This Gig should have been the Main Feature of the DVD instead of the Bloodstock Gig. This should have been released in full for us fans to enjoy. Let's be honest, this Gig is way better than the Bloodstock Gig.
Yep, old Bloodbath, first three albums...................are easily my favorites of the bands. Forgot to add, their first FIVE efforts, as I do really enjoy the 2 EP's as well \m/
Though Mikael here is on his point, you can hear there's something a little bit different on his vocals when you compare them with his previous years... Whaterever it was that fucked up his growls, it was already emerging in those days...
@@a_fuckin_spacemarine7514Mikael didn't take care of his voice (drinking, smoking and not practicing). And he lost his growl not because he was not "naturally" good at it.
It takes minute changes to the vocal chords to mess up a vocalist, sometimes you just lose the ability as you age. The problem for him nowadays is that the voice doesn't crack up properly so you can hear the regular voice bleeding through too much. His high's are still great though!
Death Metal shouldn't be played in broad daylight. Nor should Black Metal. Like Wacken putting Emperor on at 3 in the afternoon in 2014. Great set, no doubt, but it loses some of the magic without the darkness.
He said in an interview that there was one concert where there audio monitors weren't working properly so he couldn't hear himself which made him strain his vocal chords.
WTF happened to this Akerfeldt? Just listen to a couple years later, live Bloodbath. OMG he really busted his voice sometime during the later 2000's. Sounds great here, but not after this point; this point being the Watershed/The Fathomless Mastery era. Check out the video where Bloodbath does 2 songs on the last day of the Heritage tour (2011) and it just sounds bad. This sounds good, but earlier sounds better. Edit: I have a theory. I think he just did too much in the 2007/2008 period. Think about it....he did Unblessing the Purity, The Fathomless Mastery and of course Opeth's Watershed all in this time period. That is a lot of heavy vocal work and could have overstrained his voice....sadly.
maybe cuz he has more mobility and room for concentration as opposed to being in opeth pulling double duty as vocalist and guitarist. ....either way he's got growls in the bag with bloodbath and opeth
Omer Sela. Maybe just too many drugs, dude. Check out his performance with Bloodbath in The Wacken Carnage (2005) and you will see him headbanging like fucking Corpsegrinder!
I FUCKING HATE THAT THIS BAND IS A SIDE PROJET, AND ON THAT, MIKAEL ÅKERFELDT LEFT, THAT'S NOT OK. AND NOW THAT THEY ARE A SIDE PROJECT (Can't understand because it's the best Death Metal ever) THEY NEVER PLAY LIVE. I hate them for that seriously.
MickeeKarlsson. I agree they are better than many other bands that just could never even imagine to achieve this awesomeness! And the most unbelievable thing is that as you say this is not the principal band of none of them, they just do it for the love of the game! Sick!

Hail to you from Germany 🇩🇪
Akerfeldt is undoubtedly the best death metal vocalist. Bloodbath really made his growls shine.
I agree that Akerfeldt is incredibly talented but in terms of pure death metal, I think that Julian Truchant (from Benighted) outranks any singer.
Absolutely especially with Swano... two of the best

he's definitely one of the best, I always loved him and Frank Mullen the most of any vocalist in the industry.
Killjoy reigns supreme.
This gig made me see Blasting the Virginborn for the monster hit it really is, that inicial riff and solo are fire!

Agreed
Gil Brian Fuentes Better sounding - yes.
Yep agreed as well
you are right man! how many songs have this gig party san ? only 4 ?
Com certeza!!!
The Best bloodbath Line Up!!!

"Bathe in Blood" is one of my all-time favourite old-school death metal songs. The show was great. I've been there \m/
What I wouldn't do to go see this lineup play live today.
I was there and directly after Bloodbath Bolt Thrower performed on the same stage. That was the best death metal double feature ever!
I was there as an 18 year old boy. Bolt Thrower were on right after Bloodbath. Been to this festival every time since then. ❤
mike sounds good here
wtf how come i never noticed that vid earlier? im a huge bloodbath fan. this deserves so much more views, awesome quality.
GOAT Bloodbath \m/
I wish his growl will come back again😅😅😅🥹🥹🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘this is perfect 😊
You were saying something, bro? 😝
Happy birthday Mikael!

He used too much throat. I know cause I do the same thing, but unlike Michael, it's pretty natural for me, I can do it for hours at time, day in/out.

Never delete this please
It's definitely better in this performance than in some of the other live vids on youtube
some people don't really like this guitar tone. i however, am infatuated with it! HM-2?
Definitely HM-2.
HM2 into lead/distortion channel on the amp!
Is it really that hard to keep the camera on the guitars during the solo segments? Please....
Awesome. And yes, better than the Bloodstock set.
Because of his voice

@@dorianl7294 I agree with you but not everyone can play during the dark on Open Air Concerts, sadly
This is fkn good quality constructive death metalllllll..
This is so sick, such a stellar band
Holy shit is bathe in blood performance!
🔥
Swedish Death Metal sound comes from the Boss Hm-2 with maxed settings
@imhuge
Really SICK
So weird seeing Akerfeldt without a guitar
That bass drop kills me everytime at 10:22.
Peer is flawless... But Jonas and Anders are the main mans behind Blodobath. (and yes, Axenrot is a fucking beast)
Watch Live at Wacken, you will see more headbanging there.
That 2005 show fuckin smokes
They are both awesome
This is funny. Akerfeldt looks awkward with no guitar and Renkse looks awkward with an instrument! Good stuff though.
danishmaggot xD
he is the danishmaggot
You can tell he doesn’t really know how to move around without a guitar
Jonas plays a lot on the Kat albums, but you're right---it doesn't look like he's ever played live in his life, lol.
damn bathe in blood must've been fun live
fuckin' awesome ! better than the Bloodbath Over Bloodstock live where mikael's voice is really gone...
something weird happened to mikael's vocals between 2008 and 2010
He said in an interview that there was one concert where there audio monitors weren't working properly so he couldn't hear himself which made him strain his vocal chords.

Plus, to all of that, someone in the comments says that mikael said in an interview that he hurt his throat in a specific concert. Search it.
Age is a bitch as well.
We swedes eat metal for breakfast since ever.
Go listen to Sabaton, you nationalist simpleton. Racism doesn't belong here.
Mikael was a God then!
420 like, buen momento para ver esto

This is Deathmetal blueprint!❤
Nobody in Bloodbath looked more dead ever than this guy. Per "Sodomizer" Eriksson 1:04

Akerfeldt does not touch guitar! It is impossible!!!!
Sanna ord Leif
5:25 which song is that?
Bathe in Blood
Haha! Where do I get one? Seems like that'd be hard to come across :D
his growls sound better here then they do in opeth i find that odd

Åkerfeldt isn't a drug kind of guy. He stopped headbanging around this time cause he felt something go off in his neck and got scared.
