I like them and I use everything up as well. Got a scrap bag that comes in handy when I don’t have a particular fly in Ming but try something new. Thanks for the ideas, that’s where all the flies we use came from way back when.
Hackle pliers can definitely be your friend when wrapping and palmering hackle. I would definitely like to see you make some with beads. Get your tweezers ready it will help you thread the beads so you won't get stuck by the hook points. Enjoy these style of videos. This is geared towards what I make. Thanks 👍.One thing I forgot to add. Instead of using chenille I will tye my hackle in then advance the thread to just behind the head and wrap towards the head then sweep the feathers back and whip finish. It also helps to sweep your feathers back with each turn of your hackle it helps from getting the fibers or feathers trapped. Another technique is to strip one side of the feather before you tye in and wrap. I hope this makes sense.
@@ericmasseyjigco Thanks Eric. I learned from watching a lot of videos when I first started making jigs. Just like anything in life you learn by doing. It just helps before you start to kind of get an idea what your going to attempt to do. Thanks again .
please keep the ball head jigs from Jason making bream videos , i have order 200 1/100 and 200 1/80 from Jason for folks at Reelfoot to bream fish with. thanks for making the bream videos and glad you doing one with wings and could you do one with legs?
I tried to use some of the protec powder paint on a few unpainted jig heads. The color was supposed to be a superglow yellow. The jigs came out dark green. If I had a base coat of white paint then the color was closer to what it should be. Any ideas?

Nice gill jig. These also work very good on crappie. Thank's Eric.
Great looking jig. I would love to see the beads and hook setup.
😊 looking forward for the next one with rubber legs 🤗
That would look good in the Lilly pads at Reelfoot! I'm going to try to get over there this spring.
12:14 that is Killer 💯

Sometimes it’s the lead
And yes try using other base colors sometimes chrome/silver helps but my experience with super glows very thick
Overheating the paint can cause the darker color also
And reheating can cause it to look dark
@@BIGplanetLife If I put a white coat of first it comes out ok. I will do some more testing and try and make sure I dont overheat it.
It takes some practice to get all the bugs ironed out
I’m loving it very cool….
Can’t wait to see more I like them all
Awesome looking jig would like to know what size hook.
Awesome!! Why does fly jig tyers have their tails so long? It might just be me but I thought they should be shorter?
I agree
🎉❤🎉❤
U should try a mohair leech and the jig head is going to be the same thing as a bead unless u tie it balanced which is still sane thing
I like to use ice dubbing instead of chenille on my bluegill jigs, gets them even buggier and adds some flash.
I think this is awesome like to see both styles but I’m greedy…
like jig number one i ty one similar to it all the time
You use feathers, I tie bluegill jigs with calf tail.
love em
Awesome!
