Zuko was supposed to end up with Katara? Was Avatar prematurely cancelled? Jet isn’t dead?
Nah guys, you’re all getting it wrong.
As comes with introducing any new movie, tv show or cartoon, people can get things misconstrued! There are a ton of different reasons people will either miss or get wrong before, during or after they watch the series and it can definitely be frustrating!
The M. Night Shyamalan live action Avatar movie isn’t a good adaptation. Azula isn’t the only one who can bend blue flames. We do find out what happened to Zuko’s mother Ursa and Ozai doesn’t just hate Zuko for no reason.
Things even as simple as your bending doesn’t rely on what Nation you are from. Toph does end up reconciling with her family. There are different forms of bending like Blood Bending, Metal Bending, Lightning Bending, etc. Is Avatar an Anime?
But while these things can be easily mistaken, it’s up to us, the fans, to make sure the correct information is out there without being too mean about it. Using Nickelodeon’s original series, Legend of Korra and the Dark Horse comics as our answers, we’ll hopefully set things straight! But Mai’s name isn’t that hard to pronounce!

Are there really people that think Aang is a weak avatar because he didn’t kill the firelord? Honestly that’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. Aang stayed true to who he is and what he believes in even though everyone was telling him there was no other way. That’s a hard thing to do. In my book, his decision to spare the firelord makes him the strongest avatar.
While i respect that sticking to who his beliefes could have doomed the world
@@dragon22214 but he didn’t doom the whole world. He found another way. His dedication to what he believed in allowed him to be true to himself while still fulfilling his role as the avatar. To me that’s much more inspiring than if he had just given in to peer pressure and killed Ozai. Sure he would’ve saved the world, but he would’ve given up the very core of who he is to do it.
But it didnt doom the world. He had a plan before facing the fire lord. He just needed his window of opportunity. Plus not falling into peer pressure and being confident that you'll find the answer within your beliefs is a good message
I also think that is why the Lion turtle gave him energy bending because of who he was and that he would not kill the fire lord and that his spirit was unbendable because he didn’t kill the fire lord.

Actually The creators said Katara and Aang was always their plan, while the producers wanted to add some Zutara but ultimately the creators had Katara and Aang become cannon.

Tbh, I’m glad Kataang happened. Katara and Aang were friends from the start which is what I like most about their relationship. My favorite romances are the ones that take time and develops. Katara and Zuko only started getting along for a few episodes.

If Aang had killed Ozai then Ozai would’ve died as the fire lord in a battle. But he didn’t kill Ozai so now Ozai is going to die as a weak powerless old man rotting in a prison cell. I think Aang made the right decision.

@E Ryuu: Exactly. Aang showed mercy and helped the healing by not killing Ozai. He was true to his beliefs. And he gave Ozai a chance to become something better; going to prison without bending didn't have to be torture for him. He could have found a new path instead. Ozai's made the choice what to make of his fate.
@Link Player I have watched Avatar, the Last Airbender. Not The Many Fire benders though. If that's actually a show/movie. I do think Ozai probably isn't willing to change, but I still think he can.

A guy at work started talking about how Avatar was the best thing ever and I chipped in talking about how it was my favourite show. Soon it became apparent that he and I were talking about different things.

5:03 There is no Book: Air because he had already learned and mastered airbending. Did others think there was gonna be a Book of Air because I knew that they couldn't and wouldn't. It would have been a cool origin story, who Aang was before the 100 yr war, how he grew up among the monks, but it would serve little purpose beyond that. He quickly masters air so it would be a very short season.

lightning and fire can be argued to be of the same element. When fire gets hot enough it can become plasma. Lightning is pretty much plasma too.
I thought this was pretty well explained in the origin of fire bending story. Fire bending is about energy. Lightning is energy.

Well actually firebending is about igniting the energy within the body. I'm not sure how that is considered breath, at least not in the context of Asian cultures.

Fire is ignited gas. Plasma is the state of matter that is so hot that the gas changes state.
The things you got wrong.
Ursa was banished because Ozai was afraid she would use the poison on her. She didn't just run away.
Obviously your geography in the world doesn't dictate what element you can bend. But your lineage does. And MOST people in the Avatar world live in a section of the world where their particular element is bent most. Just because the foggy swamp tribe are in the Earth Kingdom, doesn't mean they're not Water Nation.
Toph didn't learn bending from the Badger Moles. Toph learned how to control her bending through the Badger Moles. It was something she could do from birth, but simply didn't know how until she was taught. You can speak English from birth as long as you know how to make the mouth noises sound like words. The mouth noises are there, you just have to form them. Bending is there, you just have to train in it.
Honestly, most Japanese people who talk about this show consider it an Anime.. If it's good enough for them, it's good enough for me.
I've given up with continuing this comment. This video is just really poorly written.
I agree with everything except that it is an anime but that one is always going to be a matter of opinion so that one really isn’t worth arguing over especially something like that, so I’m going to leave a thumbs up. Oh and Thanks for righting down most of what I was thinking while watching this so I don’t have to.

@Zero Damien I mean i agree, but i don't find it worth arguing over. If a Japanese person said It is an anime I wouldn't argue with them, and if a non Japanese person says it is an anime I'm not going to argue it with them either. If you don't think it is an Anime cool, I say it isn't either for the same reason.
Same with Azulas age (in the comics Ozai states she's only 1 year younger than Zuko).
As well as with Zukos and Mais relationship. Gene Yang says that 3 years after their breakup in the comics they rekindle their love and get back together. Although I guess Izumis mom could still be questioned in LoK since Yang was no writer there, so they might've changed that fact (I like to think she's Mais daughter since she has the long face and sharp chin, as well as that condescending side-eye glare 😂).

Except without Aang, zuko never would've turned on the fire nation, the moon spirit would've been destroyed, which would stop all waterbending, and the fire lord would've destroyed the entire earth kingdom during sozen's comet, the world would be basically destroyed except for the fire nation.
Watched the moon spirit episode last night. It was great.
no, the moon spirit would not have been destroyed because of one reason. Zhao didn't need to go to the northern water tribe to execute the siege of the north because the avatar wouldn't be training up there. And Zuko would just be wandering the waters for his entire life basically. Yeah the earth kingdom would probably be dead but the water tribes would still be able to fight a little longer.

Without Aang the fire nation would never have taken Ba Sing Se either. Aang going to Kyoshi Island convinced the Kyoshi Warriors to fight in the war, Ba Sing Se was infiltrated by Azula, Mai, and Ty Lee by taking the Kyoshi Warriors get up and posing as Suki. Zhao would have gone north either way Aang just accelerated his plans.

I would have said this story and Ursa's were the two that begged to be told. Also, I've read Azula was originally intended to have a redemption arc. Some of the later comics just seem to be rehashing the same material while they *could* be doing better storytelling (as in The Search) with these other two themes.

The one thing that amazes me the most is the great amount of wisdom that's in this show. It literally taught me almost all the life lessons I know today. Also in movies from Disney or Pixar, those teach you a lot of things if you really pay attention to it.

I recently watched the show for the first time, and I kept thinking there was gonna be something more to Momo. It’s cool to know they thought about him being a reincarnation of Gyatso.
Correction: ATLA has complex moralities, LOK has contradictory moralities.

The show ended early because it only took 1 season each to master all the elements and the last season had an extra episode because that’s the episode where Aang officially mastered all the elements and can fight Ozai. That’s just my opinion.
It's almost like you think we didn't watch the show. I'm still waiting for the part of the video where you think I got something wrong.

How did two white men get the series accurate but and Asian dude got the movie wrong.
Just because someone is Asian it doesn’t mean they know everything about Asian culture, two “white dudes” could just you know, do their research.

@@justanotherguy8588 Actually it was mostly due to one white dude. The creators ironically had very little to do with the main story, world building, characters, and every creative choice done for The Last Airbender. The real hero was the head writer Aaron Ehasz. The creators did take more of an active role in Legend of Korra and didn't bring Aaron back for that series which is why it feels so much different than The Last Airbender.

@@kingcold9892 glass and crystals are different at an atomic or molecular level. Crystals have their molecules arranged in a geometric pattern, while glass is random. That being said, "earth" is a vague concept, so since glass can be artificial or naturally occurring (such as obsidiam) but still made of minerals from the earth, it would make sense that any glass should be able to be bent like any other form of earth.
A prodigy fire bender happens once between every 1 and 4 centuries and when happens the user can gain a colorderd fire and enhanced power due to strong chi

Anime has so much content, it can be overwhelming for newcomers

I will join you on the hill. Everyone loves uncle iroh. If they dont. They saw the shamalan movie
For that last one, of course the fire nation would fall eventually, but the entire earth kingdom would be burned to the ground because of sozin's comet, and Ozai would probably be stopped by Iroh. Iroh mentions that future generations would look back and think that it was just another bloody struggle for power between two brothers if Iroh beat Ozai.
If you dont think Iroh is the best character, I'm not mad at you, im just afraid you've lost your way.

I need a better explanation as to how the lion turtles where hunted because those ancient behemoth beings that even Ravva herself acknowledged as ancient one were just hunted by mere men?
my guess would be: men took the bending abilities those turtles gave them when they went outside the cities, and then teamed up with other groups from other cities
@@alexanderzack3720 I feel like you could have a team of 1000+ benders or more and still not be able to take these beings down. Who knows what other abilities the posses or how they could move between the spirit and physical world. To me they are God like beings even raava refers to them as ancient. So older then she and vatu are.
About the ship war, my sister and my brother took it VERY seriously. They took it so serious, they didn't even speak to each other until New Years Day. They were THAT serious about it.

In the tale of Avatar Wan, this is more or less confirmed. So if you learn energybending or find an energybender, any none-bender can aquire bending.
