This video helped so much! Bought one this week for my wife and I was a bit worried about the 'high' fuel consumption. I test drove it for a day and got around 7.5l/100km average. But I was quite skeptical having heard some horror stories

I have just bought the HAVAL jolion Ultra and have spent the first day travelling 950 kilometres with an average fuel consumption of 7.3 litres per 100 km in normal mode, beautiful car to drive at reasonably high speed 100 to 110 kph. I haven't figured out how to prevent the cruise control from slowing the car down on every slower bend but still learning, this was on country roads in Australia. Fuel consumption was a full tank plus the gauge went one more notch for 950 km

@@donniebrasco588 I was getting between 10.5 and 11.5 per 100km city driving which I think is a lot but it's a mediums sized vehicle with a turbo

Thanks for a good video. Very useful to see such a practical test done which is helping me decide on a purchase. Exactly what I was looking for.

My mother got one new in June 2002, it was bad on fuel at first. I had a look and found it was on SNOW mode. WHY???, I reset it to ECO mode, now she gets 7.5 to 8 per 100. Last christmass I had it for 2 weeks and took a road trip across Australia, open road at 100kmph most of the time. The big shock was doing the 1600km of the Air Highway, The Jolion did 5.5L per 100km at 120kmph. Buth in Preth it got only 9L per 100km.
Just remember, no other road is like the Air HWY, flat and long and you will always get top fuel consumption, much better than Auto makers will ever say.
As drive, it did a good job, lane assist was a lot of help on the long 14 hour non stop drive. One thing I must point out, The parking assist can be a pain in the arse most of the time, When it kicks in at 120kmph and all the alarms go off .... WTF, it saw the kangaroo before I did and hit the brakes and just missed it, if it was left to a human it would have been a mess and tow truck.
One thing that it needs is an upgrade on the 360* cam view, give it a setting to record the view and replace the dash cams.
One big point DO NOT open the sun roof if you like low fuel consumption, I did the return trip with no air con and open sun roof ............ 7L per 100km.
No, I'm not going to run out and buy one, I like my BF V8 Ford Fairlane too much, not in the same class. My Fairlane costed more in 2007 than 2 new Havals in 2024 for the people who don't live in Australia

I think fuel consumption has a lot to do with your driving habits. If you’re an aggressive tailgating lead foot, then your fuel usage will be a lot higher than a more considerate driver who keeps a good distance apart and is gentle on the pedal.

Thanks for the ride😅I think you should do the test in both city and highway separately. Most of the driving was on the highway and it is hard to say how much is fuel consumption just for city driving.

South Africans want to weave in between cars like they are in a Michael Bay film and drive like hooligans while maintaining fuel economy and those things dont go hand in hand. The driving practices and mentality of individuals is thirsty, the car is just about average. I think this video shows what this car is capable of, unless you think he’s lying, contradicting it speaks more to what kind of a driver you are than the car itself so please

To get the car below 7litres per 100k is when you driving on the high way at 100km/hr or less and you need to be soft on your accelerator. It is a thirsty car unfortunately although one can drive from Pretoria to Venda on a full tank.
