    great build. don't forget to add the stops to prevent your pistons from bending due to the bucket dumping to far

    I have put that small tilt in my note Thank you for that I am building the loader for my John Deere LA125 Lawn Tractor. What size cylinders are on your loader. I live on an acreage and will be using it to move around soil and other materials like manure and small gravel.

    • @Isavetractors
      @Isavetractors  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am pretty sure the cylinders on that loader are 2 x 16.

    Have you experienced any problems with your hydraulic cylinders, mainly the seals failing after welding the brackets on with them in place? I'm getting ready to build one of these with PF Engineering plans for my JD 430. I want to gather as much information as possible to avoid as many issues as possible. I like the idea of the bucket angle up a little higher! Any other suggestions are welcome and appreciated.

      No issues with the seals. The seal area never got hot during welding.

    What are the dimensions of the cylinders you used for the front bucket?

    what size cylinders did you use where needed?

    Norman, what do you think about going with a 2"*4" on that subframe instead of the 2"*3"??
    Please consider going with a foot pedal for forward reverse. I'd like to see how you would do that!! Thanks.

    • @Isavetractors
      @Isavetractors  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +techmation Hey, I did end up going with a 2x4 1/4" thick. I actually chose this Cub Cadet 149 because of the hand Hydro Lever instead of a foot pedal like on my Ford LGT. My thinking is when I am using the backhoe I can just turn around and drive the tractor forward without having to get up. Hopefully my theory will prove this plan successful!

    What size hydraulic rams did you use ?

  • @markadler360
    @markadler360 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Norman these videos and this build it awesome. One question; what pump are you using? I watched thru most of the videos and didn't see you really talk about it much but I could have missed it.

  • @techmation

    Good job, Norman! I am following you step by step... can you share with us where you purchased your hydraulics and what size they are? Thanks in advance. Keep up the detailed videos.

    • @Isavetractors
      @Isavetractors  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +techmation Thanks for following along! The cylinders you see in this video are from Northern Tool and are 2" x 16" Stroke cylinders. I am going to be buying the hydraulic components from Surplus Center for the backhoe. They seem to be a little cheaper and have more of a selection. Thanks for watching! Part 9 should be coming out soon.

      What is the best overall tractor budget-wise that could be fit with a hydraulic bucket??. I recently got bit by the vintage tractor bug and now want one for exclusive bucket use.

    Would u be able to that same stuff u did on that tractor but a Cub Cadet MTB 7000 2wd tractor but switch out the 2wd for a 4wd?

    Norman for the hydraulic cylinders you have , how long are they extended and retracted?

    • @Isavetractors
      @Isavetractors  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +flozal72 They ae 26 1/4" Retracted. I am not sure what they are extended. I will let you know soon when it comes alive! Should be Tomorrrow.

    • @flozal72
      @flozal72 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    How much did it cost to build the loader I'm thinking of building one my self

    • @Isavetractors
      @Isavetractors  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I bought all the materials for the backhoe and loader together but I estimate the cost for just the loader is about $2000.

    • @Isavetractors
      @Isavetractors  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      actually $2000 is a little high. I think it would be about half that. between $1,000 and $1,300

    • @connorgrogan4386
      @connorgrogan4386 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +isavetractors ok thanks any suggestions of a tractor to put it on

    • @Isavetractors
      @Isavetractors  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Connor Grogan IH Cub Cadets are great because of the frame and fender configuration. it's easy to bolt stuff onto it and it's easy to build around the fender. the rear end is also all steel and perfect for handling the tough jobs. I have a loader on a Ford LGT as well and while it's a great tractor the tube frame made it diffuclt to bolt a subframe on and it required more problem solving. I did it though

      @connorgrogan4386 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +isavetractors I was thinking about mounting it to the wheel horse or like a John Deere 318 or maybe a case Cubs are hard to find in my area

    Hi Norman did you use loader plans for this or did it come from your head?

    • @Isavetractors
      @Isavetractors  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I used plans from PF Engineering. loaderplans.com. I did make several changes but their plans were the foundation for everything

    Hey, we talked a bit at the Elliot Tractor show about a FEL build on a JD112. I'm in the process of designing my build and was wondering where you sourced the hydraulic parts, and possibly maybe the part numbers. You can email me if that's easier, I know promoting a company that's not a sponsor publicly might not be something you wanna do. Any help would be appreciated and thank you, I'm gonna be placing an order soon for that k241 rebuild kit you have, most complete kit I have seen anywhere.

    • @Isavetractors
      @Isavetractors  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Keegan, thanks for your message. No problem on telling you some source for parts. I bought my hydraulic components from surpluscenter.com. The loader boom cylinders were 2 x 16, and I can't remember the bucket cylinder sizes. I will have to look it up, I may mention it in this video series. Send me an email and I can give you more info. Surplus Center is amazing website. I browse it just for fun!

      Apart from the bad humor I recently bought a Cub Cadet 1650 with the intention of turning it into a backhoe / loader. Your series has been very helpful.
