He never rushed anyone, answered any questions that were asked of him in however long it took. I've never forgotten that, and the same humble guy comes across in this video as well.

I didn't like his gimmick . He should have been just a vicious salty British stretcher but they straped him with the olde English Landed Lord Snob bullsquat .
If they put a heal over in that way, generally it means that he's higher on the card and more of a threat to the babyface champion. Regal in WCW was never gonna get that push for obvious reasons. He was great in the ring but he pissed in the offices cheerios too many times. He was great for the product they were presenting. Disco Inferno, Alex Wright, Pyschosis, Johnny B. Badd, Glacier, the Dungeon of Doom, etc. It's basically a saturday morning cartoon for kids. Regal nailed that character. He was hilarious and very skilled. I remember hating how good he was lol.
An absolute gentleman. A true legend! I remember one year on my birthday I tweeted him and asked him if he still had his leather jacket he had in his first WWF promo because I would have loved it! He tweeted me back saying he donated it to a charity shop! Then, the next year, totally out of the blue, he messaged me wishing me a happy birthday! Who does that? Thank you for all that you have bought to wrestling Mr Regal and thank you for representing us Brits with such humble grace.

I think the time has come to put William Regal into the WWE Hall Of Fame. The guy has paid his dues, wrestled all over the world, made it to the top and now he's training the future stars of WWE. A proper Blackpool lad who made it to the big time and it never changed him one bit, a real class act.

Here is a man that spent his career on the edge of the spotlight yet, as his down to earth and humble personality comes through, he is at peace with his accomplishments and along the way brought so many talents up the ranks with him. After so many negative interviews watched, this positive and realistic look at the wrestling business seen through the eyes of a man much wiser than I ever gave him credit for blew me away. Forget about nit picking the camera work...LISTEN to the storyline and find the meaning behind the true determination to succeed in doing something you love. This may be a wrestling story, but so many things Steve says throughout the interview applies to anything you set out to accomplish. Many thanks for being the true wrestler and professional, and for exemplifying what an athlete, business man, trainer, and mentor is all about!

Absolutely underrated. I am rewatching the Attitude Era back to back after not watching WWF since 2003 and I've missed this so much. I hate Regal in the beginning but after he became commissioner he was truly one of the guys who made the Attitude Era what it was. How comedic style was great especially with Tajiri.
William Regal is one of my earliest wrestling memories. When I was 8 or 9, I went to a WWE house show in the UK. JBL was being JBL and cutting a promo on the crowd. Regal came out (then a fully fledged heel and that was the only way I had known him), to save the crowd from JBL and got the biggest babyface pop all night. Me and my friend walked out saying "I kind of love William Regal" but we were back to hating him a week later. A true wrestling legend
i agree, he had the ability to be winning gold all the time, but he never did. I think he just loved wrestling, so he never cared about winning stuff, he was in it for the joy of it.
What a class act Regal is. One of the greats. His aura I the ring & self awareness if how to have the crowd in the palm if his hand is brilliant. Great technical & psychological wrestler. Thoroughly enjoyed this interview such a great down to earth guy! His lead an awesome life travelling the world doing this must have been a blast. He definitely deserves to be inducted into the Hall of Fame!!

If you look up "underrated" in the wrestling dictionary, there's a picture of this guy. Great wrestler in any style match, great talker (could be very funny or totally serious equally well), could have gone a lot further if he got the push from Vince and was able to keep clean. Awesome talent though.
Always loved sitting with my grandfather at the weekend watching world of sport. Some many great memories and the heat some of the wrestlers got without even talking... they could teach today's gymnasts a thing or two

I hate Regal in the beginning but after he became commissioner he was truly one of the guys who made the Attitude Era what it was. How comedic style was great especially with Tajiri.
William Regal is one of my earliest wrestling memories. When I was 8 or 9, I went to a WWE house show in the UK. JBL was being JBL and cutting a promo on the crowd. Regal came out (then a fully fledged heel and that was the only way I had known him), to save the crowd from JBL and got the biggest babyface pop all night. Me and my friend walked out saying "I kind of love William Regal" but we were back to hating him a week later. A true wrestling legend

i agree, he had the ability to be winning gold all the time, but he never did. I think he just loved wrestling, so he never cared about winning stuff, he was in it for the joy of it.
What a class act Regal is. One of the greats. His aura I the ring & self awareness if how to have the crowd in the palm if his hand is brilliant. Great technical & psychological wrestler. Thoroughly enjoyed this interview such a great down to earth guy! His lead an awesome life travelling the world doing this must have been a blast. He definitely deserves to be inducted into the Hall of Fame!!

This is the BEST video yet in this series. I've always respected the hell out of William/Steve Regal. I agree he needs to be in the WWE Hall Of Fame because this guy had paid his dues. So thank you for the best video in this series. Would love to see more video shoots with him.
WWE need to make a DVD on his story. It would sell out. Cause no only cause he's a likable wrestler. But because his story is very interesting indeed. I'd buy it at least.

If you look up "underrated" in the wrestling dictionary, there's a picture of this guy. Great wrestler in any style match, great talker (could be very funny or totally serious equally well), could have gone a lot further if he got the push from Vince and was able to keep clean. Awesome talent though.

Always loved sitting with my grandfather at the weekend watching world of sport. Some many great memories and the heat some of the wrestlers got without even talking... they could teach today's gymnasts a thing or two

What a guy William Regal is. He has wrestled in countless countries and promotions, payed his dues to the business time after time and fought through his own personal demons and at the end of it all has nothing but thanks to give back. Legend and a future hall of famer for sure. Massive inspiration for anyone wanting to be a professional wrestler.
Says a lot about him that he can be living abroad for so long and he hasn't lost a note of his natural accent; he means it when he says 'remember where you came from'. Seems like he'd be a good guy to have a pint with
Your accent doesnt change once you are passed the age of 20-25 , it's imbedded for life.
@@docgonzales Mel Gibson's did. He moved from NY to Australia when he was 12. He developed an accent. But when he moved back to the states when he was older, he lost it over time.
If you were to break down regal’s qualities. He’s honest, kind, loyal, dedicated. A born leader. Highly intelligent. Down to earth, humble . He’s shy but very personsable. I’m glad he’s doing well. He’s a good guy

As a ex wrestler in the UK I can identify what he was saying with the style used in the UK. Absolute brill interview and in-depth onsite to the world of wrestling from one hell of a class man.
I remember watching him wrestle Giant Haystacks in Blackpool when he was young ...even then he was one step ahead and had something special...you could see he was going somewhere then
