I just did my first Hyrox earlier in March in DC along with over 15 other members of 460 Fitness.
It was an amazing experience. Very, very tough. I didnt it solo in about 1:35. Kristi and Mal made things look way easier than it was! Lol.
I def recommend other CrossFit folks give it a shot! Train and do it with friends!!!

Genuine question (don't attack me for my curious mind): I've heard CrossFiters attack Hyrox for the same reasons that people NOT in crossfit attack crossfit. My question: There have been tests and demos done between sports, with crossfiters winning hyrox events by minutes then taking those same athletes and putting them in the crossfit space and again the crossfit athletes win. So is the hate towards Hyrox just or unjust? I feel like it is a lower impact sport geared towards high levels of cardio, minimal weightlifting, and more endurance based. Is Hyrox just "Crossfit lite"???
Just a different sport with similarities. In baseball, football, and basketball you throw a ball, but there are things that very different in each sport.
@@ButteryBros1Sure, but Kristi coming in and placing first in her first ever Hyrox, and Mal and her manager finishing second in their first event is a powerful indication that there’s an element of “Crossfit lite” to it. Edited to add that Hyrox definitely does not have the community, wod, local boxes, etc. It’s racing only, albeit with more room for non-elite participants (like me).
@@TIO540S1 Maybe it’s because Hyrox is kind of a young sport. Once it gets more attention, you may start to see more elite athletes take it on.
In my area CrossFit boxes are adding hyrox and Deka classes. I think this is to appeal to more people. Not everyone wants a heavy barbell but they still want functional fitness. Hyrox and Deka appeal to people that want weights and running….or that simply want longer workouts. Deka is like Hyrox lite with your choice of no/little/medium running.
I don’t see too many elite CrossFitters doing elite hyrox….just like I don’t see elite hyrox doing elite CrossFit outside Hunter or Meg. Kristi is a rare example of an elite that could do both because she’s always had very good running endurance.
I think Hyrox is just fun as exercise is! Crossfitters are very capable if they train regularly and why not just throw down in a Hyrox.
In germany it was booming in 2018 and 2019.... now it is already decreasing significantly

I feel sorry for the emcee, somebody in record keeping seriously bungled that one. This episode was definitely a lot of fun to watch. Looks a lot like a Deka Fit race except at a much higher density of participants.
He was really gracious, I’m pretty sure it was us registering super last minute with teams AND shouting at him mid ceremony. The whole experience was super fun
