Last year, caught 97 stocked trout in King Co. lakes. Jordan represented the effective baits to use. Which I have also used and biased towards Power eggs because of ease of use along with using only single barbless/pinched down size 8 hooks. Gamakatsu hooks are ok, Owner hooks perform on another level.
Thank you! 🙌Be sure to search our channel and make sure you peep some of the walleye stuff we have up if you haven't yet. More walleye videos coming up!!
I'm a big fan of the wicciup cocktail. Which is a salmon egg, a trout marshmallow, and a nightcrawler on one hook. That's my top three and have success with each individual bait.
Those are all great baits. Great video. Probably my top 3 as well for trout. May replace worms with shrimp though. Powerbait and there competitors are my number 1. I do so well with artificial doughs and eggs. My number 2 would be the salmon eggs. 3 would be worm and or shrimp for me
I can fish all day long and not get a single bite with power bait in Kittitas county. Specifically with stocked trout in lakes and ponds. Worms and canned corn seem to work the best for me, fishing from the bottom. The trout go nuts for the food they were fed before they were released. That’s why they like corn.
I completely new to Trout fishing,I’ve been a Bass fisherman for 45 years and looking for some lures is catch stock Salmon, great video buddy thank you 👊👊👍
Thanks for the useful info! Why not use a dropper loop and try multiple different baits at once? I tried that method and found it quite effective, in fact more effective than the Carolina rig, where my hook and bait just sat at the bottom and was not presented clearly.
I’m not a fisherman, although I would like to hear. I watched your video because my brother is. I’m sending your comments to him to help him catch trout in a pod. If he comes back with trout I am going to reply back and let you know what type of a success he had. Janice.
Tried mice tails for years only ever caught bluegill. Never a single trout unfortunately.and I've caught plenty of trout so not sure apparently our trout know the tricks haha
@@truckskate9677 thats crazy because ive caught thousands of trout on them. Ive caught wild cutthroats, stockers, a bass, a catfish, and a steelhead on em. Ive caught trout on a mouce tail in Washington, oregon, cali, nevada, idaho, utah, idk why they dont work for you
For power bait id say greens, yellows, reds with the scent garlic. Power dough or the eggs and my all time favorite, the mice tail. One thing you can do to make the power bait even better is putting a red garlic gell on it that they sell in fishing sections.
@@AddictedFishing i tens to fish a deeper lake in my area. Slip bobber and even shape the bower bait to match a flatfish. Works well with a little chop.
Hi I am fishing stocked trout in Scotland, nice tails work great, I have ordered Powperbait Nymphs, have you fished these before? Should I work my bait if fishing from the bottom or leave it to do it's own thing. Thanks
Trolling is my fav if you dont have a boat then save 1000 dollors and get one a little boat dont cost alot I have 16 boat with 50 hp Johnson trolling is the best way .everyone can do it tou dont need best boat out there .when trolling you are putting that bait in front a bunch more fish not just the ones that happen to pass by if they do at all.
I'll tell y'all this..I use all the baits you've shown in the video but ain't no way I'd pick them over wax worms or spikes ( maggots ) you gotta try these ...I've caught more stock trout on these then any other bait by far!! Please give it a try and see what you think!! They are also great for tipping on pink power worms which I also love to use!!
Lol thats funny bro you say that me either i was at a lake 2 months ago was useing power bait never cought a trout on power bait or anything was lureing fishing too seen a guy catch a striper so i switched my rooster tail to a rattle trap and cought a trout. Vrazy huh cout a trout on a striper lure
Chartreuse garlic 2 power eggs threaded onto the line above the hook with a normal clump of Chartreuse dough I use about a 4-5 foot leader just my preference, you can change it up though wouldn't go below a foot and a half. Size 8 salmon egg smells by eagle claw is my preference. If all else fails go with a worm simple and effective. Good luck man
If you want quick bites, catch a small live frog or toad and hook it from under the mouth threading the hook out the mouth, keep it alive and cast out 👍
Multiple colours, multiple scents, different shapes? how bout some multi packs so we don't have to buy the whole stock. I'm just thinking of the young anglers that aren't old enough to stack their tackle box but willing enough to try anything. Lol! I don't want to admit that fishing is pay to win. This is food. Isn't it? PS, I'd like to buy your addicted slip float you partnered with Mustad, but I can't seem to order it up here in canada eh!

I like Night crawlers I love fishing for trout and Bass and Bullhead.
Coming back to give a thumbs up on this vids. I got 3 today with 3 methods! Bobber, bottom and golden shiny spoon!
The garlic single eggs are actually my favorites, I caught lots of trout on it.

You are a really good instructor. I appreciate you. Keep it up. I just subscribed.

Marshmallows and white shoepeg corn work great on trout in stocked ponds and lakes also.
Canned sweet corn and panther Martin spinners work great where I live....that and small marabou jigs
Headed to Shelter Cove in the morning in California for some bottom fish and some crabs maybe some Salmon

I use corn. I work well with stocked fish.
The salmon eggs are so good for trout, reeled in 2 fish back to back using this bate.
Garlic Power bait, whole kernel corn hands down two best baits. Lure wise rebel crick hopper , mini jigs
i use night crawlers and an egg weight with a slip bobber. It works amazing!

More on summer steelhead!!
I used a go getter this weekend with copper blade and worm, got limit flat lining
Great video and tips. Why do you use a snap swivel to leader with the bottom drop rig instead of a barrel swivel to the leader?
What kind of hook/size should I use? What size weight do you use on your first setup? New to trout fishing.
Alright thanks
Should i use mono for drift fishing salmon and steelhead or is flouro okay? i hear that flouro sinks so im not really sure.
th-cam.com/video/JOWSWhJgwoM/w-d-xo.html
Carolina Rig with a half ounce barrel weight going to a bead, followed by a swivel onto a 5 foot mono leader🤘😁
I'd say that so far my favorite bait is Mike's Glo bait with lip ripperz hatchery dust. I was pulling those suckers in every cast.
Get the big fish thank you guys for the content keep it up keep getting this good content
Got to say I love the panther martin
I feel like there’s so many options that at times I have a difficult time picking out what I want to use
That's for sure. Best thing to do is go prepared with lots of options, the fish will tell you what they want.
Addicted Fishing exactly sometimes the trout can be finicky fish
I like eggs off the bottom works really well for me
Id say mice tails are all time best. No argument
I agree!!
Where can u buy mice tails at?
@@unknowntravelers540 Buy? Well first you buy a .22 Then you buy varmint rounds. Then you give up and buy a cat.

Have you ever tried float bait ( powerbait) under a bobber suspended?
Phil Hildebrand Yes it can work well in a lot of situations

What about Oct/November cold weather fishing tips in lakes and ponds
Can/should you use powerbait on a spinner set up?
What size hook should I use?
Bottom fish the worm.get it to float up off bottom by injecting air into worm with hypodermic needles leader length determined by weeds on bottom
What do you consider the to be the optimum shelf life for power baits.
If sealed can last for years. If it dries, simply add a few drops 9f water to the jar and seal the lid. It will go back to normal with a day or two.

White marshmallow garlic powder make them real stale and then put scents on the mellow with earth worm.
Night crawler and a mini marshmellow... Never had any success with the eggs... But I'm probably doing it wrong.
