can play videos through USB from Android Phones with Pioneer AppRadio Mode + and Pioneer AppRadio Live. Get them from the Google Play Store.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S8 so I can pull up videos but there is no sound because I do not have MHL capabilities.
You can see them in this video: th-cam.com/video/s-RuRzsRfE8/w-d-xo.html
AppRadio mode will playback videos stored on your phone via USB.

Mine is the 2330 model and even when the car is in park it will not show video.
You need to have the Parking Brake engaged. This might also be called the Hand Brake. If you engage the Parking Brake and still cannot see video it's possible that your in-dash receiver has an incorrect connection for the Green Parking Brake Wire.
