I think I speak for all Soul fans when I say that rage quitting the fight is the most realistic death they could have given the chosen undead.

Ah, I see. So basically the chosen undead becomes hollow when the player gives up and rage quits?
I mean, if dragon Bourne can only die once, that would give tarnished move motivation to keep coming back that death battle ending doesn't do it for me.

Fun fact, while Dovahkiin's official translation is dragonborn, alternate, unofficial interpretations translate dovahkiin as dov ah kiin (‘born to hunt dragonkind’).
But here's the question... Does odahviing's soul go to- the dragonborn as is his godly right, or to the chosen undead as he struck the killing blow.
To the dragonborn.
Even in the game, when someone other than you strikes the killing blow, the dragonborn is the one that absorbs it.

CU wouldn't be able to claim the dragon soul anyways, it's impossible to claim a dovah soul without being a dovah
@@Daan-Dovah Yeah, but imagine Chosen Undead did kill Dragonborn? All the soul gems he can get plus Azura's Star would be worth a whole lot, he'd be clearing out every merchant spot in the game lol, that is until DB presses Load save
That's a reason why the Dragonborn won, I like Skyrim but the fact is that you're made out to be super special and cool being able to kill all these powerful people, monsters, and dragons but in the Dark Souls even if you feel special, you just aren't.
they made the Chosen Undead look so much cooler during the entire fight than the Dragonborn lmao, i don't know how you can watch it and think anything else
there's nothing wrong with winning by making him go Hollow, which would inevitably happen, and is far more simple of an explanation. But even without that, something like the Dragonrend shout could do the trick as well. It's not named that because it only imposes the concept of mortality onto dragons, it's named that because it's spoken in dragon tongues and invented to use against dragons

They nerfed the chosen Dead hard though death battle picks a winner and works backwards from that conclusion

@SOGAUAAA They technically also nerfed the Dragonborn if you want to get into the deeper lore of Elder Scrolls, where some of the strongest beings have minor fourth wall breaking powers such as accessing console commands.
The Last Dragonborn is as strong as he is because of CANONICAL outside help from the player, which is why they're capable of keeping up with those beings capable of using console commands.
This type of verse breaking lore is kinda above Dark souls as a whole.

Man when it comes to some of these death battles you gotta wonder what kind of destruction goes on to the planet after the battles.
I don't like how chosen undead only lost because he lost his will to fight but its whatever I guess
he would go hollow from being killed instantly eventually plus the bonfire is a home-field advantage type situation and in theory shouldn't be a factor in a fair fight
That's not the only reason he lost the Dragon born was infinitely more powerful.
it was the inevitable conclusion. even if they were equally matched in power, the chosen undead would eventually lose his will to fight. the dragonborn can fight for infinity so in a drawn out fight dragonborn always comes out on top.
It's POSSIBLE that the Chosen Undead could persevere, but most players don't have that kind of will, your average player won't be doing a full series no-hit run, so it's understandable why in most scenarios the Chosen Undead loses out in the long run.

I've got 2 guesses for the circle thing.
1, it could just represent black and white, which could be a reference to old cartoons, which could mean we get Mickey vs Bugs or Garfield vs Felix.
2, it could represent the light and dark side, which could be references to quite a few things, but narrowing it down to 2, it could be Darth Vader vs Obito or Tai Lung vs Ryuga.
The beaker or pentagram could also be Killua vs Misaka. The Beaker because it symbolizes the science aspect of the To Aru series and Killua could possibly have some relation to science, and the Pentagram because apparently it’s a similar symbol to the symbol on Killua’s yo-yo and because it’s the magic symbol from the To Aru series.

I am not mad that the DB won because they took into account of the entire TES setting at the end.
It could've ended with: 'Oh the DB won because he had used Dawnbreaker, soul rend, capture the Chosen Undead' s soul in the Star of Azura, and whatnot' but it didn't. They took into account the settings of these two series, and although I can't say much about Dark Souls since I am not knowledgeable on the lore, I can say that it didn't seem too far fetched from what I little I know of.
TES lore and, by extension, Michael Kirkbride's expert writing is by far - to a casual person like myself - has to be the most interesting video game setting that I know of.
I just wish they used atleast one of the dragonborn transformations, since they netihter showed his vampire eyes, his dragonborn soul armor or his vampire/wolf lord forms.
It was EXTREMELY far fetched for the Dark Souls part. The Chosen Undead isn't actually a chosen one, just some random person who was in the wrong place at the wrong time and a bunch of people decided to dress up the "chosen undead" as a sacrifice to keep the age of fire going. The singular defining thing about the chosen undead is that despite being relatively powerless compared to the legends they face, he never gives up.
And how does Death Battles end it? "LOL he gives up"
That's the biggest middle finger to Dark Souls possible. Would DB win? Yes. But this was just bad
@@elk3407 the chosen undead literally had no conceivable way of winning, it was a universal character fighting a character placed at multiple levels of infinity, and I heard that that's a heavily downplayed Dovah, and it's not just, "he gave up," the chosen undead would eventually lose as he completely loses his sense of self; his personality, goals, comprehension, everything till he's left as just a husk. Even in the animation itself, he didn't lose cause he gave up, he lost since he fueled the first flame with the dark soul, causing him to lose his immortality, and permanently destroying him once Dovah destroyed the first flame.
@@elk3407 I love how you miss the part where the main reason Chosen Undead lost is because the sheer power difference between them is too big. Also you ignore the part where they follow the lore of undead going hollow when they give up. Which is reasonable as realistically Chosen Undead would give up from being unable to beat a legitimately impossible foe. Even if we give infinite revives for Chosen Undead, it'll be an eternal tie and since Dragonborn is the one doing the killing, by Death Battle rules, the win goes to Dragonborn. Biggest middle finger to Dark Souls? You're just salty your favourite difficult game lost. They intentionally left out more powerful weapons and spells that Dragonborn could use, deciding to respect Dark Souls by making it seem more fair. Not only that, the fight animation makes Chosen Undead more epic that they have any right to be.
@@elk3407 But aren't the viewers the one who decide who gets to fight who, or am I confusing it for vice versa? I mean don't get me wrong, Death Battle had a few bad takes in the past - I'm looking at you Naruto vs Ichigo - but if the contenders were mismatched, I can't really see how they could end it other than using 'the Chosen Undead gave up' as a lose.
I agree that the DB would win 10/10 times for sure, but like most Death Battle, it isn't the match up that I have an issue with here; it's the way it's won.

I love how the dragonborn is finally getting the love for his power. Dude is fucking nuts in the lore. Like the chosen undead was fodder to a full power dragonborn. Being able to rip away your immortality with a shout is insane, and lore wise shouts are only limited by your imagination.

Ok imo chosen undead would have won if he didn't try to link the fire, just think about it, if they both have max stats then all chosen would have to do is keep coming back, war of attrition. Eventually dova would have been out of healing items and low on mp and hp classic logic i use to keep going in soulsbourne games "I only have to win once you have to keep fighting me until you die"
Lol the dragonborn can use dragonrend to destroy his immortality, soul tear can have the ability to destroy souls.
For example: using soul tear in the chosen undead would've ripped out his humanity/soul entirely.

Well let's be honest the Dragonborne summoned a dragon. Realistically the Chosen undead can summon other players online that is part of the lore. In a 1v1 dovahkiin wins.
