Hands down one of the best death metal bands. And his growls are fucking nasty. Some of the best vocals in death metal. Wish he was more serious with bloodbath and we'd get another album with him on vocals
Haha right? I made that joke in the post on Exclaim!: exclaim.ca/music/article/opeths_mikael_kerfeldt_recounts_how_he_kickstarted_bloodbath_by_vomiting_on_the_wall
I prefer Peter Tagtgren. Akerfeldt's deep growls are slightly better but close. Tagtgren not only has those great deep growls but can get into the higher range growls and has way more power live than Akerfeldt
Remember when I was in Jr High I watched a drum cover of Bloodbath and I thought it was weird. I wasn't into Death Metal. Now that I'm a huge fan of Opeth I realized how fuckin badass Bloodbath is and knowing that Mike was part of it makes me really happy ! Legend!
The truth hurts, but that band did enough good to the world even back then, even not considering everething else. The best concert, albums, breakdowns and many more. At the end of the day, he is the artist and he deserves to be happy and give to the world what he has. Props to him and Bloodbath.
It's amazing that it started as a kind of nostalgia joke for him. Even his jokes are quality. That just shows you how insanely talented Mikael Åkerfeldt is. He is the god of music.
He could had been in Opeth and Bloodbath but he chose not to. It's perhaps best for him and Bloodbath too but not as good for the fans who were left in despair.
As much as it pains me that he left Bloodbath he did the right thing: spending his time with things he puts his heart in it. Bloodbath seems unfortunately not to be one of these things.
Unblessing the Purity still remains in my opinion the pinnacle of Bloodbath’s sound. Absolutely brutal vocals, those drum tones etc. it’s such a gross record and I mean that in the best way 🤘
🤘🤘🤘🤘mikael is a cool musician i ever met during opeth tour last year 2018!we take photograph together and signed my cds!sweet memories and best days of my life!🙂🙂🎸🔥
All 3 vocalists do/did a great job. I have personally never been disappointed with Bloodbath. They just kick your ass every single time and you love them for it :) Also, Mikael is being a bit modest about Unblessing The Purity. That might be the best death metal EP of all time, might. All of their stuff rules IMO. Theory: I think Mikael hurt his voice during that period (2007-2008) because he not only did Unblessing The Purity, but he also recorded The Fathomless Mastery and of course Opeth's Watershed. That is heavy vocal work and I think he overstretched too far (sadly). I think the vocals on The Fathomless Mastery are just badass and dark, but Mikael never sounded that good again. Just listen to Opeth's Live At The Royal Albert Hall from 2010. Just not the same, but love this little talk here, and Mikael is still a great musician, just not a death metal one anymore.
Mikael says at that time they didnt had any money to celebrate that mans birthday!!so in idea that had to preform a death metal band called bloodbath!🤘🤘🤘🎸🎸🎸
Blakkheim is the best composer, bm singer/vox all in 1. And of course all the others in bloodbath are on or near his elite level. Katatonia and Opeth are 2 of the world's greatest bands ever...combine that into a dm band and well there is bloodbath.
Behemoth and Bloodbath are very different bands. Completely different sound. It's like saying Morbid Angel is better than Entombed, but they are both too different to simply compare like that.
One of the most talented musicians to walk the earth.
Ghost • *was
I mean, when you look at Bloodbath's line-up, it's just full of incredibly talented musicians. Every single one of them. Past and present.
Right!!!
MJS2001 no, HE STILL IS!
MJS2001 he still is
He doesn't realize how truly special, amazing and good Breeding Death is. Down plays it so much
Man, right? Killer fucking tunes.
Hands down one of the best death metal bands. And his growls are fucking nasty. Some of the best vocals in death metal. Wish he was more serious with bloodbath and we'd get another album with him on vocals
Opeth has got what you’re looking for, as I’m sure you know
@@hmminterestinginterestingi3023 not really nearly as brutal as bloodbath.. Opeth makes me feel asleep
@@horseliver338 brutal sure, but bloodbath is shit compared to opeth musically
@@ArthaxtaDaVince777 Sure, but like I said, Opeth is a goddam snoozefest, boring music
@@ArthaxtaDaVince777 opeth makes me fall asleep.
BLOODBATH - The Wacken Carnage (2008) is the best death metal footage ever recorded live.. As well as best live death vocals!
I was there.
It was amazing
Best Death Metal Vocal!!! Eate-e-en!!!
breathtaking this show
It all makes sense now... that was some serious "Ominous Bloodvomit" haha lol...
Haha right? I made that joke in the post on Exclaim!: exclaim.ca/music/article/opeths_mikael_kerfeldt_recounts_how_he_kickstarted_bloodbath_by_vomiting_on_the_wall
So sad he left, his vocals are so unique and probably my favorite. There is no other death metal band like the old bloodbath.
Honestly, I think Mikael is the best death metal vocalist of all time. He has most insane growls I've ever heard, he sounds inhuman.
I prefer Peter Tagtgren. Akerfeldt's deep growls are slightly better but close. Tagtgren not only has those great deep growls but can get into the higher range growls and has way more power live than Akerfeldt

Fathomless Mastery is my favorite Bloodbath Album, so glad Mikael came back to record it.
Everything they do is amazing, but that "Unblessing the Purity" EP was the pinnacle of pure Deathmetal to me. Phenomenal.
The one with the warewolf blood ritual sort of cover art, yes that one was pretty good. At the time I had no idea Mikael did the vocals on that one.
Man absolutely
Defffffinitely
"Blasting The Virginborn" remains one of the most intense songs I've ever heard. Jesus H. Christ, what a rush.
The fact that it was just a bunch of talented, brutal fuckers having a good time makes me love Bloodbath even more. That's what it's all about.
Best death metal vocals in the game. Still makes great music no matter the genre
The truth hurts, but that band did enough good to the world even back then, even not considering everething else. The best concert, albums, breakdowns and many more. At the end of the day, he is the artist and he deserves to be happy and give to the world what he has. Props to him and Bloodbath.
what a legend. my dude
Winona McCormick what a comment. my girl
Mikeal is my inspiration.
His voice is so soathing, his screaming are brutal. how ?
Is that how the Bloodbath logo was designed 🤔, his vomit created the logo
No, it was influenced from gorement logo.
Amo con toda mi alma a este hombre. Todo lo que hace, lo hace perfecto. Mikåel mis respetos. 😘
It's amazing that it started as a kind of nostalgia joke for him. Even his jokes are quality.
That just shows you how insanely talented Mikael Åkerfeldt is. He is the god of music.
Must have been Mikael who came up with track titled Ominous Bloodvomit.
Bloodbarf.
Regurg deth mettle: Bloodbarf.
Barfbath!
Love bloodbath, really curious to hear what they would do to keep the next album fresh if they ever release it.
Blasting the virgin born is still my favorite song
One of the most legendary metal bands ever!
F d up when you let axe walk, homie
What for others means the entire world is just childsplay for Mikael. Really interesting!
He just didn't want to put too much effort in it. I apologise if I didn't get the joke ^^"
My idol/vocalist/leader death metal opeth/bloodbath sir mikael!🤘🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥🔥🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪
He could had been in Opeth and Bloodbath but he chose not to. It's perhaps best for him and Bloodbath too but not as good for the fans who were left in despair.
Mikael will always be a hero. And so will Skwigar.
I hope they make another record someday, somehow.
Moon Above, Sun Below is their most underrated song
As much as it pains me that he left Bloodbath he did the right thing: spending his time with things he puts his heart in it. Bloodbath seems unfortunately not to be one of these things.
love that he is helping hes friends in studio!
Unblessing the Purity still remains in my opinion the pinnacle of Bloodbath’s sound. Absolutely brutal vocals, those drum tones etc. it’s such a gross record and I mean that in the best way 🤘

Mikeal is good in both bands because those growls fit together. I know the pieces fit as Tool would say.
Every time I learn something Bloodbath related or see a video or listen to music from them I end up saying 'Holy fuck'.
awesome vocalist/musician....awesome calico mustache
“the lyrics can be ridiculous” yeah using piss for mace is pretty hilarious. fuckin love bloodbath, legendary band.
Bloodbath should hire septic flesh vocalist
The band fucked up when they cut the bridge short on "Furnace funeral". But, I took care of that when I edited the song myself ;)
I LITERALLY THOUGHT HE ONLY DID OPETH HAHAHAHAA
Blakkheim is the best composer, bm singer/vox all in 1. And of course all the others in bloodbath are on or near his elite level.
Katatonia and Opeth are 2 of the world's greatest bands ever...combine that into a dm band and well there is bloodbath.
2:33 mistake or destiny?
Amazing vocalist
El mejor vocalista que tendrá bloodbath en toda su corta historia
If ya wanna record demonic screams, vomit!
I did that and it ended up as a grindcore/pornogrind song. Death metal needs clarity in the screams and in musicianship.
I vomited on a wall once. It was great, I higly recommend it to everyone.
thank you
I ❤ his voice
The first albums were simply Beast material.
Some of their last albums are definitely good too, especially Grand morbid funeral.
stupid question, love bloodbath>its death metal genre band??
Yes, 100% a death metal band! :)
No, its country hip hop....jkn....its death black metal.
Did he shave with a spoon?
from where are those live footages?
Bloodbath over Bloodstock DVD if I am correct.
You are correct! Beat me to it.
So what albums did Mikael actually do vocals on with Bloodbath cuz I wanna hear lol
Breeding Death EP, Resurrection Through Carnage, Unblessing The Purity EP, and The Fathomless Mastery
Better than Behemoth
Fighting words for a lot of people, I'm sure. Bloodbath were one of my first death metal loves, so I'm not arguing, though.
Aggressive Tendencies it was my first love too.they re pure death metal
People just dont realize it. This is the true masterpiece its just not famous as bands like Behemoth that I mentioned before.
Béhémoth = Dog
Behemoth and Bloodbath are very different bands. Completely different sound. It's like saying Morbid Angel is better than Entombed, but they are both too different to simply compare like that.
Bro he needs to do ASMR 🤘🏻
Yo what was the footage from?
Good guy mikael.
how has nobody said this? that is metal as fuck.
Oddly nostalgic.
Maestro
Why did they hire that vocalist if he couldn't sing? Or does he mean he was ill or his voice was damaged?
Peter Tagtgren.
i vomit on the burnning cross must be the japanes hidden track
who is the vocal who couldn't sing ? is he referring to paradise lost's
No.
I think he is talking about Peter(Hypocrisy)
Not about Peter, he left and they found some dude but they realise he couldnt sing for shit so the called Mikael.
@@MrShaboo22 Wonder who it was? They opened it to the public for a while too
How did they even find a guy who can't sing??
He looks like Helge Schneider ;)
opeth Is awesome as fuck
is it me or does he look like dave grohl?
🎵What if i said i want to be eaten, what if i said im dying to feel the pain🎵
He looks like a mixture of all three guys from Nirvana.
No, he looks like Sirius Black and Italian Spiderman
Who's the 1 asshole that thumbs down this! This is just too cool!
Let's find 'em and break their thumbs!
When it’s not serious it’s better
Bloodbath > Opeth
He's so damn cool
