It’s just sad that a corporate ownerships shakeups and no one wanting to INVEST into the beautiful property is why it’s coming down. It’s just ridiculous.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And not enough people found it beautiful to want to put up the money to save it. Anyway it's not even very old. And honestly to me not particularly attractive either. And what about all that asbestos? Just think about all the people who might have gotten cancer from working there all these years? There may be lawsuits in store.
I think it's sad how they just like ripped all the trees and the shrubs out. They could have had those plants and their shrubs. Somebody could replant those beautiful plants, but then again whoever bought that Tropicana property line just completely ripped everything out. So sad to watch another piece of History go down the hill
If these reports are accurate and there is as much still remaining onsite as there is, the property wont even be fully abated by October, let alone prepared for tower implosion or deconstruction.
Asbestos is only dangerous if it becomes air born. Much of the asbestos contained in building construction is in adhesives, tiles and glazing which seldom become an air born threat until demolition. In order to mitigate it, special teams come in and remove the items containing asbestos so that when the demo begins the air born issue is a non factor.
Greedy contractors are demolishing historical places in California on a daily basis . Now Vegas. Horrible. Stadium? That’s just demolishing the classic appeal that vegas has.
@@cwg73160 I think the only person that needs help here is you. 🤣 What a strange person you are to get so upset over people who do care about historical places, being demolished. As well as the unnecessary amount of apartment, buildings and stadiums, especially in Vegas being built. get real. I’m guessing you’re part of the problem that’s why you got so weird. I think people got what I meant because demolishing contractors. Well that’s what they do is demolish. Yikes.
I also highly agree that John Fisher should sell the A's to a group of investors who could be former A's players, like reggie Jackson or Rickey. It would look like the group of investors in Baltimore.
They will most likely build garages or use adjacent hotel parking. They all can support their events now plus Allegiant Stadium - plus a lot will simply walk….it IS Vegas we’re talking about
all for a ball park we didn't ask for, for a 2nd rate baseball club we never wanted. Thanks city council working hard for the mega resorts and billionaires but could care less about the residents
It's sad, I run by there often and remember the number of tourists being happy to stay there, very cheap and fun and now its a Ghost town... but the question I have, if this is the place where the A's will call home? WHAT ABOUT THE CHURCH WHO SITS DIRECTLY BEHIND IT??
The stadium does not belong there, and it’s ugly. Shame the city approved this as I would vote nay. Should have kept a rally nice looking hotel and have the stadium constructed somewhere else.
So long Tropicana 😢
BREAKING NEWS!!!! There is asbestos in a building built in 1957!
It’s just sad that a corporate ownerships shakeups and no one wanting to INVEST into the beautiful property is why it’s coming down. It’s just ridiculous.
Yes it’s very ridiculous.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And not enough people found it beautiful to want to put up the money to save it. Anyway it's not even very old. This is why Vegas never grows. One building goes up another goes down.
@mattbosley3531 you don't get cancer from asbestos sequestered within the building, only breathing in loose particulate.
I would never invest in an old gross hotel.
Could hardly drive through that area in 2005 how the heck you gonna get stadium traffic through 😮
You could spend a minute to explain asbestos, kids today think a quarter of an hour is 25 minutes!
😂true
A quarter is 15 cents now? INFLATION AGAIIIINN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So not saving the million+$ stained glass window art entrance for fugly eye sore stadium...beyond miserating.
It was saved and some say might be installed in the stadium.
But no harmful emissions coming from F1 race thru the centre of town from a race no one wanted.
Tropicana will come back.
I call BS with all the wind that is moving around

Sad.
If the Tropicana will not be imploded, would the towers still be demolished by October?
If these reports are accurate and there is as much still remaining onsite as there is, the property wont even be fully abated by October, let alone prepared for tower implosion or deconstruction.
Now if it was so dangerous how was the hotel open
It isn't dangerous if it is sealed inside the walls.

They do it in Denver too. Destroy historic neighborhoods to put up those ugly box car "modern" homes
Greedy contractors? Do contractors hire themselves to demolish buildings they don’t own?
You need help.

Las Vegas baseball ⚾️ fans should come support their new team.

Bye Tropicana! 🌴😢🌴🍸
Rest In Peace back in the day they had one of the best sportsbooks
Where are ppl supposed to park once the stadium is built?
What if there's a game at allegiant AND new stadium?
They will most likely build garages or use adjacent hotel parking. They all can support their events now plus Allegiant Stadium - plus a lot will simply walk….it IS Vegas we’re talking about
F baseball this is a nice hotel casino wtf
Sad times
Couldn't they just put another casino there instead of a baseball stadium?

The strip is in the county, NO city council.

That place must of made many millions of dollars. The average person could never start a gambling hall.

Good Luck with the Sh#t Show!!!👋👋👋
People can be mad all they want in the comments, but they can’t change what’s going on. Just deal with it. It sucks, but that’s the way it is.
It’s not sad that it’s being torn down when there’s asbestos inside the entire hotel and casino.
It's safer to leave the asbestos where it is than to demolish the place and spread it across a large area.
They should keep the history

What shame
Tropicana is broken now.
I would have a mask on Rich people don't care about

But they could build a new Tropicana somewhere else? Remember there was asbestos in the old building.
