    Here's a tip for anyone whose RV has a built-in 30A shore power cable that cannot unplug from the RV. I have been diligent about keeping mice out but a couple got in through the power cord opening while the RV was plugged in. I caught them with sticky traps but, to prevent further incursions, I got some stainless steel wool that I wrap around the cord just inside the door for stowing the cord. Before closing the door tightly, I tug some of the steel wool through the little cord opening, then snap the big door shut and slide the little door down onto the steel wool. This has not failed to keep mice out.

    Thanks for the thorough & easy to follow explanation. I no longer have a camper, but a friend of mine just bought a Coleman LT-17B, so I have found myself watching videos about them. I had a 16 foot Scamp which I may have kept if it had another 2 to 4 inches of headroom.

      Hi there complete Newbie’s here! After years of dreaming and talking about it, we are Finally going to buy our very first camper! I don’t have the slightest clue about how this works but I have been searching for a camper that’s not too big but big enough for 5 of us and this one seems perfect with the bunk beds! I stumbled across your video and I just wanted to say thank you for sharing all of these helpful tips on what to expect and for listing all of the necessities that we will need, I didn’t realize how little I knew about the camper world lol! We live in Michigan which isn’t too far from Illinois and I was wondering if you know of a good reasonable place to buy from? Also I was wondering if there are any safety precautions to take for small children? I have a 5 and a 6 year old so any advice would be appreciated and so helpful thanks a million 😃 Also you just gained another subscriber! Thank you!

    • @SmallFamilyBigDreams
      @SmallFamilyBigDreams  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes that's typical. Some people have made a 'gutter system' for it which seems to consist of a piece of trim and some of the rain gutter diverters for the camper. I didn't do that to ours but it seems like it would work better than letting it run down the camper.

    Has anyone had issues with the 17B ac leaking onto their bed?

    • @SmallFamilyBigDreams
      @SmallFamilyBigDreams  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Chad Post yes I believe they have. On the outside surround of the unit the weep holes are most likely plugged up with sealant. It's a n easy fix, just remove it and clear the holes and reinstall. That should help out. You might also check the pan under the unit and make sure it is sloped to the outside and make sure you level or even lean the camper slightly to that side.

    • @chadp_1Poutdoors
      @chadp_1Poutdoors 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Would you recommend DIY or have dealer do it? Camper is under warranty and only maybe 3 weeks “old” to us.

    • @SmallFamilyBigDreams
      @SmallFamilyBigDreams  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It really would depend on how soon you could get it in or how hands on you are. If you feel comfortable I would say that it could definitely be done at home so you wouldn't have to wait on the dealer to do it. Sometimes it take quite a while to get in and also get it back.

      Up Did the rest jacks fail ?? Or was it the pyramid Jack? I couldn't really hear on the video so I'm looking this up now on comments my back one seem okay I tightened them down to the ground and then today I went and checked them cuz they're wobbling a little bit so I went there they're loose I don't know maybe I should put some loctite and a blue loctite around there or some kind of I don't know silicone tape or something. I like the ones that you put up front I'm going to try to get those myself but right now I'm tired I just spent a lot of money getting this camper so I'm going to try to just get the pyramid ones that you had do they work okay without issues? Or should I get the ones that you have in your upgraded video
