I didn't have any channels so when I clicked recommended, the wifi thing wouldn't pop up. For anyone else who needs it, I ended up plugging in both a mouse and a keyboard. Hitting the windows key will pull up a menu, and on the top right you can click settings. From there you can set up wifi under the network category.

you're a life saver. I changed the router, so my LG phone app would no longer connect. the mouse approach worked like a charm. I still have the remote, but the OK button is dead, and without it, I cannot use the remote to enter the new wifi password of the new router.
It worked for me, when the remote stopped working I knew that through wifi I can still control my tv with a smartphone but first I had to connect my tv with wifi. Your video was immensely helpful for that, thank you for making this video.

Bro this was so simple thank you! I was struggling so bad because all the apps required me to be logged in to my wifi but I needed the remote to do that and my dog ate it. This was so helpful I was able to log into my wifi and down loaded a remote app. Thanks again.
@@Mine_Shrvan you connect the mouse USB to the back of the tv . You have to have a smart TV though. If you don’t have one, it probably won’t work, not sure. Just look for a USB connection.

If the TV has been reset, or didn’t come with a remote, you’ll need a wireless keyboard & mouse set. You have to use the arrows to get through setup, then you can use the mouse too. The Windows key brings up the apps on the TV, and you can get to the settings on the far right with the mouse.

My LG tv was connected using an App, but something screwed up And The damn TV doesn’t remember thebWIFI PASSWORDS youv already put in. Long story short, remote works for everthing but the (OK) and press back. So plugging in a mouse should get me set backup to the WiFi and to the App remote on my phone. Normally I’m using FireStick all the time, but still want a way to control my ACTUAL TV. Perfect idea!! Thanks

Life saver! Got a great deal on an OLED but no remote..10pm at night, stuck on store demo and no wifi. The key is to hit TV Channels and THEN "Recommended" for the network settings button to appear. Then you have access to the menu as well. Thanks man

I haven't been able to use my TV properly for months bc I had no remote, and accidentally disabled the smartphone remote option. I used a cable mouse, crossing fingers to it work. And it did. I love you so much. Fun fact, we are very alike. Skin color, hair, even the scar in the eyebrow. You want more? Thank you for the video Jace. It did not work for me since the recommended channel section is not available. However i found a workaround: plug the tv via network cable to a network that also has wifi, so i could use my phone and the webOs remote app to configure the wifi network while the tv is connected via cable, and then just use it with wifi controlled via the phone. Hope it helps others, cheers
My kids lost our remote and the phone app wouldn’t locate the tv due to lack of connection. This saved me. Thank you! Now if only LG installed a tracker on their remotes 💡😅

Ok I was unable to get it with the mouse, but I got it with a keyboard! I pressed random buttons until I got the menus, then proceeded with the typical connection. This allowed me to link my phone through an app and have a remote. Thanks for the inspiration that led to a fix. Also an Xbox controller won’t work😂
Hey Jace.. I found another way to get into the password using your way, but the only diference is instead to click on recommended u can click on the search on the top right corner and search anything then the tv will ask to set the wifi
Hi everybody. An update. So the method suggested in the video didn't work for me because after "recommended" I didn't get that dialogue box prompting internet connection. So I scrolled through the comments section and came across someone suggesting a keyboard but mine doesn't come with USB connection nor do I have a bluetooth one. After skimming through more comments, I found another person suggesting that when you click on live tv, go to channels and click on search (magnifying glass) and it worked for me. In the search query I typed "Wifi" and a button popped up which took me to "settings" where I could establish connection to the internet. Cheers.
