Hi, just found your Wales series. As a Welsh "exile" who has in England for many years, I found your series interesting and amusing. Also to be honest quite a "shock" to see you in Wales after all the exotic (to me) places you have visited! I still miss the strong sense of cultural identity and friendliness which exists in Wales, even though I left Abergavenny when I was 12! If you can get past the unpredictable weather, which as you say lends drama to landscape photos, then the Brecon Beacons and Snowdonia National Parks offer a whole world of world-class hiking adventures.
This makes me so homesick. I'm from south Wales a few miles from Brecon, and its just so beautiful. I can't wait to head back there for Christmas I'm finally making it home this year.
Love used book stores. My favorite book store here in DC is Capitol Hill Books. It's old, cramped, creaky, and books stacked everywhere possible. Whenever I want to read a particular book, I go in there and try to find the oldest copy I can and hope I find some scribbles or notes from people who read the same book from decades ago.
I do the same!! Whenever I buy an old book I always flit through the pages to find written notes or names and I like to imagine the story of how the previous owner came about the book lol

Vintage Books in Vancouver WA is my favorite bookstore. Even before I worked there! Powells is a close second, and it's nearby too. My son and I have been enjoying your Wales videos cause we want to move there. :) My son (8) is getting super excited seeing all the fun things you do and the beauty of Wales!
Favorite part of the video? The bookshop, definitely! But honestly everything you guys showed about Wales in this video looks interesting. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking!
I love how you guys plan your itinerary!! I have to agree with Alex about the weather, I like it cold and wet for photography. Hay on Wye is heaven on earth for bookworms - I loved the creaking wooden floors and the ambiance of the shop! Sad you ran out of time. Lol But I'd have to say Llangoed Hall was the perfect way to end the day. The Edwardian architecture, the posh interior, and the meals were just astonishing. SUPER STOKED VID OVERALL!
The cinematography :O the effort you put into filming with all of the bird eye shots contrasted to the gopros and detail shots is unlike every other travel youtube videos I've seen so far! One can clearly see the effort you put into this video!

Love this video. You do a great job. I live in California, grew up in Llyswen, close to Llangoed Hall when it was Llangoed Castle and owned by the Christie family ( prominent London hat makers since 1773) I had the privilege of staying there a few years ago. I visit the area frequently to see family and friends in Hay On Wye. Also lived near Talybont On Usk.
I love Hay on Wye, I've been twice over the last year, its book lovers haven! so glad you guy visited Wales and showed everyone the beauty of the county I have lived in all my life :D if you ever come back, recommend you visit Gower (the area where I live) and Aberystwyth as I currently study at the university there and it is a beautiful area!
Books, books, books, I love books. In a society so overwhelmed by the internet and technologies, seing that gives me inner peace. I'll have to go there. I'm proud to say that my 23 y.o. daughter is a book devourer too (when she was a teenager she didn't like clothes shopping but book shopping), and we always visit book stores wherever we travel, no matter the language spoken there. The smell, the peace of a book store cannot be compared to anything. Thanks for sharing this one guys. Love from Barcelona!!

A Scottish friend who cycled with me from Cardiff to north Wales, actually stated ‘everyone is English’, the counties above Cardiff, Carmarthen etc are now 50% (2011 Census) not born in Wales apart from Gwynedd and Mon.

Loving this series, have only ever been to Cardiff despite not living far away, in Scotland. My one question is how could a Welsh hotel make a "Speyside Scotch"? Speyside Whiskys are made ins Strathspey here in Scotland and Scotch emplies it is a Scottish Whisky.
Hay-on-Wye, or as it was known in the 1960s and 70s....Way-on-High, due to all the hippies camping up on Hay Bluff mountain. I remember all the shops having signs in the windows saying they will not serve hippies. My mother's birthplace and her place of rest, along with generations past. Nice film.

My mouth is watering at the thought of all those books. I worked at a used bookstore for a time, and it was such a fulfilling part of my life. A great listicle video would be 10 best bookshops around the world! On my list (albeit much shorter than yours could be) would be "the most beautiful bookstore in the world" in Venice, Strand in NYC, Labyrinth books in Princeton NJ, and the huge one on Bankastraeti in Reykjavik, I forget the name, but it was incredible. I live 10 mins away from the haye-on-wye. Its probably the most famous book town in the uk and a book lovers paradise. There used to be a giant pyramid of books outside the local library many years ago. I never appreciated it as a youngster but I really feel privelaged to have such a beautiful country and wonderful culture. Wales does not get enough promotion by the UK goverment.
Great video! Awesome channel! My favorite bookstore: The Montague Bookmill, Montague Massachusetts. It's a converted abandoned grist mill on the Sawmill River. It has a café that serves beer. Music in the evenings sometimes. Their motto is "Books you don't need in a place you can't find."
If the best breakfast in Wales in the rarebit, then you are right. When me and my wife were there I ordered one. My only words where if I would have known that it was this good I would have ordered two.

When I was in college many years ago, my dad and I had Mondays off from work and school. He'd come to town. We'd have lunch and hit several used bookstores in Tampa, FL. He and I could have spent days in that bookstore. He's passed on now, but I think of him every time I go in a used bookstore.

I'm from Wales, my mum came from the North East, there is a town Alnwick, which has a huge book shop.
