    Like the vid, 2 things tho. 1 What was the story on the car? 2 I understand you'll get better, but for us that are watching I'd like to see more exactly what ur doing. Other than that, I really like the vid. Better than most. Very thorough for a first time.

    Put a few bolts in through the pan before you set the pan helps keep holes lined up. But good job brother.

      I wish I could help but it's been a while since I did this one and can't remember that far back. Try alldata and see if you can find a wire diagram. Thanks for watching!

    I.bolted my flywheel to the torque conver and when I take the car off the emergency brake it keeps rolling why is that?

    • @thecardoctor
      @thecardoctor  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Either your shifter is not putting the transmission in park or something in the linkage inside your transmission is messed up. The torque converter has nothing to do with it not going in park.

    • @bwduval904
      @bwduval904 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thecardoctor how do I check the linkage in the transmission

    • @thecardoctor
      @thecardoctor  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can probably see it by dropping the pan but im not sure. I would look at the shifter cable and see if it is moving the linkage back and forth all the way before I dropped the pan.

    Can you swap a 2006 chevy impala transmission to a 2009 impala?
    My 2009 impala’s transmission stopped working

    Do I have to torque the bolts on the engine when I drop it in the car

    • @thecardoctor
      @thecardoctor  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure which bolts you are referring too but its a safe bet to torque all the bolts to spec.

      @@thecardoctor when lining my engine up what should I be looking for to make sure its aligned up right and where do I go to find out the torque for the bolts

    • @thecardoctor
      @thecardoctor  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There should be some dowel pins on each side of the engine that will line up to the transmission and when they are fully seated the bolt holes should be lined up. As far as the torque specs go I usually use alldatadiy.com. It cost about $20 per vehicle but they have all the info you will need!
