Beautiful photographs, fantastic landscapes that you folks are blessed with in the UK, I've been to Scotland (Aviemore) and where you were reminded me of that area a little bit. Hopefully you guys will make it up that way sometime. Anyway, thanks for yet another great video, looking forward to whatever you and Dan have coming up!
Take a reading with the spotmeter at the darkest area where you still want to retain shadow detail and place it on Zone 3, or take a reading for the shadows and a reading for the highlights and split the difference. Meanwhile learn the zone system. Aslan doesn't look anything like the lion I was expecting.
Everytime I see an upload from you, I get the urge to get out there and purchase a film camera and start shooting. Unfortunately have to save up for an AE-1 which I'm very desperate for
Keep an eye on garage sales and if there are antique or flea sales near you. Sometimes you can get really good deals (even got a free lens for my AV-1).
Sophie J i was thinking that but I haven't found any worth purchasing. Most are beat up and not worth the little bit of money lol. I'll keep looking. Really want to get into film badly
Don't even worry about an AE-1. There's a lot of SLRs out there and the AE-1 is sort of currently popular, driving the price up. Try a Pentax K-1000, a Olympus om-1, or a Minolta x-700. Arguably better for cheaper. Honestly any manual SLR will do. They all do the same thing. Make sure the lenses are nice and they all equal each other in visual performance. More about personal preference which you can only develop from having a camera and making decisions about t
People really like their AE-1s which is cool but they're not better than an Olympus OM2n or Pentax Super A (for example) and some of these are easier to get good/cheap.
I would have used the incident meter to get a reading of the full brightness and then used my hand to cast a shadow over it for the shadow exposure. There wouldn't be a huge exposure difference in fog, so I would just go with the shadow exposure, plus maybe a half stop?
Awesome location guys! I was recently in Wales but was very sick and didn't get to do much photographing. Keep up the great work and videos, the images you guys took are wonderful!
Wow! These shots are incredible, definitely going to check out the various cameras and posts about this trip. Thumbs up! Also love how the comments section here is actually educational, all around great. I'm definitely an amateur photographer - I just have the Nikon J1 because it keeps things simple but still gives me decent looking photos. Going to research more of your videos, great content.
Thank you for sharing. I really enjoy your videos. I know this one is older but it was fun to watch. Hope you don't mind but I shared it at the end of my recent Times Square with film video. I'm just figuring all this out still (I'm just an old guy with lots cameras). Thanks again.
Just found your channel, I have only done film once and had a difficult time with the process. But after watching this I want to pick it up again haha. Great video
Stunning. As always. I think it's hard in the end, but I'd like to know the actual settings within the fog. Can't wait for the next episodes with Dan. Cheers from Germany
Do a video on your tattoos I always see then kinda quickly in the videos but going in depth on why you got them and what they are would be great. Thank you and keep up the great videos
Great video quality, especially considering you only filmed with an iphone, but your photos are very well done. Good job. This looks to me like a very nice cloud inversion, which might happen in the UK a lot more than in does where I live in the states. Thanks for the video!

Weebea get yourself something cheap first and practice on that. You may find you prefer whatever cheap camera you bought to practice with.
