- Trinidadian fried plantains are a delicious and popular side dish in Trinidad and Tobago, known for their sweet and savory flavor. This dish features ripe plantains, a large, starchy banana that becomes sweeter as they ripen. To prepare, the plantains are peeled, sliced diagonally, or into rounds, and then fried in hot oil until they develop a golden brown and slightly crispy exterior. The inside remains soft and tender, creating a delightful contrast in textures.
Trinidadian fried plantains are often enjoyed as an accompaniment to various main courses, such as stews, curries, and grilled meats. They can also be served as a snack or appetizer. Their natural sweetness and rich taste make them a versatile and beloved component of Trinidadian cuisine.#friedplantain #trinidadandtobago #caribbeanfood

These are addictive, I have two to fry up today...lol . I usually put very little oil in a wide cast iron pan and spread them around and keep a close eye in case they burn. It comes out really great. Fried plantain and fried bakes was one of my childhood favs.
Love fried plantains but we can't find them here unfortunately.
