Evidently my eyes don't work because I looked in your playlist and failed to see this song and had thus asked you about it, lol! I LOVE THIS VERSION of this song. Bumping along on the bus with fellow bus riders is so fun!
As I am watching this today, I posted Gary's official video for this on my Facistbook Wall....we lost Gary on this day in 2011😞 This is a very faithful cover. He nails Gary's guitar tone. And yes, this is originally a Celtic folk song that Gary adapted. He and Phil Lynott were very proud of their Celtic culture.
Thank you for the info - RIP - Was such a great song glad I got to hear it and share how I felt, so I'm honored just to keep such an artist remembered with such a great cover! Thank you again!
The guitar is a charvel red & white from 1987 and it’s a custom built replica of the red & white guitar that Gary Moore used while his Wild Frontier tour in 1987👀 (Big Tommy/Majestica/Sabaton fan here hehe). If you haven’t already, I can just say, check out Majestica. Their Christmas Carol album is awesome and the Above The Sky one too! Or check out their single "Metal United", if I’m not wrong, you can also hear a bit Gary Moore in that one! Great reaction!
Just like Christina says, Tarja does a rocking version of this classic !, also did you know that Tommy has his own band ?, it's called Majestica, & just a couple of tunes you might enjoy are.. "Above the sky" & "The joy of Christmas"...
He is a huge Gary Moore fan. That guitar 🎸 he was excited to get because it’s a replica of Moore’s Telecaster. I don’t think he’s in Sabaton as I’ve recently discovered him myself. 🔥🔥🔥🎸🎵🔥🔥🔥
This bing search has him as being in Sabaton at one point, I think. don't know if link will work for you, I hope so! www.bing.com/search?q=tommy+johansson+sabaton&qs=CT&pq=tommy+johansson+(saba&sc=3-21&cvid=DD153781AC9B470B84D51115F96C096B&FORM=QBRE&sp=1
Tommy Johansson (born 26 October 1987 in Boden) is a Swedish multi-instrumentalist, composer, singer. He is the current lead guitarist of Sabaton. He also does backing vocals and occasional lead vocals for Sabaton. He is a tenor. Took this from my search results!
Thank you. I had just seen his Swedish Pagans cover 4 days ago and I checked out his TH-cam. That makes his Swedish Pagans cover even better. Thanks for sharing the info, that’s what this journey is all about. 🤟😁🤟
He is one of the guitarist in Sabaton and also leadsinger in Majestica. The cover he has in Sabatons Swedish pagans is so fun, its a Disney version and he calls it Disneyton 😀 worth checking out. Love this song from Gary Moore from the 80s btw
I just listened to Tommy on Sunday for the first time. I knew he can play the guitar from Sabaton but I didn't know he could sing. He has a very nice voice. I watched him sing O Holy Night in Swedish. Floor and Tarja sing this song also. Floor and Tarja video.isn't that great but you can still hear both of them.
This is a very creditable version. Obviously, not as good as Gary but pretty close. Almost an exact copy note for note. Love to you react to more Gary Moore. And yes Gary did use a Charvel San Dimas on occasions. Cheers. 😊😎🎸
Great reaction!🤘 Tommy has talent above the sky! 💪😉 As you saw for yourself 😀. I'd be very happy if you check out more of his stuff. He's also the lead singer of Majestica (besides being guitar player in Sabaton).
Good morning to all. This was very cool👍 He has a very nice voice and is great guitarplayer, he joined Sabaton in 2016. I just looked it up for you. Here’s were it gets interesting, he has recorded three albums with a Christian Melodic Neoclassical Power Metal band called Golden Resurrection! Gonna check that out later, I never heard of them. As far as I know he never was on anything of Ayreon. This song allso has been covered by Nightwish. There is a rendition of it from a Buenas Aires concert from 2012 with a very cool video, images of a trip down memory lane! If you are interrested I will try to send you a link.
Nice👍, good looking out😉👍. This is the good kind of communism (community(ism))! Voluntarily putting in the work to help share, educate, and uplift those around you. That's what I'm talking about! Thanks for putting that out here😉👍
