    Thank you for your clear explanation. WHERE DO YOU CONNECT THE 2ND CAMERA’S POWER?

    • @deckerdotto6035
      @deckerdotto6035 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I recommend for the 2nd camera to be on and ready when you want to use it. I recommend to connect the camera's power wire to a circuit in the vehicle that has power at all times when the vehicle is on and shuts off when the vehicle is off. I don't know about other camera brands. The Pioneer ND-BC8 camera needs power and ground to operate. The camera should always have power when the vehicle is switched on. And the camera should power off when the vehicle is switched off. This is very similar to the way the Red Accessory wire works on a Pioneer in-dash receiver. Just because the camera has power does not mean you are viewing the camera window on the in-dash receiver. You can find more videos from Pioneer about NEX in-dash receivers here: th-cam.com/video/UaGlwjkZVo4/w-d-xo.html and you can find more videos on Pioneer's TH-cam Channel here: th-cam.com/users/pioneerelectronics and by the way, the caps lock on your keyboard appears to be stuck.

    On the AVH 3300Nex can the video input be used for a front camera? Any info would be helpful, thx for the great videos.

    • @deckerdotto6035
      @deckerdotto6035 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The short answer is yes, however it won't work like the dedicated camera input. Just plug the 2nd camera into the Yellow A/V input on the back of the receiver. Now switch to the A/V input source. You should see the 2nd camera. There will be no music while this camera is viewed because you are using an Audio/Video source with no sound input. To switch this camera off, you'll need to switch to another source. For more videos about AVH-3300NEX check out this You Tube playlist: th-cam.com/video/ibWu0o2hW24/w-d-xo.html

    To have both these functions Does the camera need to be hooked to constant power and the brake light or one or the other?

    • @deckerdotto6035
      @deckerdotto6035 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Be sure to plug the back up camera into the Brown Input on the back of the in dash receiver.
      The camera should have power when the vehicle is switched on.
      The camera should not constant power.
      The purple wire with white stripe is used to let the in-dash receiver know that the vehicle is in reverse and to open the backup camera window. Do not connect the camera to the purple wire with white stripe.
      You can see more about wiring in this video: th-cam.com/video/-bF3uzzaT30/w-d-xo.html The second camera is switched on manually. More videos about AVH-2330NEX can be found here: th-cam.com/video/xvp2910DqQs/w-d-xo.html

      @@pioneerelectronics thank you for the quick reply. I purchased the DMH-ZS9350BT. By the way, currently I am experiencing an issue with this unit (I already reported it to my local dealer), which the unit freezes when the Radio stations are changed manually, meaning when click on arrows, the frequency changes but very slow, after 3 clicks the unit freezes. But If I use the steering wheel controls then no problem, The rest of the features work fine. Have you seen this issue before?

      @@JuanCarlosLinares1977 I'm sure you're in good hands with your local dealer to solve the issue. If I was trouble shooting the radio station issue, if the installation uses one, I would unplug the steering wheel control adapter and restart the vehicle. Then check to see if the problem persists. Issues like this are often caused by faulty add-on adapters or improperly programmed adapters, or adapters that need a firmware update. Please be sure you have the latest firmware on the in-dash receiver.

My only question is the ground. Do I wire the ground from the pioneer to the chassis or to the existing radio harness. Thank you. I hope this isn't a stupid question. Im sorta new at car stereo installs.

    • @deckerdotto6035
      @deckerdotto6035 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      This depends on your install. I recommend to use the ground wire from the vehicle factory wire harness as a place to start. In most cases this will work just fine. Be sure to use a wire harness adapter for your particular vehicle. Many are available. Here is one possibility: metraonline.com/parts/MET-TURBOW Here is a video explaining the Pioneer wire harness: th-cam.com/video/-bF3uzzaT30/w-d-xo.html If you find you have noise in your system, or if you are installing several other items and trying to use the same ground, then I recommend to ground to the vehicle chassis. Are the built in parking lines Dynamic Tracks Parking Lines? Or is that something that can only be done with a camera that has that feature?

    • @deckerdotto6035
      @deckerdotto6035 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As of 2019 October, the Parking Assist Guidelines generated by Pioneer NEX in-dash receivers are fixed lines with respect to the steering wheel position of the connected vehicle. You can move the lines to better suit the installation, but they do not dynamically move with the steering wheel position. However, in many vehicles, the factory camera can be used with the Pioneer NEX in-dash receiver, and if the factory camera has dynamic parking lines, they may appear on the in-dash receiver screen. • @deckerdotto6035

      The Pioneer system is not designed for the automatic camera switching you want to do. You would need to wire in 2 cameras, 1 for the right, and 1 for the left, into one camera input on the in-dash receiver. That's in addition to the backup camera.
      Can it be done? Yes. The parts and installation may be expensive , and it may be clumsy to operate.
      It may be possible if you are using a idatalink Maestro RR. No guarantees from me. Please be sure to do research on this before buying. Not really, but I can take a guess. Please note: I was not there for the installation in the video you noted, and I don't speak Romanian. With that said, there are a couple possible things happening. First, Pioneer makes in-dash receivers in the European market that are very specific to selected vehicles. It's possible this is one of these very specific receiver/vehicle combinations. I'm not sure. The second possibility, is the vehicle only has one camera connection to the in-dash receiver, and the vehicle is doing the automatic video signal switching before the camera video signal gets to the in-dash receiver. Again, I'm not sure. If that's the case, Maestro RR may be a very important part of the installation. I recommend taking your vehicle to a qualified car stereo shop for help with installation.

      You can buy an aftermarket 4-way camera switcher from PAC. It accepts 4x video inputs and 4x 12v+ triggers to switch between the cameras. It then provides a single video out and a single 12v+ trigger out. Connect that output to your head units "backup camera" and "reverse" wire. Connect up to 4 cameras (I assume front, back, left, right) and for the 4x 12v+ triggers you have a couple of options. The simplest is tap your left signal, right signal, and reverse lights. This way the left camera turns on with the left signal. I've tried other brands, but the PAC seems to be the best option.

      The Pioneer AVH-W4400NEX does not support Auto Camera Switching for the 2nd camera similar to the Honda Lane Watch system. On the AVH-W4400NEX, the second camera input would need an automatic switching system for the Left and Right side cameras. This may be possible with a 3rd party adapter added to the receiver. The receiver alone does not support this. More modern Pioneer receiver models like the DMH-W4660NEX seen here: th-cam.com/video/B2TTfJUD-es/w-d-xo.html or the Pioneer DMH-WT7600NEX seen here: th-cam.com/video/O9yXjfuZPtM/w-d-xo.html do support this with the use of iDatalink Maestro RR2. My daughters head unit is the pioneer AVH 2300 NEX. I successfully hooked up a rear back up camera and got it to work. I tied into the reverse wire from the back of the vehicle and hooked it up to the purple/white wire labeled back up camera. Does this head unit support a 2nd camera? I tried to hook up a front facing camera and the screen is black but I can see the controls like the X and the timer button. I tapped into the red accessory wire behind the head unit and ran it to a toggle switch in order to power on the front facing camera. Does the head unit need the firmware updated to support a front facing camera?

    • @pioneerelectronics
      @pioneerelectronics  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Pioneer AVH-2300NEX is designed to operate with only one camera. That's the dedicated backup camera. However, it's possible to use the AV input yellow RCA jack on the back of the in-dash receiver as a 2nd camera input. You can see it here: th-cam.com/video/s-RuRzsRfE8/w-d-xo.html Be sure to use the AV input and not the video output.
      In this case, the camera must be wired with a toggle switch to power the camera on and off. Also, in order to see the camera image, you'll need to switch the receiver to the AV input source. It will not switch automatically. And the AV input source will need to be activated in the System menu. You can see it in this How To video from Pioneer: th-cam.com/video/OMJ5yJ6157g/w-d-xo.html

      Pioneer in-dash receivers are designed to work with the Pioneer ND-BC8 backup camera. I don’t know about the operation of other cameras.
      Be sure to plug the Brown camera output RCA into the Brown RCA Input on the back of the Pioneer in dash receiver. You can see it in this Pioneer How To video: th-cam.com/video/tWi_kVPg2M4/w-d-xo.html
      The receiver’s violet/white wire is used to let the in-dash receiver know that the vehicle is in it’s reverse gear and, to automatically open the backup camera window on the receiver screen.
      Do not connect the violet/White wire to the camera. You can lean more about wiring your Pioneer receiver in this How To video: th-cam.com/video/-bF3uzzaT30/w-d-xo.html and you can find more videos on Pioneer's TH-cam Channel here: th-cam.com/users/pioneerelectronics

      What Pioneer receiver model number do you have? You'll need to check the Violet / White Reverse Gear Wire on the in-dash receiver. You can learn more about the violet/white wire here: th-cam.com/video/-bF3uzzaT30/w-d-xo.html Pioneer in-dash receivers are designed to work with the Pioneer ND-BC8 backup camera. I don’t know about the operation of other cameras.
      Be sure to plug the Brown camera output RCA into the Brown RCA Input on the back of the Pioneer in dash receiver.
      The Pioneer ND-BC8 camera needs power and ground to operate. The camera should always have power when the vehicle is switched on. Just because the camera has power does not mean you are viewing the camera window on the in-dash receiver.

      Do not connect the violet/White wire to the camera.
      When you put the vehicle in it’s reverse gear, the violet/White wire should sense a change in voltage. This opens the camera window on the in-dash receiver. And closes the camera window, when the vehicle is taken out of it’s reverse gear. One possibly connection for the violet/White Reverse Gear wire is the back up lamp terminal. Because I want to use it as a front facing camera so it goes away after a few seconds and back to the main screen when the timer expires. I hate pressing buttons so many times, causing more destruction. Having those shortcuts on the main screen was great idea, but I still have to press bunch of buttons just to get IN & OUT of my front facing camera, coz it toggles the display between front and rear cams, then get out of it than just having a timer that you could customize.

If your Pioneer receiver has a 2nd camera input, it can be used with a forward facing camera. No. The camera switch button is part of the dual camera input system. MVH-1400NEX does not have dual camera input. If you use the AV input as a second camera it will work completely independently of the backup camera input. Using the AV input as described previously, is just a work around. There is no camera switch button. No automatic switching. Change to the AV source to see the camera, and change to another source, for example radio, to turn that camera off.

And the camera should power off when the vehicle is switched off. This is very similar to the way the Red Accessory wire works on a Pioneer in-dash receiver. Just because the camera has power does not mean you are viewing the camera window on the in-dash receiver.

      @deckerdotto6035 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not certain what you mean when you say "This work for DMH-1500NEX?" If you are referring to the backup camera option. Yes. The Pioneer DMH-1500NEX works with an optional backup camera. The DMH-1500NEX is designed to work with the Pioneer ND-BC8 backup camera. You can see it here: th-cam.com/video/kg0IaGC3JbE/w-d-xo.html If you are referring to the Parking Assist lines shown in the video above. Yes. The Pioneer DMH-1500NEX has Parking Assist Lines built-in. They work very similar to what you see in the video above: th-cam.com/video/OhxjLAeSSTU/w-d-xo.html If you are referring to Dual Camera inputs. The answer is no. The Pioneer DMH-1500NEX does not have dual camera inputs. If you wanted to, you could use the RCA video input as a camera input. No it will not record unless you use an independent video recording system. A second camera doesn't have to be forward facing. Are you saying you installed a backup camera, and when you put the vehicle in reverse gear, the in-dash receiver screen goes black, but no camera image appears? What is the model number of your Pioneer in-dash receiver? Pioneer in-dash receivers are designed to work with the Pioneer ND-BC8 backup camera. You can learn more about the Pioneer ND-BC8 camera here: th-cam.com/video/kg0IaGC3JbE/w-d-xo.html I don’t know about the operation of other cameras.
      Be sure to plug the Brown camera output RCA into the Brown RCA Input on the back of the Pioneer in dash receiver.
      You can see it here: th-cam.com/video/tWi_kVPg2M4/w-d-xo.html
      The Pioneer ND-BC8 camera needs power and ground to operate. The camera should always have power when the vehicle is switched on. And the camera should power off when the vehicle is switched off. This is very similar to the way the Red Accessory wire works on a Pioneer in-dash receiver. Just because the camera has power does not mean you are viewing the camera window on the in-dash receiver.
      The receiver’s violet/white wire is used to let the in-dash receiver know that the vehicle is in it’s reverse gear and, to automatically open the backup camera window on the receiver screen.
      Do not connect the violet/White wire to the camera.
      When you put the vehicle in it’s reverse gear, the violet/White wire should sense a change in voltage. This automatically opens the camera window on the in-dash receiver. And closes the camera window, when the vehicle is taken out of it’s reverse gear. One possibly connection for the violet/White Reverse Gear wire is the vehicle’s backup lamp terminal.
