Unbelievable technique. Listening to this makes me feel like I'm witnessing an army move towards me that I have no ability to stop. It's on another level of power.
This is one of the hardest pieces to play in classical music repertoire played by the greatest pianist who ever lived. He makes it look like child's play. He's absolutely incredible.
Wonderful. Now do 2 :) Seriously though... absolutely inspirational. I don't mind his affectations at all. I'm convinced that he totally "gets it"'; theatre is theatre.
Funny how i hate Lang Lang for his actions and at some points come to him for his showy performance😂😂guy is perfect for this epic piece with his body language and all. Though if with ears alone, I'd still go for the mother of all pianists. Spectacular 🎉
Nothing like making an orchestra earn their money. Does any one know if there is a Music minus One to this piece. I would like to relearn this. STELLAR PERFORMANCE!
Can't tell if I love this or not - sometimes I feel he is playing too staccato, yet at times it works, a lot of the time I enjoy the decisions Sir Rattle has made with the orchestra, but sometimes I feel its too slow or too quiet. The instruments he emphasises always feel playful and correct to the character though. 13:16 - Never heard this chord quite like that
To FatzGeronimo: Well, let's face it - - large chunks of this concerto are played here at such unconscionably overly fast tempos (How on earth did Sir Rattle agree with these speeds?), that the results can be likened to frenzied action in a Walt Disney cartoon. And oh! doesn't Lang look deliriously proud, having attained the world's record for the fastest rendition of this work ever done? Of course, anyone who's heard his crazy, inappropriate choices of tempo in his Grieg and Tchaikovsky concertos won't be surprised by what he does here in the Prokofiev. I have a strong feeling that even if he were to listen to the composer's recording. he'd still go ahead and do his own thing: You know - - the "Lang" thing.
I am lost for words; I thank God for giving us such brilliant musical geniuses🙏🙏

I'm absolutely blown away! What a force of nature Lang Lang is. Perfect concert. Perfect!!! One of the best things I ever saw. Absolutely amazing.
This deserves more views.. his rendition is characteristic of him and fits the spirit of the piece.
Oh my goodness this is simply pure magic. I am truly at a loss for words. 👌
He still makes the ending maniacal but what a fantastic performance. His technicality is perfect.
Прокофьев и Ланг Ланг - два гения! Как же они дополняют друг друга! Брависсимо! Оркестр - браво!
Music sometimes captures magic….with the artist, the conductor…a standard to aspire to.
27:55 Look, it's Prokofjev playing the bassoon!
Reincarnation then exists! lol
9:38-10:01 the best 23 seconds in the history of piano playing
Orchestra is amazing..😮Great performance!!
They are the number one musical team of all menbers.

Ballet on the piano, beautiful.
Lang likes to play dancing on the piano. He makes a new future in piano-fields.

Outstanding performance !!!!
Thank you !!!!!!
THANKS FOR THE REUPLOAD BRO👍
Berliner Philharmoniker, Sir Simon Rattle; the New Year's Eve concert of the Berliner Philharmoniker Dec 31 2013

Not gonna lie that was pretty dope
When is this guy coming to Australia so I can watch him live
His key touching is undoubtedly crystal clear, even clearer and stronger than most recordings I’ve heard. Plus the orchestra sounds kinda weird idk😮
From 9:45-10:09 just brilliant
Love him or hate him for his histrionics, that was very exciting but how old is this performance?
Martha still reigns though.
Malofeev and Philadelphia Orchestra are my favorite pairing.
Is that Sergei himself playing the bassoon?
Simon Rattle AND Lang Lang?!?
This is like the Nickelback of classical music.
28:56
wait a sec ..... 30:22 was that Angela Merkel and her husband :O
Yes both German chancellor and president were there, Berlin philharmonic orchestra 2013

Benefits TH-cam 19899❤❤❤ч😮
In my opinion the coda is so goofily fast compared to Prokofievs original tempo

世界顶级钢琴家,真棒。如果没有那些与弹琴无关的多余的动作的话,他的技术水准以及演出的观赏性还能上一个台阶。
Pity that a devoted Sir turned to be a metronome
Now what in hell do you mean by that?
@@richardvolpe7664 sounds like he admires Lang Lang's ultra accuracy on tempo?
I am glad I am not the only one feeling that way
cuanto histrionismo inutil y barato!!!!!
He’s so garish. Dislike nearly every one of his dynamic choices. Bizarre interpretation.
