Even though we have done videos on both of the Avatar shows previously, we thought it would be high time to take another look at the show, but this time with a bit of a narrower focus, namely on the titular Avatars. Who were these people, and what stories of their creations are out there? Let’s find out in 107 facts about the Avatar.

It's crazy how avatar ended 13 years ago, but more people are only just hearing about it. I hope more people will enjoy this masterpiece :)

I’ve watched the show from start to finish every few years since it came out. I believe I was in the 5th grade when it did and I loved it. I remember being picked on by classmates for loving the show, now many people love it and I feel cheated lol.

The reason Kuruk wouldn't tell anyone he was fighting spirits was because Yangchen would frequently make deals with spirits and then side with humans even when the humans broke the deals resulting in peace for humans but enraging the spirits so Kuruk took all the blame for being a "bad" avatar to save Yangchen's reputation because people loved her so much
I love how all the avatars have at least one major flaw like that 😁
It’s weird how one avatar’s strength and personality will be the polar opposite in their next lifetime, and be a flaw or weakness. As if personality itself has a balance as well.

It amazes me that over 15 years later there are people only now watching this series. Nevertheless, they'll enjoy it. No question, Avatar The Last Airbender was the best series to ever air on Nickelodeon, and Avatar The Legend Of Korra was also great despite having more problems. And to anyone who wants to argue that Spongebob Squarepants is better, it isn't but just gone on longer and rewatch Seasons 7 through 9 and tell me that every 4th episode isn't bad.

I loved this show so much. Everything about it is incredible. The animation, action, humour, story and especially the characters. They are all so unique and awesome. Easily my favourite show.

Yeah i can think of other times in the show like this too. Like didnt zuko get angry and make some candles flames really big in one of the earlier episodes but he didnt do it on purpose? Would that count?

I wish there was an avatar who misused the Avatar powers for his own personal needs but then he realized that he actually killed someone very close to him that made him decide to change.

well that could very easily be a person, considering how many avatars there are. and in the old day when nobody knew the avatar could be reincarnated whoever became the new avatar didnt really have rules.
That's pretty close to Kuruk, I think, who was careless and impulsive, and then his wife was taken by Koh because of it (I'm not sure on the details of that, tho, don't quote me on it)
I liked the kyoshi books, but kyoshi lived for over 200 years and they both take palace before she's 20.
Also these facts are actually great and detailed. One of this channel's best videos in a while. Like Wan's armor and the previous avatars are great and informative.
I wish Nick would have the same creators of this make another hit series. This show is timeless.

Korra probably discovered she was the Avatar because of how enamored she was with the idea of the Avatar even at a young age. "All she ever wanted to be was the Avatar", she was probably read books about Avatar Aang and his friends as a child and in her excitement tried to recreate the moves present in the illustrations (or something to that effect). Because she is the Avatar she would be successful in producing the desired elements and as a result would very easily realize that she was in fact the Avatar.

Pretty sure the reason why the Eastern one has the Yangchen statue is because both that one and the Western were temples used by women. Also, Szeto is underrated, I mean unlike Aang and Korra, he didn't use his Avatar card for privilege and worked his way up. He helped the Fire Nation economy recover and grow, to be the prosperous one that was eventually used by Sozin to his advantage for warfare
actually, if he actually did include indian culture to make his version of the fire nation match the casting that could be seen as a creative liberty i guess. but nooooo all he did was insert them for no other reason than to make up for having a mostly white main cast. one of the worst cases of forced diversity rip.

I'm Indian and it annoys me that M.Night an Indian would do this to brown people being brown himself. Also he made the fire nation random, some actors where Indian, Mexican, Iranian etc.
@@rohan5302 you got that right! i think many of the casting decisions were just so they could boast about how 'diverse' the cast was in pr. from what i heard, the actress who played katara was a producer's daughter and she was basically shoe-horned in bc of nepotism. what's esp sad abt all of this was that his daughter is a big fan of the show and even dressed up as katara for one halloween. i cant imagine how embarrassed/disappointed she is in her dad for this one lol

Fun detail: The battlefield that Avatar Wan dies in looks very similar to a battlefield that Zuko passes through in Zuko Alone. It's a common theory that the battlefield in Zuko Alone is the same one that Wan died in.

Just started watching the original series on Netflix.

When paramount plus releases more Avatar content they should do a show about avatar aang in his adulthood
Imagine knowing that once your father died you were the last person left on the planet keeping a thousands of years old culture alive. The weight of that must have been very heavy on Tenzin prior to him meeting Korra, but thanks to her actions at the end of Season 2 dozens of people who (if this fan theory is true) are descendants of Airbenders who survived the attack by the Fire Nation 150 years ago regained Airbending abilities, Tenzin became the leader of the Air Nation that Aang hoped he would be.

It’s interesting how korra speaks with Rava because that is the only voice left after her connection to the rest were destroyed. Ang spoke with all voices because he still had a connection to them and the avatar state represented the power of all of them. No wonder Korra’s avatar state seemed weaker than Ang’s she basically drawing only on herself and on raava
Toph also has 2 episode titles referring to her. "The Blind Bandit" and "The Runaway"
7 years later and I’m still waiting for a third avatar series
There needs to be a prequel series that shows the lives of the 6 named Avatars who came before Korra and Aang; Roku, Kyoshi, Kuruk, Yangchen, Szeto, and Salai! I like how the novels and comics have given them more backstory and we got a few episodes featuring some of them, but I want to see them all in an actual show.

@@jessetorres8738 My version of the plot for the third avatar series will be set 60 years (where it’s now the 1980s of the avatar universe) after the events of LOK and 15 years after the death of Korra where it involves the new avatar a 15 year old male fire bender named Chen and his older sister sari & team avatar 3.0 and they are trying to end a conflict between the earth states (which the earth empire became after LOK) and fire union (which fire nation became after LOK) called flaming conflict (which began 16 years after LOK and 44 years before the third avatar series and their worlds version of the Cold War) and since my version of the third avatar series will be set during the 80s here is what the avatar universe would look like Mullets Tall mohawk hairstyles jheri curls flattops and high top fades replace the hairstyles that we see in LOK Rock pop electronic music hip-hop Alternative Rock replace smooth jazz their worlds version of MTV is created arcade games replaced board games tVs replaced radios the 4 nations Will have and interconnected highway system airplanes replaced bisons (don’t worry bisons will still be used it will become a second mode of transportation) shoulder pads Jean jackets leather pants aviator Jackets jumpsuits members only jackets skin tight acid washed jeans izod Lacoste and preppy solo shirts leggings and legwarmers mini skirts eyeliners head-bands ray-ban aviator sunglasses wayfarer sunglasses Swatch watches and the Rubiks cube are all-time popular everyone has a car there is an interconnected highway system (and other stuff from that decade such as clothing music political events) and the world soon drifts from planned economies and towards laissez-faire capitalism and it’s also the decade that the Friday the 13th franchise was created (which is owned by Paramount which owns Nick which owns both atla & LOK) so if they create a third avatar series they should research the 80s which they should set it but don’t worry I think aang and elemental bending won’t be forgotten because computers are invented in the 70s & place other 2 I imagine the cyberpunkish setting Like blade runner or, probably more appropriately. Akira or ghost in the shell but integrated with spirits (Spirit vine tech an Electric/Spirit vine cyberspace similar to the one from Tron) it could be crazy in a good way
I imagine Chen with black hair and a mullet hair and red Jean jacket & yellow leather pants & adias-like shoes or Nike-like shoes with white skin (similar to toph’s skin)
Also imagine the cities that we see in both atla & LOK look like in the third avatar series I imagine they would be a blend of LA from Blade Runner & Tokyo from ghost in the shell they look like huge bustling metropoli’s

Fire nation:after LOK The fire nation becomes the fire union (there worlds version of the Soviet union) & there is a conflict with the earth states called the flaming conflict (there worlds version of the cold war)
Here is the plot for the 3rd avatar series
Chen’s rising
Plot:The year is 1983 60 years after LOK & 15 years after the death of korra we followed the new avatar a 15 year male fire bender teen named Chen now he & his older sis sari must form team avatar 3.0 to end the conflict between the earth states and fire union called flaming conflict (their worlds version of the cold war which began 16 years after LOK & 44 years before Chen’s rising) if they don’t this will doom both nations & possibly the entire world find out in

Plot: team avatar 3.0 learns the water tribes are planning revenge on the world because of what they went through in both atla & LOK

Plot: team avatar 3.0 must stop a group called the clan from taking over the world
Book 5: legions
Plot:villains from previous 4 seasons and descendants of Both atla & LOK form a villain team to get revenge on team avatar 3.0
Book 6: invasion
Plot:team avatar 3.0 must save the world from an alien invasion & Learn the aliens have a connection to Raava & vaatu & their world’s past it will be set 2 years after book 5 Chen & team avatar 3.0 prepares to celebrate the day that the 100 year war ended but then reports of UFOs begin to appear all over the 5 nations & they launch a full on attack & abducted everyone & team avatar 3.0 must learn the reason they invaded their world & why they are here it will be revealed thru plot twist they are raava & vaatu’s people & The world that the avatar universe takes place on is a post apocalyptic earth which is the result of the aftermath of an alien invasion 610,000 years ago raava & vaatu were sent there to terraform the planet but raava turns good & turns against her people & save the planet but this results in the reset of civilization and a connection to an alien planet (revealing that the spirit world is really an alien planet) The animal hybrids are mutated animals the 5 nations are what’s left of Asia it would be inspired by the Independence Day movies (regardless of what you think on the 2nd movie)
Other groups of nations that will appear in book 6 The duo nations are what’s left of Europe the Crown mesa nation is what’s left of Australia The sand wild nation is what’s left of Africa Desert nation is what’s left of the Middle East The trio nation is what’s left of North America jungle nation is what’s left of South America

But Kuruk was born in the Northern Water temple. And you stated that the birth of a water avatar cycles between tribes.
They assumed the Air avatar died. THATS why they were killing waterbenders in the southern tribe! They were looking for the next avatar!

Aang was almost going to do it in The Promise comic book trilogy but he went against it thankfully.

I really wish they never explained the spirit realm or the avatar state, it’s just better unexplained

Though not as drastic as Kyoshi creating an island, he did create a moat around Yu Dao to separate it from both the Earth Kingdom and the Fire Nation (he also did create a new place, but more geopolitically than geographically, as one of the founders of the United Republic of Nations)

I have an idea for the next Avatar series: The world is similar to a futuristic Earth where the next Earthbending Avatar is actually a set of fraternal twins who share the Avatar spirit. This is unlikely but something different.

@@lordshennington2756 eh we probally got the jist of most of his experances allready. Kioshi was more subtle that needed explantion which made the comic good. we have 1000s of avatars we can use that we never seen or hurd of that can almost be sold as fanmade lore by now without really hurting the main story.
My theory on why Korra speaks with the voice of rava is that she was born close to the harmonic convergence and raava and vaatu most powerful during this time. Meaning rava at her most powerful can overpower every avatar
i think its because she has no connections to her past lives so the only voice there is rava's.
10,000 years may seem like a long time, but if each Avatar lived an average of 75 years, there wouldn't be more than 133 Avatars in a period of 10,000 years. That's not a lot of Avatars, and Roku himself said that "I have mastered the elements a thousand times in a thousand lifetimes." That number was not likely accurate; either way, 1,000 Avatars would take well over 10,000 years, if each Avatar lived about 75 years each, and we already know Kyoshi lived for 230 years.

Remember, Korra is the new avatar. Because of poor editorial directions, she had all the past avatars beaten out of her by a spirit.
