My family purchased, in 1940, a log cabin in the Pecos Canyon near Cowles. We feel so fortunate to still have it in our family. 2nd..3rd and 4th generation still loving being away from the hustle of city life. No cell signal...and we love it.

It did not mention "Brush Ranch". Used to be a School, and I lived there 3 School years, leaving in Spring 1981. It is a retreat once again, and I would LOVE to stay, someday. It will never be "home" again, but still... some of the best lodging in the canyon!
Being a local, do you know of any good places to visit near Las Cruces or Deming? I love exploring the places only locals know.

One of my favorite places in the state giving you the openness of the great plains and the high forest of the mountains so close to Santa Fe but a world away!
