+Esteban Aguayo I'm more into technical death metal, but I have been always loved Bloodbath, especially with Mikael on vocals (love Peter too), when I listen to Resurrection or Unblessing/The Fathomless I always think that modern death metal bands just lacks of great death metal vocals.
+Power Chord Gamer Oh yeah, he doesn't want to make death metal anymore. But I also think that after 20 years of growling it takes a toll on your voice. Fortunately it hasn't affected his clean singing.
I play this to my twin babies when they're screaming thier heads off and wont sleep and it works like a charm they shut the fuck up like instantly and i love bloodbath so its win win
Been an Opeth fan for nearly 10 years now and I had no clue Mikael did this project. Discovering new Akerfeldt harsh vocals this late into the game feels like a really late christmas gift! Love this so far.
The Modern Hermeticist Agreed, I love all their work but this... This was pure magik, Satan was clearly speaking through Bloodbath the day they recorded this.
Easily one of the best Death Metal bands to date. All of their albums were fantastic. Great guitar and vocal work. It's a shame they lost Mikael Akerfeldt.
Very ...very good music ( like first album Ressurection Through Carnage ), great vocal by Akerfeldt, great "dirty sound" of guitar and something very evil in that
Mikael is the by far one of the best vocalists on planet earth........ The only man that can sound like an angel or the devil himself..... WOW!!! I didn't know he recorded EP's and albums with Bloodbath.... what a monster man..... Love him even more now, if possible lol
Too bad he can’t do these types of vocals anymore hence why Opeth hasn’t done what they have in the past. Blame it on changing it up but he always went between cleans and growls. It’s rough doing those types of vocals after a while too. Some can keep it up but most who continue mess up their throats. Wish he just went back to the heavy stuff again.
Justin Vega i agree. Trevor Strnad and Travis Ryan are 2 of the best vocalists that have been doing it for almost 20 years which is crazy. If anything, their vocals keep getting better. 👊
Only the first 30 Seconds of "Sick Salvation" destroy more than almost all Death Metal albums in 40min. Love this, with perfect drums, guitar and vocals.
Can someone explain to me why no one highlighted the breakdown at 5:22? The riff afterwards must be the best thing i've heard in death metal in a while!
Sometimes I get sad knowing Mikael lost interest in death metal and won't ever growl as he once did, but that doesnt stop me to enjoy his work, and admiring his contributions to death metal! A true legend! This EP is ferocious, Ghost Reveries-era growls is what I needed
tbh i love this artwork. love the music too, obvously, but i'm honestly into the dark, gothic-esque evil aesthetic these guys and a lot of the Swedish bands bring with that fucking guitar got DAYM
Vinyl EP on its way here. It's a bit of a hassle with a record player which needs to be part-disassembled in order to get 45 RPM, but I'll gladly do that. ;-)
Now imagine the same artwork but with a hexagram instead of a cross. That would for some reason be unacceptable and grounds for censorship..... To know who rules over you, look to who you are not allowed to criticize...
@@toprak3479 Well, I'm still waiting haha. Haven't been keeping up with the metal scene lately, been exploring other genres. But I'd still very much love to discover some kick ass bands.
@@dejctextremely late on this but i love both bands(opeth is my fav band ever) i have to say during their 90's Opeth stuff he had such a unique vibe to his voice sounded more primal than the bloodbath stuff
16 minutes of absolute fucking destruction.
yesssss
and fucking blasphemy!!!!
Nobody will top Mikael on death metal growls for me. He has the aggresion, power, yet clarity that only comes from natural talent.
+Esteban Aguayo tell that to him, lol. its been years since a heavy opeth album... he's gone soft
+Power Chord Gamer He can't do vocals like this anymore.
+YoLpIsBest Really? why not? is is a health reason? that sucks. i always thought he went soft and didn't want to make heavy stuff anymore :/
+Power Chord Gamer Oh yeah, he doesn't want to make death metal anymore. But I also think that after 20 years of growling it takes a toll on your voice. Fortunately it hasn't affected his clean singing.
This is one of the best DM EPs ever.
This, Breeding death, and Misery index's "Overthrow" round out the top 3
I'm praying for you the mighty blood of satanichrist
The best**
Despise the Sun says "hello' and waves to you.
Honestly their best - short, concise, all killer and no filler.

You were in for a treat eh? I think this album is the greatest showcase of his growling abilities. The gnarliest growls he's done.
Did you know that Mikael sang on two albums of Katatonia - Brave Murder Day and Sounds of Decay?
Honestly the goat
10 years from now this EP will still give me goosebumps.
Fuck this album is better than food.
let's keep it realistic comparisons dude, "this album is better than food and sex."

The Modern Hermeticist agreed satan went to hell with this on the stereo.
Hell 👍
Want to go get BLOODBATH TSHIRT as soon as i get my check.. And stereo and record player to play BLOODBATH albums ..
@asdf asdfq apparently he hasn't. This is good, but not Breeding Death good
Easily one of the best Death Metal bands to date. All of their albums were fantastic. Great guitar and vocal work. It's a shame they lost Mikael Akerfeldt.
It's a shame Peter Tagtgren left the band
No doubt, Akerfeldt rocks - but I really dig that newer sludgy stuff with Holmes, too.

Agreed he is better than Mikael, wider range, more creepy growl

This is like one of 10 albums that I just keep coming back to. It's just so short and sweet and always manages to scratch my death metal itch.
Could be my favorite release from them. No nonsense badass and evil metal.
I never thought that i find the best Death Metal EP AND Cover in one amazing piece of art.
MadLipz Jagd if you can believe this was a fan artwork contest submission. Great artwork cannot remember who did it.
akerfeldt is the true voice of death metal.

👍 production sound.
The heaviest EP I've heard so far.
Pulled this video up 4 times now, better just buy the album.
12:45 absolutely crushed me when this dropped back in the day
First time listening to this in full. The first of MANY more times to come!
Face is the one of a reptile. Rotting teeth and lips! Speaking words of sick salvation, whispering eclipse.. Nothing beats Bloodbath \m/ 9:06

just crazy aint it?
My Favorite part of the album, was what got me hooked on the first listen and keeps me coming back. Such a baller riff
No shit right that drum fill kills me in the best way ever
The synth has a super evil vibe. Sounds like something you'd hear in Bloodborne. And the reentry of the band hits HARD.
Reminds me of Blackwater Park's main theme, 4 or 5 initial notes are the same
awesome ep.

This cannot be topped.
