The battle hymn of the republic still brings tears to my eyes after 77 years. I remember sing this song in grade school and It brought tears to my eyes then. There are a small group of people in this wonderful country who hate this country, and want to tear it down. But you don't see these same people leaving and going else where. If this country is so bad how come there are millions of people wanting to come here to become American citizens. My advice to those who say they hate my country, I say to you shut up sit down become a better citizen, or get the hell out of my country.

Also learned the songs for each branch of the military. Unheard of today. Believe I was in fourth grade at that time. We were in process of losing our “Republic”. Thank God saved us on November 5th 2024. The Republic & our American values must be strengthened in next 4 years & beyond. There is no way I can begin to imagine what Donald Trump has gone through. I'm an Australian and this moves me. What have we lost over the years? There is nothing like this now. No love for country, no love for who we are. Just division, hatred for who we are. Western society hates itself and is no longer proud of what it once achieved. It believes that in order to be stronger it must dilute what makes it great. We must now be ashamed of our roots, and hate ourselves and all that we've achieved. Our enemies don't think like that. They are proud of what they've achieved. They don't hate themselves. They hate us. People who have dragged this world into the modern era, through science and thought, unfettered by ideology or religious extremism. Yet these are the countries that hate us most and try their utmost to destroy us. And when they say we are unfair and racist and every sort of "phobic" we are expected to feel embarrassed and guilty. But they don't want to go back to the countries they came from because if they say those things there they could indeed risk their lives. Quite the conundrum, wouldn't you say? We give them the freedom to destroy us from within. The freedom they never had in the country they came from in most instances. And if they are native-born and hold these views, they are useful idiots who will never realise how they have been used. This needs to stop. Be proud of who we are. Stand up, stop being silent. Our silence allows our destruction.

    • @mfsebcw
      @mfsebcw 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

part of freedom is the freedom to point out where the shining beacon on the hill is lacking. i love my country for certain, or more accurately i love my fellow countrymen. the country is merely an apparatus for improving the lives of the humans that live here. when it fails to live up to that standard, it is well within my rights to point that out. the first amendment says that i may peacefully petition the government for redress of wrongs.
what western culture has achieved it has achieved through a mixed bag. we wouldn't have modern dentistry without certain people experimenting on those they considered lesser humans.
you can hate the vile actions even if the consequence was something grand. NASA wouldn't exist without project paperclip. without the war crime of using the atom bomb, japan might have fought to the last remaining man and woman.
as for enemies, how well do you know those places? when america invaded afghanistan, it didn't take long to develop local operatives willing to fight against their country's rulers. that says they hated what their country was, and wanted to change it.
when a person is being racist or phobic, yes, you should feel bad. why does it surprise you that predetermined bigotry is not a valid way of judging a human?
immigrants are more law abiding than natives. studies show this. immigration does not destroy, it creates.
i am proud of who I am, my own choices, my own life. why take pride in the accident of where i was born? we are all human.

Although I worked for the Department of Defense, Office of Inspector General, Defense Criminal Investigative Service, from 1989 to 2001, and so I know that all of DoD uses untold numbers of acronyms, and therefore it is imperative to introduce acronyms by defining the meaning in the beginning of your written product, so that everyone that reads it has a better understanding of what you are trying to communicate.
But of course as a Special Agent, I was trained to communicate in writing, in a manner that is clear and avoids misunderstandings of what I am stating, as there are people relying on what I stated to make determinations of whether or not to criminally prosecute subjects of my investigations, or pursue civil or administrative recourse on behalf of the government. In doing so, it was incumbent on me to provide clear communications to avoid undeserved prosecutions of people without solid evidence of guilt. My subjects included government contractors, government employees, as well as military personnel.

Too deistic, as a man of faith myself the faith need not be included into the fabric of our identity. We were meant to practice quietly & speak softly of our faith. I love the song to no end and should my country come calling to me to make quick to fight for what it stands for, or die to make and keep men free, I'll go in singing it. But we need not make it the Anthem. Leave that to the Battle Cry of Freedom

she rewrote the words to "john brown's body"
    which is more powerful song
Old John Brown’s body lies moldering in the grave,
    While weep the sons of bondage whom he ventured all to save;
But tho he lost his life while struggling for the slave,
    His soul is marching on.
John Brown was a hero, undaunted, true and brave,
    And Kansas knows his valor when he fought her rights to save;
Now, tho the grass grows green above his grave,
    His soul is marching on.
He captured Harper’s Ferry, with his nineteen men so few,
    And frightened "Old Virginny" till she trembled thru and thru;
They hung him for a traitor, themselves the traitor crew,
But his soul is marching on.
John Brown was John the Baptist of the Christ we are to see,
Christ who of the bondmen shall the Liberator be,
And soon thruout the Sunny South the slaves shall all be free,
For his soul is marching on.
The conflict that he heralded he looks from heaven to view,
On the army of the Union with its flag red, white and blue.
And heaven shall ring with anthems o’er the deed they mean to do,
For his soul is marching on.
Ye soldiers of Freedom, then strike, while strike ye may,
The death blow of oppression in a better time and way,
For the dawn of old John Brown has brightened into day,
And his soul is marching on.

    Let’s all sing along!
Note that only the last verse is explicitly Christian, anyone can sing the rest.
The chorus varies slightly in most stanzas, so it has been printed out in full.
Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword
    His truth is marching on
    Glory, Glory, hallelujah!
    Glory, glory, hallelujah!
    Glory, glory, hallelujah!
    His truth is marching on
I have seen Him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps
They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps
I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps
    His day is marching on.
    Glory, glory, hallelujah!
    Glory, glory, hallelujah!
    Glory, glory, hallelujah!
    His day is marching on
I have read a fiery gospel writ in burnished rows of steel
"As ye deal with my contemners, so with you my grace shall deal"
Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with his heel
    Since God is marching on
    Glory, glory, hallelujah!
    Glory, glory, hallelujah!
    Glory, glory, hallelujah!
    Since God is marching on
He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat
He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment-seat
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! Be jubilant, my feet!
    Our God is marching on
    Glory, glory, hallelujah!
    Glory, glory, hallelujah!
    Glory, glory, hallelujah!
    Our God is marching on
In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea
With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me
As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free
    While God is marching on
    Glory, glory, hallelujah!
    Glory, glory, hallelujah!
    Glory, glory, hallelujah!
    While God is marching on

Mr. Welles, there are apps now which can construct one’s appearance from youth to old age, i.e., show you what you will look like when you are old, and the reverse, i.e., what you looked like when you were young from you as an old person. It’s worth a try.
