Y’all should do an episode to check out the most *unique* CrossFit boxes in the country. I think BCF in Banks, Oregon would be great to visit. Facility was built BY the members and has the nickname “the farm”. It has an outdoor rig, outdoor track, a kids corral, yoga studio, massage space, and a pellet stove to warm up next to in the winter. It’s definitely the most unique space I’ve ever seen. If you visit, be sure to say hi to the horses. You might even spot some world champion Olympic lifters (maybe even an Olympian) on your visit.
Yes! Definitely check out Chelsea Athletica Gym in Ontario, Canada-one of the world’s best-looking gyms! It's a must-visit for anyone exploring unique and stunning CrossFit boxes.
I did a college paper on the prevalence of injuries in Crossfit. It is no more injury pronce that any other sport or exercise system. The #1 cause of injuries in any gym is ego. I have a Bachelor of Science in Alternative Medicine.
@@talesin13 your ego is not your amigo! also, did you break it down by sex too? bc i’d bet my bottom dollar that the percentage of men injured was much higher than women. a combination of ego and probably intelligence 😅 😆
Absolutely! I used to work in sports recovery. Gymnastics has a much higher injury rate than CrossFit, but maybe more surprisingly so does just running. I think Khalipa made a great branding suggestion to differentiate the competition from the training.
THIS is CrossFit. Great people in affiliates all around the world, working to get a little better each day. Thanks for highlighting what makes this community special.
You guys should have sent someone anonymous into these gyms. I don't doubt the fact that reviews could be wrong, but they definitely have the ability to alter their egos, attitudes, and direction when everyone knows who you are.
Love the idea. But you should have sent someone inside incognito so they didn’t know they were being tested. Also shaving portion was a little creepy. Shout out to gym owner wearing no rep shirt!! 🦇
Love this! This is the kind of content that I felt like CrossFit should have had their media team put out instead of firing you all. This would have been a huge boost to the affiliates and a great way to put some focus on the affiliates to go with the content of the games athletes.
Man, I hope dollar shave club paid well for that. If they don’t use that on all their socials they’re marketing department needs the CrossFit media treatment. 😂😂😂
This content really shows the world that crossfit its not the games and definitly its a safe sport and great for your overall health ❤. Thanks for making this kínd of videos
Shout out for the serious quick fire question and answer for Dalin, well done for doing it and well done for keeping the honest answer in 🤙 solid start to the series!
I played rugby for 20+ years were I broke my nose (multiple times), fingers, ribs, ankles, had endless cuts, black eyes, pulled and torn muscles along with a few concussions, and when I stopped playing I started CrossFit (around 2013) and I was surprised how many of my team mates who’ve experienced the same issues in rugby as I have, some far worse (broken neck), telling me CrossFit is dangerous and causes injury. All sports cause injury it’s up to the person taking part to decide if they feel up to it and if they feel they are not being warmed up properly or that what they are being asked to do is outside of their ability they should stop and speak with the person leading the session.
I've can't believe I'm about to say I wish my affiliate had a 1 star review. Great video guys, highlights what is great about CrossFit; the day in and day out of people getting 1% better at their affiliate! One United People CrossFit would love to have you guys if you're ever in Vancouver BC
Yeh a bit disappointed with the overt cheerleading here; not a fan of reviews anyway but clearly some folks had poor experiences/ injuries and posted context relevant to those experiences. Perhaps these affiliates took it on board and improved. We'll never really know. BB could have been a little more objective, please don't become Crossfit mouthpieces.
Love the Video, HOWEVER, as a former HS coach, someone who has had major surgeries, I have been to poor CF gyms where the young L1 Coaches, former military (Shout Out to ALL of our service men and women), DID NOT know the science behind adapting movements based on body type, fitness levels, and previous injuries/surgeries etc. I give most CF gyms 4/5 stars, but some are not run well. That is expected in any franchise. You should have hired undervocer normal fitness folks. So that its not a commercial for CF - you could have found at least one CF gym that need to approve. Overall - I would recomend CF to anyone
Omg you guys 😂 I left that review for CrossFit Central in Austin last summer, and it was left on their OTHER location’s page, not the one in this video! And it was for a Hyrox class that they had last minute changed into a Deka comp run through. There’s 100 more details in that review that ate done justice here 🤪.
Loved the video. It was made quite evident that the affiliate CrossFit gyms are very much about health and fitness as opposed to the televised CrossFit games. At my small gym in a small community in Idaho just the title CrossFit turns many people away since people associate CrossFit with the games. Scaling and injury modification are not looked down upon. Thx again for video.
I was an affiliate owner for 6 years and wished CrossFit would send ‘secret shoppers’ around to audit programs and report back to CFHQ and the affiliate owner.
This episode was such a cool idea! Great job thinking ahead for content. Also, don’t think I didn’t spot those buttery chubbies shorts! Hope they drop soon.
With all due respect they can completely switch up how they run the place as soon as they see the buttery bros, put on a motivated face be more positive then usual etc I think the only way to get a fully unbiased review would be for someone to go in like “undercover” to see what it truly runs like, just my opinion though.
CrossFit is dangerous when you have coaches that are careless. After 3 years in CrossFit of which I absolutely loved by theway I suffered a career ending injury by neglect from a CF coach. Even though I told him my body wasn't performing right that week he decided to pit me with one of the fittest RX men in the group. Well let's just say it's now been 3 years and still undiagnosed and unable to do the things I love as a result, including CrossFit. CrossFit needs to do a better job of raising their standards for coaches for them to understand that it should be a safe place for general fitness as most of us will never see the Games. Especially in a sport that can be very hard on the body.
Sounds like ego my guy. Blame others or look within. Not to say coach shouldn’t have put you in the position but only you’re in control of what you do. It’s a fine balance of when to push someone and when to not but it’s also a fine balance on us the human in control of our body to accept the challenge
@TheWavemtn182 I wouldn't say it was ego as I was terrified that work out to compete because of an injury I was nursing. That being said could I have said no?! Absolutely. I did it more out of pressure than ego though. Look up ego and get back to me mate because I don't think you know what the definition is. Ego would have had me go 110% and lifting 100% of my max weight but I was completely dialed back and scaled.
@@bradbruce I think ego may work in more ways than going 110% and lifting 100% but I hear you. I apologize for going right for ego if you have a different experience. I hear you on some coaches not creating a safe environment AND I would say that is a really tough thing to control across all affiliates if a human being is ever the one coaching. So… what do you propose they do? If they do already require certifications, what else can be done? I would hope someone, the coach or gym owner especially, would have got with you on how to solve your injury and give you ways to continue in the gym that would mitigate the injury and help it. Did you not receive that? If not, that’s a gym issue not a crossfit issue. The beautiful thing about crossfit is it lets the business owner run things how they see fit. This is also the issue! Because some gyms may and will miss the mark. Such is life though. IMO. So what are we to do? (I’m genuinely curious your opinion also!)
@TheWavemtn182 appreciate the message. Let me rephrase CrossFit isn't dangerous. Some coaches are and they are the minority. Couple of things CrossFit can do better for certification. 1. Develop a longer curriculum for CrossFit Coaches with a HEAVY focus on injury prevention and injury aftercare for members. Having a two day weekend course is simply not enough to qualify anyone as a coach. 2. All gyms MUST have their head coach have a degree in Kinesiology. 3. If a gym experiences an injury they must do everything in their power to help that athlete work through their injury. PS to answer your question my gym did absolutely nothing for me. Even though they had a trained therapist on site. They didn't even check on me afterwards even as the Doctors crushed my hopes of potentially never being able to do it again. Basically what I got was a hope you heal and good luck to you. At the end of the day yes I decided to do the workout even though I had a feeling I shouldn't have and I do and have taken person accountability for that but there should also be some accountability on the other end as well. Being a GM for one of Canada's largest traditional gyms we seen literally no injuries why is it that some CrossFit boxes experience them all the damn time?! There is something to be said here and in my opinion it's 100% unqualified coaches teaching others.
Having the buttery bros in Hoboken and only 30 min from an excellent pancake spot…. Need insight when you in this area again I got you for a good box and pancakes
1. I did NOT expect to see so much thigh in this video… 2. I NEEEEED a pair of those running shades! WHAT?! 🔥 3. This is an incredible video and concept all around. I’m for sure taking a few pointers to improve my own coaching and gym community!
Well the reality of it is. When the buttery bros and a CrossFit games athlete show up. You are not going to get the real experience. There are bad CrossFit gyms out there.
30:06 Men ! Ibiza is in Spain which is member of the European Union (EU). Discriminating based on the geographical origine of the customers is illegal. There's a big difference between saying "you can scale" and coaches that actively make sure everyone is properly scaling. I just left a crossfit gym after 6 months because I was so over the bad coaching and over-programming (PRVN) that didn't leave enough time to really warm up and build weight. Shoutout to Ryan Trahan for the concept for this video. Check out his TH-cam if you enjoyed this, dude is a legend.
Will Tennyson did something like this a while ago too
THE Content CrossFit needs. This is why CrossFit HQ needs a media team.
Awesome video. Just given my gym a 1 star review to cop a visit.
💯

Can I send it to all my friends? 😂
i do not have a degree in anything related to medicine or sports therapy. I'm a sports fan and have made similar observations.
Is it possible to get that paper I would like to read it… I’m about to do my level 2
Hey,how am I supposed to wake up like a miserable old bastard when you guys are so damned positive and happy? Stop making me smile!!!!😁
THIS is CrossFit. Great people in affiliates all around the world, working to get a little better each day. Thanks for highlighting what makes this community special.
Dollar Shave Club commercial was the highlight
This is great! Getting into the affiliates, showcasing what the majority of us do on a daily basis. That’s what CrossFit is.
Quality content guys!
Really cool concept and content. Yet another reminder that CF HQ was nuts for letting y'all go.
You guys should have sent someone anonymous into these gyms. I don't doubt the fact that reviews could be wrong, but they definitely have the ability to alter their egos, attitudes, and direction when everyone knows who you are.
For sure they could’ve done that and we could’ve sent someone anonymous. Thanks for watching tho
Big thumbs up. Make this a series, more of these!
Love the idea. But you should have sent someone inside incognito so they didn’t know they were being tested. Also shaving portion was a little creepy. Shout out to gym owner wearing no rep shirt!! 🦇

😂😂 the Dollar Shave Club commercial! LMAO! 🤣 Julian especially cracked me up
Man, I hope dollar shave club paid well for that. If they don’t use that on all their socials they’re marketing department needs the CrossFit media treatment. 😂😂😂
Love the message here, all about community and being healthy!
noble of you guys to take this on for the sport you love. Thanks for the video.
Love the messaging. Spreading the love, education. Awesome guys.
Love promoting smalls gyms and getting the CrossFit experience out there
This was cool. Thank you for doing this! The dollar shave commercial…why have we not seen that on tv yet?!
Dallin lookes so smooth on the Push Press. Nice to see high level athletes do fundamentals well. Cheers!
Good vibes, good people, highlighting where crossfit shines and possibly the best dollar shave club ad ever. 5 thumbs up.
Thanks for coming by! Hope ya’ll are still loving your KYX👟💙
This content really shows the world that crossfit its not the games and definitly its a safe sport and great for your overall health ❤. Thanks for making this kínd of videos
What a great episode - I'd love to see you guys visiting more boxes all over the world!
Shout out for the serious quick fire question and answer for Dalin, well done for doing it and well done for keeping the honest answer in 🤙 solid start to the series!
Thanks! To clarify this isn’t a series.
This is CrossFit. I love the games but more of these random drop ins with the pros. Awesome video.
What a great concept!! Really enjoyed watching this episode 😀

I always love when Tommy makes a surprise appearance! Also, the shoe game was on fleek! (Obvs a Millennial) lol
😂 Jules origin story is epic! Top 5 my dudes
Buttery Bros is the new media team of Crossfit
Yeh a bit disappointed with the overt cheerleading here; not a fan of reviews anyway but clearly some folks had poor experiences/ injuries and posted context relevant to those experiences. One of the best ads I’ve ever seen for DSC. Well done

That HEBER look when Dallin pressing😅
I 100% agree with Jason Khalipa's comments! Great content guys - again!
Great Video! I did love that the google wanted to auto populate “is CrossFit a cult” 😂
I give this video ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
You the best
This video made me SMILE sooo much! Definitely needed this today. Also, that was the absolute BEST in-video ad I've ever seen!! Keep it up :)
Awesome video concept dudes! Also, that social shave club add had me howling 🤣🤣
Awesome video!!!! A lot of good points made, especially the suggestion made by Jason!
Amazing video! Loved that you dropped into a bunch of classes!

Thx again for video.
This is so awesome. Thanks for your energy, we need more people like you guys ❤
You guys keep providing the best CF content. Thanks!
Love this video! It’s a common misconception about CrossFit and that it’s dangerous. I hope this clears it up for everyone that it is not.
Jules wearing a Korn shirt at CrossFit Southbay! So sick! Born and raised in Bakersfield so that’s cool to see
Julian wearing the hotshots tee ♥️🙌🏼
I was an affiliate owner for 6 years and wished CrossFit would send ‘secret shoppers’ around to audit programs and report back to CFHQ and the affiliate owner.
It took me a few accidents to learn to trust my body over a programing..!!
LESSON HERE. Mars can't read
CrossFit needs you back more than ever!
Do they? We are very happy outside.

You need a Hairstrong band for your hair! No matter where you put it, it won't budge during box jumps 💪
5 star review for that ad shoot
Great work on this!!! Help those businesses!!! Loved it! The hair is coming in nice. I was worried for a little bit! Looks good, bro!!!
Southbay in Redondo is awesome
I was there in 2015 and 2016.
I still have a shirt from there.

We need more content like this
Where can I get that pink dinosaur robe? 😂
Chubbies
Marston's hair is on point.
Great video. Next time fly over to South Africa and check out the CrossFit gyms🤘
17:50 the review wasn’t well written but reading it incorrectly also doesn’t help lol
5 star video! Well done!
NoRep shirt @14:00. 🦇🦇🦇
Don't hate on Zumba now. LOL! It's a fun and great cardio workout.

Totally fair and accurate
My garage gym is 18' x 12'! Haha hare to see a review of mine!
More content with Dallin please…
