Here's the process of how the Game of the Season was determined:
First, at the end of the season we ask teams to submit there most interesting games. Sixteen games were submitted for review
Second, a panel of nine representatives, one from each team, watches the replay and scores each game on a scale from 1 to 5
Finally, the top ranked game was cast by Ferrikster and edited by Espark
We will have a video of the highlights from the other top games in a separate video. Stay tuned for that in a few weeks

I saw this game unfold when it was played as it was the deciding game between Ronin or Wildfire reaching playoffs (it was the last game to finish and the winning team of this match was going to advance).I never expected to eat popcorn whilst reading the players strategy with drawings and watching a game unfold like this one did. Loved to see the commentary for it!
Lol eating popcorn to poly
Yes. Such a great display of skill and creativity. Congrats to Wildfire
farm those novas ratz
@@user-gh5zo7vx4b n*va farming will not be tolerated leave my people alone
seeing a cymanti knight is crazyy
Yup. So unusual. IT's what make this game fun
Great video! Definitely a wild game with a lot of surprises, no wonder it was voted game of the season!
I know, right?
23:31 I even could have afforded climbing, but forgot that I didn't have it bought yet😢
Sad :(
Damn, those chains were wild.
I know, right? Such great knight chains
Very intesting game
Thanks
Insane game, thx for the overview!
Sure thing. Glad you enjoyed it :)
A well deserved game of the season, it was brilliant and both sides made some cool plays. I wish however that you would have added the drawing from Remcycle about the decisive turn, to show just how much planning went into it.
Yes. That drawing from Remcycle shows how much planning goes into these games
11:20 Imperius eats up a Vengir city to get a free park of fortune and use it on their capital for a giant!
Yes. Good point. Such a smart strategy
Props to the person that looked through every single game just to cal this the game of the season :D (but how does it actually work?)

Thanks :)
All that just to find out cymanti is OP
lmao look who it is 💀💀💀
I think you missed the point. Both sides had a player using Cymanti. Either side could have used this strategy but only one did
@@NitroSpeedPolytopia bro leave
Everyone complaining about cymanti but failing to appreciate the Sun Tzu level of tactic wildfire pulled off
Yeah. Each side had a Cymanti here. This game isn't about how strong Cymanti is ,but how the players took the strategy to a whole other level
As a casual player, i wonder.. was there potentially land to the east? Potentially even land to the south?
You see beaches, shorelines, so surely there is at least a sea village right?
Not that it would be useful without fish. However it would have been interesting to know. Sea faring would prolong the game surely by a few more turns, if at the cost of expensive stars.
Hm.. love risk taking
This was on a Pangea map. That means a big land mass surrounded by water.
You can see there is some shallow water in the east corner of the map, so there's probably an island village there. However, the amount of stars a player would need to invest in sailing, ports, and units to explore the water would not be worth it
@@polychampions ah, I see. Yes, it would take too much time and stars.. especially for small sea villages with nothing but shorelines.
I forgot about the need to build ports when you land on the village, as well as how expensive the tech tree can be to dedicate to sea fairing.
I thank you for the time to reply. Not used to a competitive players mindset yet so it's good to hear your thoughts on things. Hope you have a good day!~ ^^
i dont get how xinxi bought construction tech and used it for "scorched earth" tactic - i thought this tech dont give you this ability, but chivalry tech does
this game is in the previous version of polytopia
Yeah, This is game version 103. The tech tree was different
construction allows you to destroy buildings, and chivalry allows you to burn forests
@@scottdegreef7013that's not the case right now. As polychamps said, it is v103. With the current version, it is the other way around. Construction burn forest while chivalry destroys
@@lawanddalatieh ok thx, that make it clear
Nerf Cymanti.
Both sides had a player using Cymanti. Either side could have used this strategy but only one did
@@polychampions still nerf, or at the very least nerf the centipede
@Mittensbot7488 eh, it's more like a more offensive Vengir, if you learn how too, you can counter Cymanti quite easily, or more easily ig
@@daigjjjjhhvhitr riders, roads, archery. I win 55% of the time with non special tribes against cymanti
What the sigma
Fun. Right?
@@polychampions very fr
Game of the season due to... Knight chains..?
Did you watch the whole thing? This is a master class on strategy, not just knight chains
@@polychampions Yes. What were the other aspects that were unique? (I'm probably just not seeing it/them. It kinda just seemed like a normal team game to me.)
@@ThePolysaurIf it had been a normal Imperius knight attack we would have anticipated and countermeasured it better. But as a cymanti knight it came 1. boosted 2. out of an unexpected direction and 3. chained with different units than we would have expected
The combination of those things blindsided us pretty hard and it being a Shaman snipe (which is an essential thing in every cymanti battle) made it extra brutal
Why arent you allowed to make embassies in a 3v3?
It’s like +16 stars
@@ethankiernan3887 too op
you could argue that it is "too op" but at the end of the day both teams could be doing it so its not a valid argument. Its more about the balance. If Embassies were allowed the skill input of players would be reduced a lot as every team simply has to rush Embassies in a 3v3, making early game strategy, different tech routes and playstyles really boring and one sided as the meta would be to rush Embassies.
For example in a 2v2 Embassies are in fact allowed but most of the time you don't actually see them, sometimes you do but just from one side that has like a tech route to it (Imperious, Quetzali or even Oumaji going org first tech) as defenders and cloaks are still a usefull unit but other strategies aren't out of the contest as the Embassy in a 2v2 isn't as impactful compared to a 3v3.
@@RaTz3Kahl so you think instead of the being too op they are banned because with embassies there is a lack of skill and strategy?
@@cutezebrablush5699it's both. Embassies in 3v3 are extremely op, and this reduces the skill and fun factor a lot, as it invalidates every other early game strategy

@@polychampions Is it just me or is the Polytopian community the most humble.
A simple, fun and different match each game with a special charm. The game might not be the most popular game in the world (even though it’s on by default on Tesla’s!!!) but the community is brilliant.
We’ve got caring Developers, dedicated content creators, peaceful and non-toxic members of the community.
Compare this to a game of Valorant or CS-Go where people are smashing their console, breaking they’re keyboards.
And the fact we have tournaments that aren’t salty or competitive in a toxic way. We’ve got a lovely small community filled with great people. All opponents are friends and it never leads to an argument when someone loses.
Keep up the good work, and continue helping out others. Hope you have a great week.
(btw I play Polytopia on my Nintendo Switch, did you know that was possible? Base game cost 6 bucks and an additional 24 for all the tribes)
