Great vid! Obviously you know what you're doing. You may already know this but my "trick" to getting the beat error really close after I staff a watch is to install only the balance assembly and the pallet fork with bridge. You can then clearly see where the arm of the pallet sits between the banking pins. Makes it way easier to determine which way to rotate the HS collet. I use a balance tack to hold the balance bridge while I rotate the collet. Once the arm is centered visually between the banking pins you should be close on beat error.
Nice work. Movement had some real moisture damage. Did you ever get the beat error adjusted? Hopefully you also got the amplitude up higher. I noticed it was only around 240 on the dial down position. 👍🏼
Hey, thank you. Yeah the beat error could be adjusted very easily. As soon its at about 2.0ms you can use the balance arms (I actually dont know the english word right now sorry!) to adjust it. The amplitude is not that high you are absolutely right but what I have seen from other watchmakers who know this movement they told me its not a typical high amplitude movement. Most are in the range from 240-260. But keep in mind the mainspring in my video was not fully wound up. I think 250 is realistic for this one. Thanks for the comments and I am happy to see people are looking concentrated! Hats off to you sir :)
Well done, you obviously put in a lot of time and effort to restore this old watch. I love the Frankenstein watch cleaning machine, I half expected you to say “It’s Alive” when it started running. You need come up with cooler name for your channel though, or is Uhren Dantler super cool in your language?
Thank you! Yeah its some Kind of Frankenstein machine. I am currently working on it! If you are interested I will post some pictures on Instagram :) Yeah the „Name thing“ is somehow difficult. Uhren Dantler is a kind of a local used term in my hometown region for a person who is doing things with watches (what things? It can be everything! :D). But if you have cool suggestions let me know maybe I will choose a more english based name. I absolutely got your point! Cheers
Fine video Kudos for doing the job with the rusty movement. A lot of effort and time put into the work Impressive job on the cleaning machine- I think you have to minimise the frothing though. Perhaps be more consistent with the finger cots Keep up the good job
Hey thanks! Yeah the frothing is maybe too much. I am currently moding the machine to spin leftwards and rightwards alternately. I post pictures about this on Instagram if you are interested! No promotion for my insta its just if you are interested! Finger cots: you are right, my biggest Problem is I have huge hands and the are not so comfortable :D But yeah I have still mich too learn! Glad that you gave me your feedback and I hope you enjoyed the video!
This video deserves so many more views. Keep up the amazing work.
Thank you! It is my hobby and makes so much fun!
Amazing work! Incredible how rusty the balance weel was!
Yes it was!

@@UhrenDantler How about OverTime or InspectorClock?
@@atomic1783 OverTime I like a lot!
@@UhrenDantler I just looked it up. Looks like someone already has OverTime, hmmmm, how about UberTime.
@@atomic1783 Damn! That would have been nice. Prof.OverTime :D
I’m struggling finding a main spring winder that holds the entire spring? What are you using?
I am using the Bergeon 5356
@@UhrenDantler thx and using red # 5?
@@richardadelberg8961 I dont know it what I used for this movement. But in general I try different numbers and have a look what fits best! Greetings!
What was final beat error? Close to zero I hope. Final amp and rate in 5 positions?
Fine video

How did beat error turn out using beat corrector. I question if a balance complete at $120.00 wouldn’t have been better use of time and money.
I got it to about 1ms. An new Balance often has not a Perfect beat error. And the Most Important thing, I want to keep things original :)
I thinking maybe you should oil that lamp hinge lol
Hahaha After this Video I did that😂
Which drum did you use for main spring
