I came here back in March but did you know that on day one there is a spot on the right side with a ladder you can climb and jump off the rocks

Permits are not required but on the last night and following day you’ll be in Amistad National Rec area. We normally do it in about 4 days putting in at the pandale crossing and taking out at Hwy 90.
As for shuttle service, we coordinate with friends from Junction Texas. Leave late at night to be at the launch at sunrise. Then they meet us at the Pecos high bridge (hwy 90) at lunch on the last day. Use caution on the last day because there is usually a lot of border patrol activity. We have a run coming up end of June this year. The trip is not for inexperienced paddlers although we take new paddlers every year we have run that river many times. The trip is 65 miles long.

@@Get-Out-of-the-house this information is very much appreciated. We are open on dates and are waiting on later in the season flow levels before making a decision

@@davidreid3047 Emelio near Comstock runs shuttle service. You unload at Pandale; drive to his house and pick him up; he brings you back to Pandale in your car, stores it for the week; and has it at high bridge takeout on agreed upon day. Or, depending on your route and space in car, you can pick him up on the way to Pandale which might save time. We do the 60 miles in six nights and fish a lot. I think our longest day is 12-13 miles the way we split it up. It's an AMAZING trip. Experience and high-quality boats required; we saw a worn out Coleman canoe at the flutes with a bunch of worn off patches and gear left behind. You could self-shuttle, in theory, with two cars, but I'm told it's unwise to leave a car at high bridge for a week. Did one trip at 42cfs and I wouldn't go a hair lower. Did a few others around 48 with 55 being the max. Get the Lower Pecos guidebook by Louis Albach.
