So glad you did this one. Everything Tommy does is a 10 + for me! He is a huge Gary Moore fan. Maybe check out his version of Thunder Rising. Such talent and I get to meet him tomorrow at a Sabaton meet and greet for their new album in London.

This song has that Gary Moore vibe, more then Nightwish's version. Total guitar version, take it from someone who has the Gary Moore "Frontiers" CD. Which is the release the song came from.
Tommy did a great job with one of my favorites from Gary. Much better vocals than those of Gary, but for me the original has more emotional charge in it & I don't like the "drum machine" Tommy used for this all that much. Yet, I'll give Tommy a solid 9 for the vocals & guitar work.

This is a direct cover of a Gary Moore live performance hence the ”over the top” guitar soloing.
I love Tommy in all that he does. You HAVE to hear his recent, "You Raise Me Up (1 Octave Challange)" (And yes the spelling on "Challange" is the way it's listed on the video if you go looking it up). He sings the whole song a full octave higher than the original!

We don't do big reactions, our reactions are genuine. A lot of times we are concentrating on the video/music and not concerned about our facial expressions.
I still think Thyrfing is my favorite version. Just Because it's so close to Gary Moore without even trying
