      @RenegadeRedoer That's the thing. It's been OCG for years, and some may argue a decade. MBT made a joke of "paying for the sins of BA." And he's essentially right. When was last time they gave us a TCG Exclusive and didn't blatantly hold back the card design? Like at that point, don't make them as Exclusives and just release the whole thing in an OCG set and have it ported. So at least wave 2 is actually a 2nd wave. Instead of parts 1 and 2.

      @gerbygerbs7705 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      The archetype has a clear direction at least. It's so close, if hero could pop anything if veidos is on board, if there was a way to protect your ashened monsters when veidos is popped. Spearhead being a quick effect. The deck is lean enough to run 12-15 hand traps so realistically you can stun your opponent turn 1, turn 2 set up the veidos plays, turn 3 do your dark hole into feather duster line and turn 4 kill them. Going first you get to draw 1-2 extra cards and do the veidos set up. You're really only weak to ash on veidos but have plenty of bait for it. IMO if the two OCG cards are strong, the deck becomes immediately rogue with weird interaction points. Yes I'm coping super hard, but I think the deck is more in the gold pride / ghoti lane than the war rock / mutant one.

    The worst part about bad TCG archetypes is that they are the only thing we have to spice up the TCG meta. Most of the time, the TCG is is stuck copying the decks the OCG has already figured out. There is no fun in getting new decks revealed, then having to wait a few months while someone else gets to play with them, until they are bored and we get them passed down. Anytime we get a deck first, even if it's not unplayable, it feels like a wasted opportunity if it doesn't have a significant impact.
    Gold Pride and Plunder were okay, Beetrooper was DPE turbo for a few weeks I think. What was the last truly powerful TCG deck? Spyral and Subterror only got strong because of OCG support, Kaijus were just one off removal or side deck cards. Dangers came out half a decade ago

    You pointed out a lot of the decks flaws that I’ve noticed while play testing. One thing I felt the deck needed was another Veidos type monster to pop field spells in the event that your veidos does gets hit with ash. It could also give some more advantage to the deck such as recursion from grave or adding names from deck. It would probably need some restrictions because to many field spell hand traps would be bad but having more lines of play for the deck would be much appreciated given how the deck folds to one hand trap and how many cards mention your opponent having a monster with 2800 atk.

    - sorry any typo/error, english is not my first language -
    The one thing a agree is that the deck has many unecessary restrictions, but with the build i finally reached it feels overall very ok/fun. This is going to be one long comment:
    And well, i will judge the thing together with other cards and generic support - if you judge the 14 cards alone, yeah all the problems are very true.
    The deck feels ok both going 1st or 2nd - but we wave more tools for board breaking (Super poly).
    I will comment going through the deck cards (Is still a WIP):
    x3 Veidos; Well, truly the one card that if the deck fails completely, will be the one remembered and maybe even played. He does a lot. Kills field, disables some decks by being a body (kashtira, sky striker, imperm) - the one annoying/funny thing is that he can be ashed. "Veidos, the Ashable Dragon". The fact that its nuke is a Dark Hole and not Raigeki was a red flag from the start when the archetype was revelaed. It is very annoying, but we have to live with it. (maybe in the future they will use it better).
    x1 King; Before the 2nd wave, there was a lot of discussion of the ratio of this card. A lot of times you would have he in the field without a 2800+atk monster on op field; Now, it feels a lot better, almost always you will use it, because is the "combo" (i think it's better to call "setup") piece when you blow up your first obsidim with the Veidos - he gives you basically 3 options: Set up the board wipe (the two veidos effects), play hero to slay veidos and get a new obsidim, or spearhead to give veidos back to hand if you are not that confident with the other plays;
    x1 Hero; other flexibe card. He can be a combo piece, attacker (unfortunately not defender due to the silly "only pyro" restriction, unless you quick pyro with the trap on GY). He also sets up the dark hole Veidos play if you have no other options;
    x3 Kashtira Fenrir; Well, what can i say? the deck need every tool it can gets its hands on. Good going 1st (allow the shangri-la defensive play if you want it), good going 2nd to break boards. Searches you Riseheart to make Banshee. You rarely use your normal summon on this deck. (be aware of the xyz lock).
    x1 Spearhead; Yeah, ignition bounce does not seems very good right? the more i played the more i saw this card can be good on the right moment. At the worst times, is simply an lvl4 extender body; But at best i can out certain problematic bosses, give back Veidos. Now, the only good thing about tributing itself is that at least gives you a body for the quick play negate. I really wish this card had some extra effect like adding an Ashened card from GY to hand or something like that. This card shows how dishonest Konami TCG is.
    x1 Shaman; She enables a lot of interesting things. I almost tempted to run 2 of her, but i want to avoid bricky hands. A card that you want to see in the grindgame. It allow you to run the fewer copies of your main deck monsters and also the extra deck ones. Also, like spearhead, at worst is a lvl4 extender body;
    x3 Priestess; Well, this one i dont need to say much. I agree that feels a bit bad to search Obsidim with it if you really does not get other tool to do that;
    These numbers for the level 4s feels very ok because of Bonfire. (i will not comment on bonfire price because it costs 500 bucks on my contry, and our money works like dollar)
    x3 Ash Blossom; Feels kinda funny to play another ASH card XD - simply the best (or at least top 3) handtrap of almost every format;
    x3 (OCG) Purulia; Well, it's Maxx C, but worse/maybe fair; This one i need more testing, sometimes is amazing, other times is useless/discard fodder. But, the fact that it is a Lvl 4 is really good for banshee;
    SPELS/TRAPS
    x3 Talents and Tactics; Op consistency tools; Who does not love a pot of greed? (maybe will reduce the number of Tactics, can be kinda bricky - but Veidos body enables it);
    x1 Terraforming; We play x3 different fields; so it is a must play;
    x3 Bonfire; More than being extra copies of 3 of our cards, it gives a lot of flexibility on how to open your plays;
    x3 Extinguishing; 3 Extra copies of Veidos is very essential; Two things the deck needs ir order to work - Veidos and Obsidim. Also, you can think of the fusion (Embers) as an extra copy of Obsidim a lot of times. ALWAYS is good to have obsidim on hand/field; The pyro lock is thankfully only after use. But overall the plan here is not to depend so much on generic extra deck monsters. We are going all in;
    x3 Awakening; The power play of the deck. This card alone setup all ashened plays. As an extra it can work as a trap against field spell decks (yeah our deck really messes up any deck that depends on using a field spell); The fact that putting the field dodges all protections is very good;
    x3 Super Poly; yeah, i have no shame. Ashened are not Ashamed of using this (plz murder me); Obsidim makes us, kinda of a board breaker deck, and this one is a very flexible tool. The discard hurts a bit.
    x1 Set rotation; Another VERY powerful card. A lot of times can be better than Awakening (if you already have Veidos). Normally the play here is to give op Obsidim and put Planet Wraithsoth (kashtira field spell). It also serves as oponent field spell removal. The restriction (cant activate new field if one is set) can be dangerous if your veidos gets negated, so be aware of that.
    x1 Rekindling; A lot of people complained about this one. It feels perfectely fine. Has the benefit of being the only way to recycle your traps. At the right time saves your life; But i really wish it had an extra effect in GY. Another example of Konami giving TCG the finger.
    x3 Obsidim; The life and blood of the deck. Normally we can get 2 copies of this card per turn, so you will almost always feel the power of the draw 1 at the end of the turn.
    Testing this deck i did now felt the problem you said in the video that much. We have many ways to access the card.
    x1 Chicken Game, just left the banlist; Basically an upstart with benefits. Going card neutral while giving veidos a way to go off is simply good. And you can recycle this card with Embers.
    x1 Planet Wraithsoth; For our kashtira mini engine - also works as Veidos fodder;
    x1 Ashened for Eternity; This card feels very fine for what it is. One of it's best uses is to save GY veidos from Called By the Grave when nuking the board. Also, this card alone enables some silly builds with Adventurer Token, Kaijus and Nibiru; I want to experiment more with it;
    x2 Ashened to Endlesness; I was so dissapointed that this card did not have the same name as the spanish version (Ashened Until Eternity); I wish i could play x3 of it, but that would be to bricky (you really don't want to see the traps in your starting hand); This card enables all the shenanigans with Veidos on the field. Every time Veidos is on the field, this becomes a Gun pointed at the opponent. The more pyro fusions they release, the better this card will get. The best, and most fun play of the deck is the full opponent board wipe. Some decks really struggle to avoid it, or go through not optimal plays because of it. If the deck ever reaches some relevance is because of this type of play.
    But, has you pointed in the video, the ONE big issue, the one where konami draw the line on the sand, is the "making opponent pyros on their turn". I still thinking if would be better for the game having this. Would definitely make the deck much better.
    The GY effect is cute, but did not come up that often - you can use the card to save a veidos nuke from called by the grave, or enable Hero pop, or in the grindgame, enable the second copy of the card. Because of this, is the normal sacrifice/target for Fusion Veidos effect.
    Yeah, we have at the moment 49 cards - but still, feels fluid - most of the cards, get other cards so you go through resources fast. The risk is more chance of the full brick hand or not enough starters. More tests needed.
    continues:

      @jardelholub9409 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      EXTRA DECK (very wip):
      x2 Fusion Veidos; Feels very good to drop him on opponent head, while also having at minimum 4.5k atk. The one thing that pisses me off, and i agree a lot with you is how it disruption effect works. If at least he destroyed the card it would enable Obsidim; But its okish;
      x2 Embers; Feels very ok. It's utility comes most form its materials. Prime target for super poly if you have Obsidim. The Field spell retrieval is actually pretty good (as i said, we always want obsidim in hand/field). And it's offensive power is not to be ignored. One thing that sucks is that it does not have destruction protection, some times you are forced to make it with veidos and the trap to nuke things;
      2 of each really feels necessary. One because most of our plays revolve around these cards, and the pyro lock;
      Also shaman lets us recycle them if needed.
      The super Poly mini package: x1 Garura and x1 Mudragon.
      x1 Chaos Angel: Garura + any lvl 4 ashened; Helps to break boards. Battle protection can give you time;
      x1 Banshee; One of the enablers of the deck. It gets you what you are missing. Either Veidos or the Field. Ideal material of S;P;
      The generic utility package: x1 S:P, x1 Typhoon. (maybe Zeus too?).
      x1 Kashtira Shangri-la; This one sets up a defensive turn 1. Its very easy to end turn 1 with this on board and a bunch of Ashened monsters and Veidos on Opponent field. It also protects itself from Veidos Nuke wich is nice.
      And that is the v1 deck. Feels very ok and fun. When it slaps, it slaps. But a min/max of board breakers and handtraps is necessary after reading the format.
      that's the best i reached so far. I really like this deck and theme (its funny, because i never played Dark Souls).
      What the deck needs?
      Well. Some Ideas:
      - The one custom card that they probably will never make: Another field spell that treats itself as Obsidim in deck/field/GY. Makes op monsters pyro on their turn. Maybe searches on activation, and sets original obsidim when blow up? something crazy - maybe even an Orcust Babel effect to make ignition ashened quickies (king and Spearhead).
      - Main deck monster that summons another Ashened from GY. More GY use and recycle;
      - Way to protect your monsters from the Veidos Nuke (kinda silly wanting a "solution" for a problem they designed);
      - More fusions. In theme and pyros in general.
      One of the big issues is that pyro support revolves more around fire rather than pyros themselves. We need more pyro things. Because of this, this deck can only go up, i think.
      Well, if you read all this, thank you very much. I appreciated the video and wanted to give you some other perspective/take on the thing.
      Sorry for the long ass comment haha

    I'm still going to cook with them. Krishnerd Witch works with them pretty well. Kaijus help pop Veidos and can answer any negation on board. Volcanics offer solid burn and some spot removal, they're also a nice filtering system and build a grave. Shamen helps recover from Shifter, King pulls everyone from deck. They can build into Banshee to get the Colossus play (provided they wait to use Awakening or Extinguishing).
    Awakening and Extinguishing both search Veidos with their design and Extinguishing is an Ashened card which is searchable.
    Pot of Prosperity is pretty good for consistency.

    Circular of the Ashened
    Lvl. 4
    If Obsidim is in field zone: SS this from hand. During the Main Phase (Quick Eff): Discard this card from hand; place Obsidim from your deck or GY face up in either players field zone. If your opponent activates a card or effect while you control a Veidos card: You ca banish this card from your hand or GY; negate that effect and destroy the card.
    There, done. Gives T1 play against decks without fieldspells, Fusion Veidos becomes much better, Awakening cannot be ashed anymore and its another lvl. 4 extender for banshee.

    My only complaint is your take on the fusion trap. You are absolutely correct in that the type change should be an on field effect, BUT you'd either have to change it to a non continuos trap (but in that case veidos can't pull it from the deck) or have is send itself to grave after fusion summoning. Otherwise you'd be able to superpoly your opponent every turn so long as you have targets in your EXD for the low price of popping a field spell and i personally don't think any deck in general should have that kind of power.

    More like Triamid with a TCG exclusive tag on it.

    The fact that Konami brought out a fusion monster that is supposed to be used via Super Polymerisation (or Super Poly-like effects) that is not really generic at all but uses one of the rarest types in the whole game (Pyro) tells lots. You know, Pyro type. The one that is only ever used in the current meta dominating deck: Snake-Eyes. Really.
    I really wanted this to be good. But no.
    Also, why do you sound like Virgil.

    Konami doesnt support anything unless its waifu bait trash or crap that lets you just shit on your opponent via effects and monsters. Ashened has neither so its no surprise Komoney hardly gives a damn about it. BUT OH BOY TENPAI DRAGONS AMIRIGHT?!

    Whats wrong with the deck? No win con. Honestly its a super poly deck with bad fusion spells and monster, no way to search super poly, field spell that only turn enemy monsters in to pyro during your turn.

      Key point, awakening of veidos literally allows search for veidos without specifically naming the card
