We felt very reassured watching this as we also get very frustrated every weekend by never getting one job finished and always finding dozens of others that need doing first. We are glad it's not just us. It is one massive puzzle isn't it? We had not realised the complexity of a van build before we started.
Hi Jackie! Yeah it's definitely one giant puzzle, especially if it's your first conversion! I think most TH-cam conversion series give a false sense of reality; all the boring bits are cut out or not recorded (planning, research, sitting in the van scratching your head feeling lost lol, small prep jobs etc) It's the reason why we try to do the vlog style; to try to show a reality.. to be honest even our series make it look way easier then it actually is, as most of the work still gets cut. We knew it was going to be harder then TH-cam makes it look but I don't think you can fully realize until you start doing it yourself! Glad this video was reassuring, it's a struggle for sure!
That's been one of the biggest things for me with a van in comparison to say a house; everything has to dovetail, but it's impossible to plan unless you've done it before and are replicating that build. To be fair though the cladding looks good; I might have to look into that as I'm sure it's a weight saver
Yeah I remember us thinking before we started this van project - we will just figure it out one step at a time.. oh boy, soon realised that won't work when we started doing the wiring few weeks into it.. 😆 PVC cladding seems great, very light, easy to clean, lots of different styles, fairly easy to work with.. has its downsides too, like cant really do the ceiling until most of the van is finished, can damage fairly too but pros outweigh cons imo, especially weight.
Hi folks. Looks lovely and what a challenge. I have one question or concern. My understanding (I am not an expert) that PVC cladding is highly flammable and toxic fumes. Is you product safe in that regard?
Hey hope you are well, I’ve just been looking through your build videos and they’re great. I’d like to do a spotlight on your build on my channel. You literally don’t have to do anything I make a spotlight video on your build and post it. Linking up your channel in the title, description and video. If this is something you’d be interested in then all I need is the nod. Thanks Lee.
I know it’s off topic to this video Have you had chance to full test your roamer 460ah lithium battery, are you happy with it and Can you give any pros and cons yet?Because I’m thinking of getting one
Hi Ian! I wouldn't say fully tested but have done a load test on it. 2200w load no issues at all, charging been fine too via shore power, solar, b2b. Not too worried about doing a full capscity test, I'm sure the 400ah is accurate. Very happy with it so far no issues at all
Haha exactly, the start is not so bad, you can do one simple step at a time. Pretty quickly tough you have to have everything figured out 20 steps ahead before you can start a "seemingly" simple job lol.
Hey Just wondering for your ceiling did you order the corner trims for around corners and cupboards? We are getting this ceiling and just looking at them and don't see how they would work 🤦🏼♀️😂
Hey! Yeah we actually bought them from Wickes, I think we explain it in one of the videos where we do the PVC for the side wall at the bed. th-cam.com/video/Og_8Vd5s6-Y/w-d-xo.html Also added a link in the video description on this one for a Install video that we learned from how to do it lol. Hope this helps!
Its very clinically white so far, when will you e adding some colour etc, im not criticising im just asking thats all because its your van so your rules..👍👍
Hey! The overall theme is white with black details and dark wood floor / counter tops / table. We will add a few splashes of colour at the end when decorating 👍

Good job going to use the same in our van
Welcome to van building life, everything interacts with everything lol

Oh. Never mind not finishing the ceiling yet. Ye are flying it with all the other work 👍
Another ace video guys! The van is looking good 👍👍
Nice, I like that pvc, we used the same in our van 😊

Thanks guys! Its frustrating at times for sure but progress is progress ! We'll get there slow and steady 🤣

That ceiling is going to look nice when finished, also should offer some form of a heat barrier due to being hollow.
Cheers Matt! Cant wait to have it all up, makes such a big difference! Yeah the extra insulation is nice and its also super light ! 👍
Oh no, you couldn’t finish it but never mind whatever you’ve done is really pretty :)

Hi! As far as I know neptune pvc panels have class 1Y fire rating. Id say all the wood is a bigger concern in the event of a fire imo.

You absolutely hit it on the head you have to think 20 steps ahead. After which you realise should have done something else 1st lol.
