You're right it's an "African" problem but it's actually a regional and even bi-national issue. But what exactly do you mean by "united"? Unite who and how? By taking Chinese money in exchange for your natural resources and infrastructure? For what? Yall can barely keep your actual countries together. Ethiopia is about to start a war with Egypt, right now with this dam. How can you "unite"? You have no historical foundation for any unity beyond your tribes and ethnic groups, which isn't necessarily a problem. But if you can barely feed the people in your own country how in the hell are you going to "unite"? Develop your OWN country then trade with your neighbors and the rest of the world. Yall need to think in REALITY, not fantasy. The fact that they're actually talking about the Belgians, in this video is simply delusional. "Unite", right now would just be mass migration from extremely poor and unstable to countries to barely stable countries, think Nigerians fleeing to Ghana by the millions. What do you think will happen in Ghana, or South Africa or Namibia when millions of poor, no-skilled migrants try to flood their country?? You're already seeing the results of this in S. Africa. Do YOU. Then you won't need to "unite".

Mr. Gatebuke well done your narration nears the truth! The truth is since 1960s Tutsis of East Africa has been pursuing a Tutsi-Hima agenda of forming Hima empire! These guys thet do not listen to any thing and will do anything possible to meet their objectives. See what happened in Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi in 1962-2003 and now DRC where they need to capture North Kivu and declare it a break way from DRC and make it a new republic under Tutsis. Then once they have taken North Kivu it will be the turn of Burundi, then Tanzania and they will be done! But to achieve their objectives an uphill task lays ahead of them because of the following reasons: Number one, Rwandese new generations do not want to wage manhunt of their fellow Rwandese Hutus. Secondly, Rwanda will be commiting suicide to attempt attacking Tanzania. Third, Burundi which now has Hutu-Tutsi armed forces will be more dangerous to attack because that will clearly mark the end of Tutsis role politically in the all East African countries! Ugandans will no longer tolerate the Bahima now ruling the country.

Since each nation is too weak to put down bad rebel groups in their own nation and since there are levels of mistrust between them they should form a coalition force with fighters from each nation to go after these rebel; this way working together they are strong enough to deal with groups while limiting the chance of abuse per the coalition keeps them in check... Congo needs to give up every person who took part in genocide; this should've been done a very long time ago... Obviously you can't hold every single person accountable per lack of proving it but the main culprits can be taken out... There are women who are just as guilty as men so making a claim like "mostly women and children fled to drc" is irrelevant... THE BEST WAY TO SOLVE THE ISSUES IN CONGO IS TO TENDER THE MINERALS MINING BUSINESS TO HIGHIEST BIDDER ( USA RUSSIA OR CHINA). The winner of the tender should provide security in the region and also develop the livelihood of the people of Congo in accordance to their wishes. These tenders to be renewed or re-advertised after such a time agreed upon. And monitoring of the conditions and terms to be strict.
WHEN THE MINERALS BUSINESS IS TENDERED TO THE SUPERPOWERS WITH INTERESTS OF THE CONGOLESE PUT FIRST, WAR S AND CONFLITS THERE WILL END IN TWO DAYS.

HERE IS THE GUIDING PRINCIPLES THAT CAN HELP & WILL [THIS IS REAL STRAIGHT TALK AFRICA]
International/regional/local or NOT These facts MUST BE EXAMINED. If NOT it will be sad to see a small country that has come this far lose everything it has achieved.
    FACTS
    1. Any neighboring countries escalating war in DRC MUST STOP NOW.
    2. If the UK & US are supporting this disturbilization, what would be the reason (lets look at the colonial relations of the founders of KATANGA/DRC if they had any sour relations with the UK or not, if yes, then the issue goes beyond disturbilization for resource extraction.) Like Rwanda sevoring relations with France(implicated in Haitian crisis and all other French country's crises), this is reason to let go the so called Commonwealth as an instrument of regional hegemony and subjugation NOW.
    3. DRC should align with Russia & China and boot everyone out for the sake of its people who have surferred for long.
    4. African Union should NOT tolerate expansionist policies within its union mbers.
    5. Tourism should be discouraged to any country that funds and escalates crisis and corporate mineral burglary in DRC like blood diamonds of Sierra Leone. Only gov. controllled operators must be allowed and the rest must get out NOW.
    Let there be peace!

For m23 those are kinyarwanda speaking Congolese who are denied their rights and they are killed daily but no one extend those issues but they allegedly call it for Rwanda.. the solution is within DRC to open up and tell their people why they can't maintain their security . The 1m plus Hutus who fled the war in 1994 were a quarter of the population:) ?? He purposely avoided stating that the genocidaires fled to Congo with all assets and military equipment after killing 1 m Tutsis. They started attacking Rwanda from their newly set up camps in Congo. That's how this whole thing started. You can not talk about the East Congo conflict without acknowledging the role Congo played in the Rwanda conflict that preceded the genocide against the Tutsis in RWANDA and the subsequent cozy relationship that Congo maintained with the genocidaires who settled on its territory and continued to launch attacks on Rwanda. What massacre or genocide did they carry out against the Tutsis in the Congo? In which city or village have these massacres or genocides taken place? How many people have been slain? Where is the evidence of the killings? Anyone who disagrees with the Tutsi dominated RPF government is immediately accused of being FDLR. Apparently, scrambling Congolese minerals needs scapegoats. Some media outlets, even some famous individuals who support the RPF tend to imply in their speeches, that the word Hutu means killer. "The resources of the Congo could feed the whole continent." Exhibit A of delusional thinking. Why should the Congo use its resources to feed any country other than itself? Particularly given it's desperate state of development. This thought pattern is yalls number one problem. Africa is at best a geographic reference, created by first Romans then "Europeans". This region has zero history of "unity" or "cooperation". The only reason you're following this logic right now is because so many of your countries are undeveloped or barely developing. In the early stages of development countries are far better served to focus on THEMSELVES. Why? Because there aren't enough resources for anything else. I see and hear all these academics talking but I hear very little reality based, history based thinking. Good luck.

What East Africa need urgently is a common Defence Pact and a Millitary High Command. Whilst some NATIONS are destabilizing the REGION, ARABS in particular are pressing to aquire parts of the the SAHEL. This is why the NEED becomes imperative. The young ladies and gentlemen enrolled in the military service of the USA, UK and France could join such a Force. I am confident that East Africa can creat a Force of about 1.5 Million soldiers to guard against our wealth, whereby the demand for every need should be created and supplied within Africa and not from outside, irrespective of whether the demanded items have less Quality.
REMEMBER, THE COMPANIES CAN ONLY GROW OR BE PERFECTED THROUGH R&D.
Africa must start to coordinate joinly, the Production of CAPITAL GOODS resuting from creating Platforms for Private and National Engineering Entities. Such Activities must be backed by, and with National sovereignties. This is imperative.
