    I had a lesson today and one zebra crossing I came across was straight after a blind bend in the road which luckily enough I spotted as I come to it so I checked my mirrors and had to brake to a stop gently of course as there was pedestrians using the zebra crossing. My instructor was pleased with my reaction as he said alot of people get caught out when learning to drive. Thankyou for the video it was really helpful :)

    Thank you, i had my lesson today and my instructor told me that i need to plan ahead as i wasn’t accommodating when a pedestrian was attempting to cross, this is something i will keep in mind.

    I live in Greenwich and there’s one crossing in Charlton that’s a problem as some drivers just ignore pedestrians who are using it to cross the road. I’m not talking about not stopping to allow people to use it, I’m referring to drivers who drive over the crossing when someone has already started to cross it. This happens frequently because some people believe that their journey is so much more important than someone else’s safety, and in fact it happened to me today when I was half way across. At times like that I wish I had a handy brick to put through the driver’s windscreen.

    I failed my driving test today on a zebra crossing (I wish I had seen your videos for longer duration, only discovered them in last 2 days), saw the passenger very late. I applied a very hard break, stopped behind the zebra crossing. Examiner was not pleased. Earlier, a couple of people started walking (no zebra crossing), I stopped but they hesitated after I stopped. After 2 seconds, I moved. Examiner said ' you stopped beautifully, I was happy but then you started again'. I was in two minds, but when the hard break happened at pedestrian crossing, I had to give you serious fault. You should have waited in the first instance a bit longer and it was courteous and second, identify early.

    10:57 I might be wrong but was that a slip of the tongue or did you mean that when you said we have to stop for pedestrians crossing from right to left if they haven't reached the island yet

    I’ve been involved in a traffic situation today and really looking forward to know if I did well. I drove on a one way road with two lanes. I drove in the right hand lane since I had to turn right at the end of the road. There was a zebra crossing ahead with flashing amber lights. I spotted a family approaching to the crossing on the left side of the road. I checked my mirrors and decided to stop because I could clearly see the want to cross however a car in the left lane completly ignored them and flew through the crossing. The next vehicle following the ignorant car has stopped for the family so they could cross. Am I did well for stopping for them or I should have drove on?

      They were changing lanes to turn left and had a gap to do so, it wasn't overtaking.

    I thought I could have carried on when a pedestrian from the right starts crossing a zebra crossing with an island especially if the road is pretty wide.

    Do you have to slow down when coming to pedestrian crossings

    • @GetDriving
      @GetDriving  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it is always recommended to slow down, you never know if someone is getting ready to cross.
