My dad was the master mechanic at Trailways in Albany and he took me to work with him from time to time and I loved the sound and smell of the Detroit 2stroke. He passed Away when I was 8yrs old and never got to learn much from him. Love your videos keep up the great work

    Congratulations on the “maiden run”
Been waiting to see her go down the road.
A bit frustrating due to sand and rain but what a beautiful note from the that V12. !!
Glad that truck found its way into your hands.
    It deserves a second chance.
    Actually is a museum piece.

They all get stuck easy brother, with no weight on them, even the new trucks get stuck if off road, but it helps a lot to have a diff lock.... That thing sounds great! That's awesome mate. I remember back when I was about 12 my Dad pulled our old fordson major tractor/loader out from sitting under the pine trees for about 8 years and got it going, steering wheel was dry chunky and brittle, Had no power steer, we used it to load bales hay onto trucks for a couple years, rotted exhaust too lol. She was a handful! I especially liked it when you hit a rock or bump in the ground and the steering wheel would spin around and tear a few layers of skin off! She was a good old beast. Love your work brother, keep up the good work, she's looking good👍 cheers from NZ🇳🇿

Looks like that thing is Centerpoint steering huh , LOL you're going to get a workout ! I drove some cabovers in the 90s mostly Freight shakers with either caterpillars or Cummins that big dozen buzzin was pretty much on its way out very rare engine to find in trucks, but you'll still find them in the marine applications they are a good Workhorse! Probably work on your interlock or what you would call a diff lock it's really not a Difflock just locks the two open differentials together so you have most of the power driving through both the axles instead of 70/30 at least you'll have two axles with opposite tires driving LOL open diffs. Or get a Detroit Locker insert in one of the Diffs. And to the airbags install a airbag dump valve that will give you a little added traction when you're in a stuck spot also helps with getting under low trailers . When stuck try starting out in a higher gear get some Wheel speed the big Detroit might complain a little bit and if you get to the point where it almost stalls out try not to run the engine backwards you will find that exhaust coming out the air cleaner is not very entertaining LOL, but all in all pretty entertaining vid.

That first drive is almost better than getting lucky but don't let the Mrs know lol. Air ride sucks with the power divider inoperable. Just keep working the kinks out your getting her sorted out. Soak it with some diesel fuel and wash it off that works best for me. Good job 👍👍👍

So nice to see it running again. Sound great and very little smoke. Is the issue that this truck doesn't have a diff lock, or is it just not working at the moment?

Not working because the air lines are all rotted.
