It's actually incredible just how strong habits can become, like being on your phone too much. It becomes muscle memory and a part of your day, but the minute you take a trip, spend a few busy days without it etc, you get back on it and wonder what the hell you were even doing on it all those hours. Sometimes you really need to just dive in the deep end with these awful habits and feel the discomfort - it's only a thought you're experiencing, which is an illusion.

As a highly sensitive person, I’m always drained at the end of the day from feeling and sensing things at a heightened level. I really struggle with sleep as I require more than the average person does to truly feel recovered from the constant stimulation around.
I enjoyed your video which encourages those to step back from the noise and find balance from the productivity-demanding societies we live in.

This woman does an excellent job, too. She always has an excellent message. She teaches on her channel how she transformed her life into being minimal. She shows her wardrobe & how she matches her clothes to own the least she can own. She is a smart cookie, she has a financial degree in something. Her & her husband live in Hawaii & she explains everything, like how by slowing her life down, they then rented out part of their home to afford a calmer lifestyle. All of us Soldiers need to do this because the over stimulation is unhealthy!

God is in everyone and everything,
and after the winter comes the spring,
God is unlimited by no one and no thing ...
All that matters is a wonderful thing...
After the darkness of the night ,
The sun would be shining bright ...
After a war and after a fight ,
Peace would prevail to be alright ,

I love being a hermit, for periods of time. Sitting in a quiet cinema, with popcorn, or going on a hike in nature. You can be your own bestie.
One more thing, about sleep, I find its good to "cradle the mind" in that hour before bedtime. Think nice relaxing thoughts, or dont think too much at all ; but certainly, avoid upsetting, draining complicated thoughts. Thank you for your work, I've been an appreciative follower for a long time. ( ps. that little dog is a cutie )

That’s the definition of a priority: something we HAVE to do. So much toxic “productivity” surrounds us, that even a basic need like sleep has become “ self care” as if it’s an indulgence. Thank you for the gentle reminder of what life can be. ❤️

I can so relate to the constant background noise and I'm trying to cut it out a little bit but I have such negative intrusive thoughts these days that if I stay in silence for longer than 5 minutes, I think about painful things and get depressed. I know it's a quick and unhealthy fix for now though, so I'm looking forward to finding other ways to cope.

I've also started catching myself listening to podcast whenever I'd be washing dishes, doing laundry, brushing teeth, flossing, showering. The negative side of this is that constant listening allow me to think, reflect and hear the voice of my conscience, Spirit or God, because my ears are always busy. I am going to start working backwards to allow myself space to think.

I love this. I've recently started to "de-badge" my home too. Listerine bottle gets poured into a label-less bottle. Soap into a label-less bottle. Laundry detergent into a label-less bottle. Little logo sticker on TV removed. Book collection pruned to reflect my current values and interests. As much as possible. Even my art has become really mild and ambient rather than evocative (this one I could see being very personal as compared to the others). It's subtle but has actually added a lot of peace to my bathroom and kitchen especially.

Also, I'd like to add that headphones are still a great tool for blocking out external noise for those more prone to overstimulation in busy or louder areas. As an HSP (highly sensitive person), even having headphones on inside with no sound playing, allows me to preserve my energy for longer periods of time.

I too would automatically put on my headphones doing chores, working out, etc, but I learned to embrace the quiet moments I do have. Silence would irritate me but now, I love it. My drive to and from work are now with the radio off. No music, just the sounds of the road. I appreciate these moments as it helps bring mental clarity throughout my day.

"Less words." That's the prompting I felt quite strongly in my Spirit just a couple of days ago, and it has lingered since. I think that getting rid of some books is the step I am going towards right now to help lessen stimulus in my currently fairly small living environment. :) Thank you for the video! It really resonated with my heart and desires. With gratitude:)

Sleep is so important. In the first 1.5 years as a mother I had 0-5 hours of sleep a night and never in one go. I'm slowly recovering from it and listening to my body's signals. Nobody understands why I don't want a second child (especially now). I'm not willing to push my mental and physical health to the limit and I don't listen to what those around me say. Thank you very much for your video ❤️

So great to see you again! I’ve missed your videos ❤ For a long time I had trouble falling asleep at night. I tried all different methods but I would still lay there in bed with my mind spinning. About a year ago I started to do yoga nidra most everyday for at least ten minutes. I now have the ability to shut my brain off in bed so I almost never struggle to sleep. And on some nights when my partner is still up and about I’ll put in ear plugs to stop any distracting noises. Yoga nidra is quite a powerful thing and I recommend it to everyone ❤🙏

I deeply resonate with these feelings of needing constant stimulation & then overstimulation. I thought this was true for everyone, and I just ‘loved learning’, but realized recently that I am neurodivergent (high-functioning ADHD) and the brain’s lack of dopamine creates urges & too many thoughts at the same time (without properly filtering them to allow us to focus on ‘one’ thing) and this is making it harder to just to ‘be’.
I remember being at my best when I live slowly & meditate, but I usually find myself going back to the cycle of overextending myself again, because I didn’t understand that it is how this nervous system and brain works.
I also learnt HSP & ADHD also tend to coexist, but the research for the different symptoms women with ADHD is so scarce, so many women continue to not get diagnosed, and sadly struggle alone.
I hope more of us can learn about, understand and accept the idea that these conditions are at the root of this restlessness so that we can find better systems to manage overstimulation & find more peace more often.
Thanks for sharing your experience & wisdom with us in such a beautiful way.

Always enjoy your videos. ❤️ I’m the same I’m
very sensitive to too much news too much going on and I also like my house nice and simple. I don’t like headphones. If I go out for walks or garden I don’t like to hear anything other than nature. And cleaning I like music sometimes or nothing at all. I always need to reset when I get overwhelmed with information! Thanks again for the beautiful video!

This video is so calming and I am doing the same thing a digital detox so far things are pretty good but I still sometimes feel like I need to catch up on social media but I always remind myself why I do a detox and that’s been helpful so this is very relatable and I wear headphones a lot too so sometimes I have to tell myself okay I have to take a break from wearing them. ❤ but thank you so much.

This is eye opening to how much is being put through my senses and brain daily. It may seem silly but I do prefer to wear calmer clothing and avoid busy patterns because of the effect it has on others/to share that feeling.

your videos are soooo beautiful! peaceful, calming... and educating. I feel like there is nothing more I can wish for in a vlog(?) from a youtube content creator. the wise words, the aesthetics, the vibe, the sound, the music, the cuts...all of them perfectly edited and proportionned. your chanel is my favourite Sophie, thank you and keep up this excellent work!

This came at the right time. Today after work I felt tired from so much information overload. It's a reminder that I need to press pause more often. I do make it a point to reduce my phone usage, go for daily walks, fill my space with plants and furnishings with natural textures and make meals from scratch in order to stay connected to source. It really has helped me in many ways.

Slowly getting there! 💪 Decluttering my home, finishing unfinished projects, setting "online" and "working" times for the day, endurance sports in the morning, "Forest bathing" during the day, muscle and brain excercise before bed, good sleep hygiene, focusing on benevolent relationships,...
It might sound performance-based, but is in fact just getting back to decelerating natural habits, which protect the highly sensitive brain from unhealthy overload 🙏

Loved watching this vlog. I, too, get overwhelmed by trying to keep pace with today's world. Naturally sometimes I become a hermit. Writing a journal is, in my opinion, the best method of being in touch with your inner self. And that's the most important thing in anyone's life!
Btw you've used some excellent quotes!😊
