His goal since he was 9 years old is to be as good guitarplayer as Gary. To be his torchbearer. Tommy is not only looking up to Gary as a rolemodel for guitarplaying. He is also emotionally tied to Gary ever since childhood. Garys death hit Tommy hard: Gary is like part of his family. I'm convinced Gary can see Tommy from heaven. Tommy is simply the very best musician, creator and good guy The guitar he uses here in this cover is one of the 2 hand built Gary Moore replicas a friend made for him years ago. He values them highly. And now he has finally got an original Gary guitar as well. Any Tommy cover is usually an upgrade from the original, but his Gary ones he simply wants to be worthy ones.
Tommy is one of the kindest and most down -to- earth guys in business, and incredibly hard working. His passion for Gary Moore's music is very obvious in all Tommy's covers of his songs, but also in some Majestica songs inspired by Gary's songs, like Metal United. Tommy's most recent cover (feat. Chris David , Majestica bassist) is Murder In The Sky, also a Gary Moore song, inspired by the events of 9/1/1983 when Soviet Union shot down Korean Airlines flight 007with 269 people on board. Special thing about that cover is that it was recorded using the guitar that used to belong to Gary Moore himself, which Tommy recently bought (what he never considered possible)

Gary was a Northern Irish musician and the original version of this song was performed alongside the Chieftains, an Irish folk group, so it's not surprising you picked up that vibe. Gary died in 2011, so I doubt he knew much about Tommy. Nightwish also covered this song, and it got to #1 in Finland (as did the original).
