After watching the first episode of Summer in Mara i had to buy it formyself. I played waaay too much of it. Its such a heartwarming and calming game, i really hope you enjoy it!
I can't wait to see what else happens! Love the graphics...although every time I see the water bucket being carried I'm like "don't carry it like that...you will spill it all if you keep it sideways!" :P

Deiland was actually made by the same studio. I was thinking the same thing so i looked it up. Summer in Mara also reuses sprites, sounds and songs from Deiland.
In the Steam store description it says, "Discover the life of Koa, a young girl living on her own island with her grandmother, Yaya Haku. " So Koa is a girl.
